Infoblox NIOS is a parallel competitor for BlueCat, and both are doing the same thing, hosting the product for the same features like DNS and DHCP. I work with NIOS, and we are using it for DDI.
We are using Infoblox NIOS to host DNS, DHCP, and IPAM services for our customers.We are hosting customers' internal DNS infrastructure using Infoblox NIOS, and we are hosting their DHCP scopes for their remote sites and data center sites using Infoblox DHCP server. We are using the IPAM database for managing their IP allocation management. We are also using Infoblox NIOS for their network discovery by using Network Insight, and we are using Infoblox RPZ zones for providing DNS threat protection and advanced DNS protection.

My main use case for Infoblox NIOS involves IPAM, which includes DHCP, DNS, external DNS, and different filtering of DNS and securing DNS. A specific example of how I use Infoblox NIOS for DNS or DHCP in my daily work is that whenever I have an external DNS record, I probably deal with creating CNAME, host record, and text record for further encryption, and we use encryption between to make it secure. In DHCP, I normally use it for our laptop, computer, IoT device, and pretty much everything that has an IP.

My main use case for Infoblox NIOS is the services which it offers like DNS, DHCP, and IPAM. It is highly reliable and scales well in the enterprise environment. Infoblox NIOS provides centralized DNS, DHCP, and DDI management as one platform to manage the services and network automation. It also helps in IP assignments and for new VM provisioning and is ideal for DevOps and cloud environments. It makes the job easier. It also provides security to detect malware, phishing, and control traffic early before damage happens. These use cases are very valuable and are provided by the vendor.
