The price is quite high, which is why there is a limitation on licenses, and not everyone has the right to use it, so if they could decrease the price, more people could use it easily.
One area for improvement is in integrating mostly the data which comes from telemetry, where I can see some sort of improvisations can be made. It is a massive amount of unstructured data, and I believe Alteryx is able to handle it, but there can be some improvements. Suggestions for improvements in Alteryx include areas for increasing efficiency, particularly in processing telemetry data, which involves dealing with large volumes of unstructured data. Additionally, I believe when we use filter tools immediately after the input source, there can be slowdowns when handling massive data. The user experience of Alteryx is generally good, but there are areas for improvement from a user's perspective, particularly regarding user interface enhancements. I think there's always room for improvement, but otherwise, Alteryx has been a great tool for me. We haven't experienced significant disruptions while increasing data volumes, though I sense there could be performance issues as data grows exponentially. This is an area that could use improvement in Alteryx.

I cannot think of anything that needs improvement in Alteryx because it is working fine as expected, so I do not have any issues or feedback for it. In my opinion, Alteryx does have a zone to do predictive analytics, but it is very limited, so they could focus more on that. Predictive analytics is available, but it is available in a limited sense and it is not full-fledged. If I have to customize it or anything, it is difficult unless I edit the code, so I have to code it to make any changes to the algorithms that I am using, which would be helpful.
Alteryx can be improved in a few areas. First, pricing flexibility can be better, especially for small teams and organizations. The current licensing cost can be a barrier for wider adoption. Second, there are performance issues; optimizing for very large datasets can be improved. When working with high-volume data, workflows sometimes require additional tuning. A potential drawback is that tracking changes and using Git with Alteryx is not very easy. If there are multiple analysts working on a specific file, whereas with code you can easily see where changes are, Alteryx being a soft code platform makes it quite hard to track changes through Git. The additional features that Alteryx needs to work on to make it more competitive include better collaboration and easier integration through API. These might be features that already exist and I'm not fully familiar with, but the API integration is currently a bit clunky. The disadvantages that made me think about switching from Alteryx include the version control and collaboration issues previously mentioned. In addition to that, the cost is a factor, so we're looking at solutions that are free to implement. Finally, we are looking at how we can better integrate within our own software solutions, which are all Python-based.
For smaller clients with ten to 15 employees, Alteryx can be expensive. The server capabilities are costly too. The technical support could also improve by being quicker in response times.
Alteryx Designer is not as fast as SSIS and is not good for large datasets. It also needs to improve database procedures. Though it is easy to use, it is limited in terms of technical aspects.

When it comes to the pivoting part, the drill-through option is not there in Alteryx. When you click on a pivot table in Excel, it goes into the details of it. Alteryx Designer gives you the subtotal and merges all the lines but doesn't give you the drill-through option.
Sometimes, while getting data from a third-party product, like data sources that are not present in your system, Alteryx works a bit slowly. Even if you have a good configuration and you are pulling data from an SQL server like SAP, then the solution also has a slow work process. It shouldn't be that much slow if you are pulling ten thousand records, it should not take thirty minutes.

There are a few areas where the solution could be improved. When configuring the Logix, the UA could be improved. Column-to-column mapping can be challenging when integrating from source to target. While designed to be user-friendly, the UI-level configurations could use some enhancements. In my experience using the trial version, I couldn't access detailed configurations like deep table access for updates or inserts in the UI. Additionally, scrolling with the mouse sometimes triggers selecting other filters. There is also a need for more documentation and support, especially when dealing with complex API-level tasks. Overall, there's room for improvement at the UI level.
I have been thinking a lot lately about the standalone nature of Designer since it only provides a desktop version of Alteryx, because of which there is no collaboration or automation possible with Designer. I would like to see more collaboration and automation features in the product. Collaboration and automation features are available at ten times the price of the standard Alteryx Designer, making it a very expensive tool. The price of the product is an area with certain shortcomings where improvements are required.

Alteryx's data science and machine learning capabilities are where it loses out to DataIQ. Also, the fact that the server and designer are separate is very frustrating. And, as somebody who needed to assign licenses to people, it was very difficult to collaborate with others and show who has licenses for Alteryx without having to use a third-party process to visualize that. I would love to see an improvement to the user admin privileges in being able to assign and transition licenses to people more easily. That is something that needs to be key. There's a software called Server Pal that Anypoint has, but I know some other things out there to help people with the server admin piece. One of the most frustrating pieces is that there's not something inherent to Alteryx for administration purposes. Moreover, Alteryx has some opportunities to improve collaboration as well.
It is challenging to view the data using Alteryx Designer, though there is an option for browsing. We can use another tool for filtering the data along with it, but the interface for its drop-down functionality is not intuitive.

I would like to be able to include small snippets of code inside of the solution. The tool has only drag-and-drop features to make it easy to use, but sometimes I feel like this makes it more complicated. For example, even with a small calculation, I need to do four drag-and-drops, which makes the tool and workflow look very complex. I would be happy with the ability to run a small SQL query or Python script.

We need more documentation. We have some POCs available, but they can partner with Alteryx to create some more. In addition, they should release a cloud version of the product.
The data engineering and integration need to be improved. I'm not sure if it already exists, but it could include some components that allow you to simply connect to the API's endpoint and consume it. To do it today, I would have to use Python components and develop it through a script. It would be simpler if they provided a component where you could simply enter some parameters and see the results.

Alteryx could move faster to create a cloud equivalent of the desktop version of Designer. They could also make their new releases more stable as they always seem to have bugs. In the next release, Alteryx Designer should include more integrations with Qlik Sense and Qlik Sales.
Alteryx needs to improve its web governance. The gallery you use to filter the data is something else that could use some work. For instance, if you have a report connected to a database and want to filter a specific user, you should be able to suggest a specific region or a particular year. I know that the Alteryx isn't designed for data governance, but that would be great to think about.

The product could offer more connectors and more databases with support for the in-database function. For example, there is one special feature that we use that's an in-database connection feature. When we use this, the operation that we are designing runs directly on the database. However, currently, it only works with a few databases. We would like to have more options for this feature. It needs to integrate better across other databases. The reporting features can be a bit complicated sometimes. There could be more scheduling options available on the server.
Its price can be improved. It is too expensive for our country. Because of its high price, we can't sell Alteryx Designer in this region. We used to be their reseller partner. There is also an additional cost for automating the data and running the flows, which makes it even more expensive. It will be very good if they can let users automate the data for free. Other solutions like Tableau provide this feature for free.
