What is our primary use case?
1Kosmos BlockID is used primarily for accounting operations, as there are different portals that need to be accessed to check shipping status, invoice status, and when selling on the Amazon portal. Logging into those Amazon portals involves using user credentials, login IDs, and passwords, and 1Kosmos BlockID helps everywhere whether selling through Amazon, Shopify, or working on cloud-based ERP.
In daily workflow, passwords cannot be stored by writing them on chit notes, saving them on phones, or using sticky notes. Previously, reliance was placed on Google Authenticator and another application, Okta verification, which used to help remember login IDs and passwords, but 1Kosmos BlockID is really helpful in that aspect. When logging on a computer system and using 1Kosmos BlockID, it makes logging in anywhere and working on cloud-based products super easy.
1Kosmos BlockID fits into workflow because in account receivable, it's a large-scale business where work is always done on cloud-based products, not on applications. In an entire career of 11 years, only two years have been application-based ERP called SAP, whereas every other application used has been cloud-based, such as Business Central, Oracle NetSuite, and Workday. 1Kosmos BlockID is instrumental in completing day-to-day needs, enabling smooth logins and password management during eight or nine-hour shifts.
What is most valuable?
The cloud-based feature of 1Kosmos BlockID stands out because when working on SAP, it often went down due to memory size, but since 1Kosmos BlockID is cloud-based, downtime is not experienced. The second standout feature is the login ID and password recognition; it allows the right person to log in without manual entry of usernames and passwords, making 1Kosmos BlockID very helpful in any situation.
1Kosmos BlockID offers passwordless authentication that eliminates 2FA. It operates through biometric authentications, such as facial recognition and thumb impressions, which are compliant security keys for enterprise applications. Identity verification is another strong feature; if 1Kosmos BlockID recognizes a user, it ensures that the right person is logging in. It uses AI and machine learning to scan government-issued IDs, licenses, and passports, matching them with user biometrics for 100% accuracy. The digital wallet feature also stores user identity information in a private or permissioned blockchain, allowing users to control their personal data. It meets high assurance standards, including NIST 800-63-3 and GDPR, and supports both app-based and browser-based user journeys for onboarding and authentication.
1Kosmos BlockID has positively impacted the organization by enhancing security through eliminating usernames and passwords and storing encrypted user data in a private permissioned blockchain, which drastically reduces the risk of data breaches and phishing. Furthermore, it has improved operational efficiency by streamlining the user experience, reducing help desk calls for password resets and simplifying identity management, thus increasing overall productivity.
In terms of time savings, for a team of 15 people, a monthly saving of around eight to ten hours has been observed after using 1Kosmos BlockID. Before its implementation, the IT help desk faced 300 to 500 calls a month. After using 1Kosmos BlockID, that number reduced to just 70 to 80 calls monthly, significantly alleviating common password-related issues.
What needs improvement?
For improvement, I suggest implementing optimistic execution that allows nodes to process blocks ahead of time for quicker responses, potentially cutting down block times. Additionally, dynamic block intervals for adjusting based on network conditions could optimize resources, increasing transaction throughput when demand is high.
I choose 9 out of 10 because there are one or two improvements needed. With 11 years of experience, I recognize that others with more experience may find additional areas for improvement, but I am hopeful that future updates will address those.

1Kosmos BlockID has excellent scalability; the company has 3,000 employees, and it handles them very well, suggesting that it could easily scale to accommodate 20,000 to 30,000 users without issues.
How are customer service and support?
Initially, customer support was contacted for navigation help, and the experience was positive. The support professional was very knowledgeable and resolved the issue within 20 to 30 minutes, providing a well-explained manual guide as well.

Before using 1Kosmos BlockID, 2FA and Microsoft Authenticator were utilized, which led to numerous challenges such as data breaches and security issues. The transition to 1Kosmos BlockID addressed these concerns effectively, and there is confidence that the right choice was made.

1Kosmos BlockID has provided a return on investment by significantly reducing the need for IT personnel. Initially, ten people were in the IT support team, but with the reduced ticket volume from 300 to 500 to just 70 to 80 calls monthly, only two IT staff members are now required, saving costs equivalent to around 80 lakhs per year.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The experience with the pricing, setup cost, and licensing for 1Kosmos BlockID has been great. Previously, issues were encountered with Business Central where changing the price for one single line item would inadvertently affect all other items, but with 1Kosmos BlockID, the impact is limited to the specific line item. Licensing has also been beneficial, as one of the largest licensors in the USA works with clients such as Disney and Marvel, helping manage contracts effectively and reminding of timelines for price changes.
