Veritas Enterprise Vault is an expensive solution. It's probably not that pricey by itself, but it's always difficult to compare to something that is free. That is the issue with the Office 365 archive mailbox included in the subscription. Some extra cost for the solution needs to be paid by not IT but for legal or compliance requirements. On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing an eight out of ten.

The initial cost is high but can be easily setup on the server. It requires a one-time short license. There are no additional costs to the license. I would rate the pricing between an eight or nine out of ten.

The main cost for the Enterprise Vault is a mailbox cost. For example, we need to know how many mailboxes we need to get archived as there is a charge per mailbox.
