1) Juniper Networks supports a wide range of Layer 2 VPN techniques. The choice of which to deploy depends upon scalability, connectivity, usage, interworking, and interoperability requirements.
2) Point-to-point (line) VPNs can be used to create a virtual network, although large networks can be cumbersome to build.
3) VPLS simplifies the configuration process and efficiently distributes multicast traffic. JUNOS offers a comprehensive family of simple, scalable Layer 2 VPNs.
4) The recommended solutions use BGP and RSVP signaling, reducing configuration requirements and providing a common operational model across all VPN types.
5) In addition, several additional VPN techniques are available to ensure interoperability with third-party and preexisting VPN implementations.
6) MPLS-based Carrier Ethernet VPNs can be built using Juniper Networks M Series Multiservice Edge Routers, Juniper Networks MX Series Ethernet Services Routers, and Juniper Networks T Series Core Routers. These platforms support advanced quality of service (QoS), flexible VLAN tagging and stacking, Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) snooping, LAN and WAN PHYs, and point-to-multipoint LSPs.
7) Juniper strives to set new energy efficiency standards in the networking industry, with environmental and energy conservation initiatives that strive to: Deliver high-performance network infrastructure that furthers the energy efficiency goals of Juniper’s customers and is in compliance with the industry’s strictest environmental regulations and directives Minimize the overall impact the company has on the environment
