Allowing multiple users to read, write and execute files in an owned shared folder

I happened to copy a folder from a windows computer that was previously owned by one user, but accessed by multiple users from the owners PC to the file server. Now, they can only access the same files from the server, but they cannot edit anything. Any ideas on how to give multiple ownership of the folder through the terminal?
