What is our primary use case?
I primarily use the kandi platform to find the required library or code snippet. It's easy and fast to search and filter based on languages, technology topics, licenses, sources, etc.
The platform also allows the saving of favorite libraries and code snippets for future reuse.
It also lists trending discussions, top authors, and star ratings.
The best part is the kandi X-Ray, which analyzes libraries on various parameters and helps developers select the best library for the application development requirements.
Open Weaver's boot camps based on kandi single-click kit solutions are also very informative and useful. The format of these boot camps is to showcase step-by-step tutorials to help early-stage developers.
How has it helped my organization?
kandi helps developers jumpstart application development.
It helps them accelerate building the required solutions using open-source resources.
It helps find the required libraries, code snippets, APIs, and kits from various sources across the web. Most importantly, the platform is free to use.
It can be used even without signup or login.
kandi's save functionality allows developers to find their favorite libraries and code snippets for its reuse.
My space allows users to further add their own comments and descriptions.
What is most valuable?
All the features of kandi are great, including the ability to find open-source resources and kandi kits and having a My Space to save and reuse favorites, explore pages, etc.
kandi X-Ray is also a very good feature and useful for finding the right library from the list.
Source code included projects in single-click kits and demonstrated in bootcamp or digital self-certification videos is also valuable for any or early-stage developer.
kandi's industry-ready project-based kits in various topics like Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, etc. are very valuable for students.
What needs improvement?
The platform could provide more use-case-based kits in various languages and technologies. These would be very useful for early-stage developers.
I didn’t find any major negatives until now since it serves its purpose well.
An IDE integration as a plug-in would save the hassle of searching and copying too. This would allow developers to customize the code and build their solutions on a single platform.
Apart from that, they can improve user support with chat if any developer needs further info.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using kandi since last year.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I have hardly ever noticed any downtime for kandi. The kandi search bar is available prominently on the home page and the header of all pages. We just type in what we are looking for in the search bar. kandi instantaneously gets the best match libraries, code snippets, and kits for the requirement.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
kandi helps find precise code snippets and libraries from over 430 million knowledge items, 500+ topics, 22 languages, and 150 frameworks, which in itself is quite impressive.
How are customer service and support?
kandi's customer support, queries, and other information about training schedules and events are available through email and chat support on their community platform.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I used to refer to various sites like Github, Stack Overflow, and other forums for libraries, code snippets, and trending discussions. Now, with kandi, I can search for any open-source resource under a single platform.
How was the initial setup?
There is no setup required to use kandi as it's a cloud-based platform on a SaaS model. It can be accessed from any browser, or any device.
What about the implementation team?
There is no implementation involved. It's self-serve and easy to use with fast results.
What was our ROI?
On average, kandi helps me save a couple of hours when it comes to finding the right kind of library for building applications.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
kandi is easy to use, fast, and quite helpful for any developer. The good part is it's free and needs no subscription or licensing. Signup is only required if anyone wants to save and reuse libraries and code snippets.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I did try looking for other options, yet none of those were as elaborate and exhaustive as kandi. The number of sites from which kandi sources is more than any other tool.
I used to use search engines to search. However, the results were not structured and I often didn't find what I was looking for.
What other advice do I have?
I would not hesitate to recommend kandi to anyone who is looking for open-source resources.
