The features they are providing are good.
Boomi AtomSphere API Management has very few features. If you ask me to name the top two, I would say MuleSoft and Apigee, as it depends on the customer-to-customer use cases. After those, WSO2, Kong, and whether you say Informatica API Manager or Boomi AtomSphere API Management, they stand with only three out of ten features which are essential for API management.
All the features that Apigee has, they need to add. All the features that MuleSoft has, they need to add. It is not a simple task. The problem is that they lack features. It is not their performance. There are many features to mention. When you take and compare all the features that Apigee has and all the features that MuleSoft has, they need to implement those features.
I have been using it for the last twenty years.
They charge based on the number of connectors. Whether you take MuleSoft, everyone has their own strategy. MuleSoft is going to work on the worker nodes and they call it a runtime base. They charge on the runtime environment. Boomi charges based on the connectors. If your integration is only with Salesforce, you can go with only a single connector and you can get everything done. You can deploy as many applications as you want. This is not the same in MuleSoft. That is what we basically tell customers whenever we are going to implement, explaining what is there and how they can use it.
Integration is straightforward. There is no issue with it. The overall rating for this product is four out of ten.

I am a service provider and we use Boomi API management for customer-facing applications where real-time insights are needed. We expose APIs through Boomi to allow customers to trigger and get information from their ERP and CRM systems.
The solution provides basic authentication and the use of REST APIs, which are comfortable for triggering by any custom applications. Boomi also allows for more secure URLs and easy customization of HTTP and HTTPS protocols, which I find very beneficial. Additionally, it is simple to set up compared to other tools.
The main improvement needed is the ability to have different base URLs for HTTP and HTTPS for different clients. Currently, I can have only one base URL for one atom. It would help if I could set up a proxy with different URLs within Boomi as a simple configuration instead of needing external applications. Also, Boomi can integrate AI to manage backend loads and provide insights into runtime engine consumption.
I have been using Boomi API management for over seven years.
I would rate the stability of Boomi API management as an eight out of ten. In terms of application responsiveness, the solution is stable.
Scalability is an area where Boomi lacks. I would rate it a five. The data consumption is fine, depending on the runtime engine, but the integration development could be improved. The layers are not predefined, and as integrations become more complex, everything is bundled into one process, making it difficult for junior developers.
I would rate the customer service a six out of ten. Support often requests the same things and leaves it to other systems to figure out issues, rather than taking ownership, especially with connection errors and log management.
Neutral
The setup process is very simple compared to other tools.
In terms of pricing, Boomi is expensive for small companies due to its license model. For enterprise companies, it is cheaper than competitors like MuleSoft, as large enterprise accounts have huge data requirements and benefit from Boomi's license-based pricing.
The main competitor for Boomi API management is MuleSoft. I have worked on projects where both Mule and Boomi were used, but priority was given to Mule mainly due to its scalability and structured approach with different layers.
I recommend Boomi for medium and enterprise-level companies. It is not suitable for small companies due to cost and licensing structure. Overall, I rate Boomi API management an eight out of ten, and I do recommend their solutions to other users.

We use the solution to maintain the state of the database in two different places. We run Events on one database and replicate them on another database for external and internal use. We have different reporting systems internally. We either pull data from or provide data to external providers.
API is the best part of the solution. We can create APIs straightforwardly and quickly and build jobs for data migration. These are the two key parts that we use extensively.
We faced issues with error management. When there was an issue with a job, it was quite difficult to find the reason for the error in the environment.
There are multiple screens on the user interface. So we have to jump through different screens during the deployment of APIs constantly. It is quite easy to lose track of what we are doing. It was really easy to see processes running and what was happening in the environment. However, getting things from development to production was somewhat challenging.
The documentation is quite hard to learn. I rate the documentation a three out of ten. The product is really complex to manage.
I have been using the solution for nearly nine months.
The product is pretty much rock solid once we install them. Once, we faced an issue when Windows patches stopped all the services. When Windows patches were released, they would either automatically restart or they wouldn't start anything after loading the patch. We found out that we were upstreaming without taking the VMs from Automatic Windows Update to controlled updates. We turned on a feature to auto-restart services when the VM restarted itself.
When we purchase the solution, we get six runtime environments and load balance across those environments. The only limitation was on connecting to new systems or new databases. That implies quite a significant cost. We're probably connecting to about sixty external data providers and providing data to about forty business partners.
We had got a proof of concept before we actually bought the solution. We had a support person we could contact whenever we had issues. For the first couple of months, we really used the services.
Once we got our templates all built up, we probably were in contact maybe once a month. We faced some delays because New Zealand is two hours ahead of Australia. As long as we didn't expect anything before ten o'clock, we've got pretty quick responses from support.
Positive
The product is really easy to install. It is one of the biggest benefits of the product because most of it is on the external cloud. We install an engine or a runtime environment and link it through VMware Cloud. So upgrades never happen in our environment. It happens on the cloud. It is a real joy that upgrades can occur without us having to do anything major.
If we know what we are doing, the deployment could be done in a couple of hours. If you strike a problem, it could be a number of days to a couple of weeks. When something goes wrong, it's really hard to figure out what went wrong. We need eight people to deploy the solution.
The product provides the ability to copy jobs and use the configuration to make minor changes. We can reuse a template again and again. This ability speeds up development. Maintenance is all done through the cloud platform.
We don't typically have to do anything to the runtime environment that we've installed. It's all pushed out remotely from the cloud. Boomi does upgrades a couple of times a year.
The solution saves time if you’re trying to write code. It is a less risky option.
The product's price is based on connections and is a little gray on what defines the connection. The product can get very expensive quickly if you connect to multiple databases.
The product’s costing model is cheap when you connect to only one or two databases. It becomes expensive if you want to connect to eight databases. We connect to a number of different places, but we have very low volumes of traffic on the majority of those. It becomes quite cost prohibitive for us.
When we started looking, we planned to choose MuleSoft and got a quote. However, it was way too expensive than my organization was prepared to pay for. So we decided to find out what the others in our industry were using.
Datacom is one of our service providers. They strongly recommended Boomi. Boomi looked pretty good from the sales pitch. We also compared Boomi with Tealium. Tealium had an expensive upfront cost, but it was a one-off cost. Whereas Boomi was cheap to start. It was quite costly long term.
We went with Boomi because we had a proof of concept, and it was a cheaper option. When we realized Boomi’s ongoing cost, we started looking at Tealium, which turned out to be a significantly better financial model for us.
I use the latest version of the solution. It is easier to use Tealium because it has one screen. The engine itself is a new cloud. So all of the maps, all of the complexity, are all done in the cloud.
We used MuleSoft at the previous organization I worked for. We also used Octopus to deploy and manage a lot of the environment in AWS. A lot of it was custom-built .NET or Java solutions.
People planning to buy the solution should do a proof of concept to know what they’re getting into and make sure they’ve got one of the support people with them and really focus on how to fix the problem if something goes wrong.
Overall I rate the solution a five out of ten.
AtomSphere API Management is used for integrating various API services. You can also use it to integrate identity access management using Okta and some of the data hooks
AtomSphere API Management is a simple platform that's easy to use. If you're using it on-prem, there's a little learning curve.
It's difficult to integrate the on-prem application with the Dell Boomi Cloud. We have to check to ensure the Dell domain engine is running. It just requires some service endpoints from our on-prem application to connect to Dell Boomi Cloud to make it available to integrate. It would be better if AtomSphere API Management were offered as a purely SaaS application, so I wouldn't need an on-prem component to make it available. We could make a test call or provide some connection parameters. That should enable it to pull the data.
I have used AtomSphere API Management for three years.
AtomSphere API Management is stable.
AtomSphere API Management can easily handle a large volume of data. We haven't had any problems.
I rate Boomi support seven out of 10.
Neutral
I rate AtomSphere API Management six out of 10 for ease of setup. It isn't too difficult. Five or six people on the DevOps team are responsible for managing and maintaining the full cluster.
I tried to get all the pricing details, but it's hard to understand how the cost is calculated.
I rate Boomi AtomSphere API Management eight out of 10. It's an easy way to transfer data between two systems. It has internal storage and can handle a large volume of data.

The solution is used for API security. It helps with cloud integration, seamless connectivity, and quick time to market.
The solution's automation capabilities are good. The product helps us connect to the system seamlessly. The speed depends on the configuration. The tool has enhanced our operational efficiency. Integrations take less time. The workflow automation is seamless. It has a good impact on the productivity of people using the platform.
The product is suitable for large enterprises with multiple backup systems. The tool handles data security and compliance well. It has AI capabilities. It is an open architecture with seamless plug-and-play capabilities. I don't see any challenges in the AI tools.
The solution must provide more AI services.
I have been using the solution for more than two to three years.
I rate the tool’s stability an eight or nine out of ten.
The product is suitable for large enterprises.
The tool has a good SaaS-based pricing model. The price is reasonable.
The product roadmap seems to be good. The vendor is continuously investing in the product. They are strong. The solution has strong cloud integration capabilities. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

I use the solution in my company for order processing, inventory, invoicing, receivable bills, payable bills, and customer information.
From an improvement perspective, the price could be cheaper.
I have been using Boomi AtomSphere API Management for two to three years.
The product's stability is good.
The product's scalability is good.
Around 2,000 people in my company use the product.
The solution's technical support is good. The solution's technical support is customer-friendly. The solution's support team initially offers L1 support, and only if it can't resolve any issue is the problem sent to the next level of support. The support team is approachable, and you can raise a concern with the technical team regarding the product.
The product's initial setup phase was straightforward.
For the deployment, Boomi Atom runtime needs to be installed, your ports should be opened, your certificates need to be installed, your network has to be compliant, and your security part needs to be taken care of along with the data governance part. Okay. You also need to take care of data persistence. The user needs to take care of a lot of the things or information.
The solution can be deployed around a week in our company's internal landscape. Based on the complexity of processing, it takes some time. I don't think it is too complex to deploy the tool.
The number of people required for the product's deployment and maintenance depends on how much work you must do in your company.
Even though I am not a salesperson, compared to the other products in the market, Boomi AtomSphere API Management gives customers a good price. Price-wise, the product is good.
To use the product's integration capabilities, you must provide specific application and technology connectors to integrate them with multiple source and target systems.
The product has improved our company's data accessibility since it is a tool that can be used for order processing. The product can be used with a standard or specific connector with SAP. With Boomi AtomSphere API Management, you can use a standard or specific ESBs, Oracle's HRMS products, SAP SuccessFactors, or Salesforce Platform and use specific technology connectors to integrate and get the data from different source systems, which can be passed to different target systems.
The features of the product that are useful for API lifecycle management stem mainly from the tool's features related to connectivity, data, recommendation, orchestration, and API standardization in the network.
The product's interface helps manage the company's workload since it helps us in our company to deal with medium to complex analytics.
Based on the business requirements, my company makes changes to the product. If any changes are to be made in SAP Business One, Boomi AtomSphere API Management comes into the picture, after which my company integrates both products.
The product's performance is good.
The product's scalability features have had a good impact on our organization. I don't see any issues around the area of scalability.
Those running small to medium-sized companies with business processes that are not too complex can choose Boomi AtomSphere API Management.
The integration capabilities of the product are really good.
The tool offers a lot of settings from an infrastructure point of view, making the go-to-market strategy work in a quicker way. You don't need too much proprietary knowledge to support the tool. The tool offers good integration capabilities.
I rate the tool an eight out of ten.
We use Boomi AtomSphere API Management for external users applications calling Boomi backend services.
Boomi AtomSphere API Management is a good product for integrating with Boomi as a backend service.
Boomi AtomSphere API Management can be improved in terms of threshold management and policy management. The solution could be improved to enable us to control the high traffic that comes from the upstream system to the backend system.
Unlike other products, Boomi AtomSphere API Management doesn't have the policy management features to allow a particular user to invoke APIs on a particular day.
I have been using Boomi AtomSphere API Management for the last one year.
Boomi AtomSphere API Management is a stable solution.
Boomi AtomSphere API Management is a vertically and horizontally scalable solution. Around 30 to 40 users are using the solution in our organization.
Boomi AtomSphere API Management’s technical support is good.
Positive
Boomi AtomSphere API Management's initial setup is easy.
Boomi AtomSphere API Management is a cheap product.
A user can use Boomi AtomSphere API Management if he has a backend with Boomi integration.
Overall, I rate Boomi AtomSphere API Management an eight out of ten.
We use the solution for a bit of everything when we have multiple systems on the cloud or on-prem and need to integrate them.
The solution is stable, easy to develop, and has low code. We can develop almost any interface that we need.
The API management has room for improvement. Boomi AtomSphere API Management is not a comprehensive solution.
I have been using the solution for two years.
The solution is mostly stable, although there was one instance when a data log caused the system to crash, and a Boomi engineer was needed to restore it.
I believe the solution is scalable.
Previously I used SnapLogic but it is a small player compared to Boomi AtomSphere API Management which is more capable of doing the integrations.
Compared to some other solutions, Boomi AtomSphere API Management's setup is a bit complex. Sometimes we have to sacrifice simplicity and convenience for better solutions.
A team of five was used to implement Boomi AtomSphere API Management and we used a CICD using DevOps to deploy automatically.
The implementation was completed in-house.
I give the solution an eight out of ten.
We have moved away from Boomi AtomSphere API Management and are now using Microsoft Azure API Management.
I recommend the solution to others. Boomi AtomSphere API Management is one of the top API management solutions.
AtomSphere is tightly integrated into the Boomi iPaaS platform. And Boomi has been augmenting AtomSphere API Management for the past couple of years so version 2.0 is better than 1.0. For example, in the later versions, they added several features and addressed AtomSphere's shortcomings in terms of proxying from Microservices on the API.
I've been using Boomi AtomSphere for a few years.
AtomSphere is stable and scalable.
Setting up Boomi AtomSphere is straightforward.
Boomi charges based on usage volume.
We provide several options depending on what our customers need. Overall, I would rate AtomSphere lower than solutions like APG or API Connect. APG gets the highest grade, followed by API Connect and AtomSphere. But some customers require Boomi for a specific use case, so if a customer wants some more basic functionality in an iPaaS solution, Boomi API Management works there. In addition, Boomi has a back-end iPaaS, so Boomi API Management can work in most cases. And Boomi AtomSphere is suitable if a customer needs certain policy management features for regulatory compliance because it's tightly coupled with the Boomi iPaaS. So most of the basic functionality is there in Boomi, but APG is a more feature-rich solution.
I rate Boomi AtomSphere seven out of 10. If customers are looking for an API management solution, I recommend Boomi. Dell just acquired Boomi, so they're overhauling AtomSphere API Management and aggressively adding more features. Also, Boomi recently entered the "Leaders" segment of the Gartner Quadrant.
We primarily use this basically to pull the data from the POS system and view that and point it to SAP Hybris integration, SAP Hybris meta-data. We can pull the resources from the database and that's the integration. It's easy at the endpoint.
Integrations are pretty easy to manage. The integration is useful due to the fact that you the one end from the Boomi that is connected to the database of the POS and is exposing the API to the SAP Hybris.
The user interface, which we use to create the integration, basically has the data structures collected. It's pretty easy to navigate. It's a drag and drop style of working. You drag and drop to create the import and the data you need for the endpoint. There's very little code required.
The creation of the endpoints is very simple.
It worked for us due to the fact that it was a bunch of data pools. If the data is pretty straightforward, you don't have any issues.
The technical support is very good and they have a good community around it as well that can assist.
The stability of the solution is good.
The solution has very good queueing capabilities.
To some degree, you need to know what type or amount of API you are creating - whether it's a rest API or web service API. You need to know ETL in order to really get the most out of Boomi.
I'm not sure about what happens the data becomes more complex and the structure becomes more complex. When that happens, I'm not sure that whatever the output would needs. I'm not sure if you can deal with more than one format. I haven't explored that in much detail.
I've only used the solution for about two months at this point. It hasn't been that long just yet. It's still very new to me and I'm still feeling it out.
The stability of the product is good. There is no doubt about it. That said, there are different scenarios for different situations for different companies. If you also queue it, you know when there is an end client. When it's sensitive data, if it's not there, if it's down, then it queues. That's quite helpful, actually.
I can't speak to the scalability. I'm not sure if I have scalability with this product.
The Boomi community is very good. They are very useful and insightful. It's a great place to get information and to ask questions.
We also have paid technical support. We can just call them and schedule a meeting and they'll be there for us. They are very helpful and responsive.
Overall, we are quite satisfied with the level of service we are provided. If we run into issues, we're covered.
This solution hasn't been implemented yet. I've just gone through training for the most part.
The pricing is comparable to other products. In fact, it was literally cheaper at that time, compared to other solutions we have such as MuleSoft or some other products we tried. The CSB was certainly cheaper at that time. I'm not sure of the exact numbers. We are paying extra for technical support as well.
I haven't implemented it yet. I have the training. I've been part of it, however, it's not fully implemented.
I cannot recall which version of the solution it is. I may have studied on one that was three generations back.
Clients have to evaluate the solution for themselves according to their needs. That said, it's a good product. If they meet with Boomi, the company can explain the different capabilities. If it meets a company's requirements, I'd recommend it. Still, be sure to thoroughly discuss the product before buying it.
I'd rate the solution at an eight out of ten.
