What is our primary use case?
My company uses FileAudit as an SIEM solution, and it is used for monitoring the file server activity to find out what users did in the file server, which may include modifying the file, deleting it, or just copying the file from the confidential file server. FileAudit is to find out the details of a user's activity in the file server.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable features of the solution are its quick and simple features related to advanced permissions for files, allowing for what permission needs to be granted to the users when it comes to the monitoring folder in the solution. If someone who has been denied permission to use a particular folder tries to go to that folder, then the administrator gets a notification. In general, the administrator can easily gather and maintain records if a person who has been denied permission to a particular confidential folder tries to access it.
What needs improvement?
The DLP function, including installation of the agent on the workstation and controlling the DLP restrictions, are areas where the product lacks. It would be great if the aforementioned details were considered for improvement. There are some limitations with the solution's reporting capabilities that can be considered for improvement.

I have been using FileAudit for a year.

It is a good and stable solution.

It is a scalable solution.
Around three or four people who work as consultants and are involved in the demonstration of the product to customers who demand SIEM solutions are the ones who use FileAudit in my company.
How are customer service and support?
The technical support for the product is available only via email, not through toll-free numbers or phone calls. If you ask for a support call, the product's technical support arranges for a meeting.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup of FileAudit was straightforward.

Regarding the deployment process, before proceeding with the setup phase of FileAudit, you need to check the file server as a prerequisite to see if some of the framework in the file server is good. You can easily install the product if the .NET Framework is in place. In general, the installation or deployment process is quick and simple.
The solution is deployed on-premises.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
FileAudit provides a trial license for 30 days, and after that, customers can choose between perpetual licensing or the annual-based licensing option offered by FileAudit.
Compared to the other products available in the market, FileAudit's prices are low.
There are no additional costs apart from the licensing cost for FileAudit.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
While comparing FileAudit with Power Admin File Sight, I found Power Admin File Sight to have some extra features, like DLP.
What other advice do I have?
I would tell those planning to use the solution that it is a good product with a good interface. You can just deploy FileAudit on your file server, and it is good to go.
I rate the overall product an eight out of ten.
