I am using Process Mining Group ProM for teaching purposes.
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature of Process Mining Group ProM is the toolkit it provides all kinds of variants of process mining. They have one option that you can visualize which processes you mine, and that's a very powerful tool.
What needs improvement?
Process Mining Group ProM could improve user-friendliness and the error messages that are provided are not helpful for end users.
In an upcoming release, they should add more features with social networking. They have some social networking features, but I can imagine that they can be extended.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Process Mining Group ProM for approximately five years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability of Process Mining Group ProM, but it uses a complex algorithm, when you have many roles, it takes a long time. You have to have a powerful computer when you have large datasets.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Process Mining Group ProM is scalable. We have installed it on laptops, high-performance personal computers, and servers where many users can use it. We have approximately 12 to 15 people using the solution in the classroom.
How are customer service and support?
I had contact with the support from the beginning when we first started using Process Mining Group ProM and the level of support was good.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We previously were using Fluxicon Disco but it did not have performance checking. Process Mining Group ProM is a much more powerful tool.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup of Process Mining Group ProM was easy for me. However, I have been an application manager for quite some time and I am not comparable to the average person. I was able to install the solution within a few minutes. Additionally, we use the solution for summer school, we have to develop course material around it.
What about the implementation team?
We did the implementation of Process Mining Group ProM.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Process Mining Group ProM is an open-source solution that is free from the University of Eindhoven. Additionally, students can use it for one month after they have done some practicing with it.
What other advice do I have?
If the end user does not have that much knowledge, they should start with Fluxicon Disco and get used to process mining. When they feel some shortages, then they can step up over to Process Mining Group ProM.
If the user is knowledgeable, then I would advise them to use Process Mining Group ProM.
I rate Process Mining Group ProM an eight out of ten.
Overall this is a good tool.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises
