Couple of related thoughts/sets of ideas:
1) First, since this can seemingly be a relatively complex topic (depending on your audience), ... and I often wonder what people are actually asking about when they inquire about 'BPM,' we may need some clarification of terms between the available business process associated BPA (analysis) and BPM (management) tools (from a discussion borrowed from another related site thread) -
Here are a couple of good, rather in depth, and truly telling reads gleaned from the IT Central Station's forum on Business Process Management (BPM) topics.
The 1st piece shared is the Gartner "Magic Quadrant for Business Process Analysis Tools:"
... with an emphasis on the words 'Process Analysis ( ... the PA in BPA).'
The differentiation made between between BPA and BPM in this context (and in these cited documents) is absolutely fascinating!
To allow for prospective comparative analyses of those two BPA and BPM topics in this regard, the Gartner "Magic Quadrant for Intelligent Business Process Management Suites" should also be accessed for your review.
The 2nd piece shared in IT's Central Station to help provide further context is the "Enterprise Architecture Tool Selection Guide:"
... obviously from the perspective of BPA, moreso than BPM :)
2) Second, from our own business experience -
We have found iDatix's BPM solution to be just what we need based on the following four criteria:
a) It is intuitive and helps us to not only design our key business processes in the first place, but to also manage and improve/automate/innovate our key business processes over time,
b) Will help us to reach our 'paperless' processes goal,
c) It interfaces well with our other core business solutions (ERP, SCADA, BI, etc.) because of its Sequel back end, and
d) We can install it on-premise, rather than via SaaS (which is necessary due to our ultra-high security requirements).
To these ends, we would highly recommend iDatix as a fine BPM tool for everyone's consideration!

Which is better - the Forrester Wave or the Gartner MQ? How are they different? What do you mean when you say "read between the lines"?
The best evaluations are Forrester Wave & Gartner Magic Quadrant, another thing is that you can read between the lines :)
