I cannot pick a favorite and here is why. I have been working with VMware products for quite a while now, and I can say that I have tried most of their services. I used to work with both Automation and Operations long before they went by those names and had upgraded features. That is why I can say that both solutions work really well and if you got either of them, you would not be making a mistake. You can always rely on high quality regarding anything cloud-related from VMware. That is why my advice is to simply see what you need and which of the solutions can offer it to you. From there, you cannot go wrong with either one.
At my previous company we were using VMware Aria Operations. When I came to this one, I joined a team that utilizes VMware Aria Automation. But for me, Aria Automation wins between the two as it gives you more speed and an enterprise level of security. When you consider how easy it is to use, it all adds up and makes it my preferred solution. But if you are choosing between either of them and a competitor, I would always go for the VMware ones rather than any other brand - they are really good.
