Kaspersky Security Awareness Reviews

We have been using Kaspersky Security Awareness mostly for compliance. The benefit we have seen is in terms of compliance. We have been able to be compliant, but the control over the program was very limited.

Ensuring that the team has the required knowledge has been challenging as there's no way to prove it. If I give an exam, people can copy from various sources. This aspect needs improvement on the Kaspersky front, but overall, they need to ensure they update the security courses with real-time or real-life scenarios more.

It is pretty detailed and covers very small points across the security domain. That's something that I appreciate about it. It's very easy to onboard and has features such as SSO and enterprise level administration, which are good.

I have used the platform's detailed reporting and analytics capabilities. These metrics helped me understand which areas people need to focus upon and which areas the employees are good with.

There are several areas for improvement. The pricing needs adjustment, the UI needs enhancement, and the management of assignment and completion needs improvement. For instance, when I assign someone a course, it should have a deadline that doesn't automatically increase if the person isn't completing the course.

The effectiveness of Kaspersky Security Awareness's interactive modules and real-time cyber scenarios rates at a six. The gamified learning paths rate at a five, indicating definite room for improvement in this area.

While we have achieved compliance, the control over the program is limited. Verifying team knowledge is challenging as exam integrity cannot be guaranteed. They need to update the security courses with more real-time or real-life scenarios.

We have been using Kaspersky Security Awareness for almost a year and we are getting wrapped up with it by the end of this month.

The deployment was straightforward with no challenges when we implemented the solution.

Currently, training is scheduled based on an automated timeline or group risk profiles. If a user exhibits bad security habits on the network, they must wait for their next scheduled module to address it.

I have experience of working with Kaspersky Security Awareness for one year.

Kaspersky Security Awareness is stable, and I would rate its stability as eight out of ten.

I rate the scalability between five and six out of ten. We face difficulties in configuring it, and other vendors may be more user-friendly.

Switched from Norton Antivirus to Kaspersky Security.

While individual users look for basic malware scanning and device cleanups, enterprises require a unified control plane capable of handling automated policy enforcement, centralized data-plane visibility, and human risk patching.

The initial setup was on premises.

The pricing is market compatible and good.

I would recommend Kaspersky Security Awareness for low and medium-end users.

I sell the product. This solution basically provides cybersecurity awareness for the non-IT person. Let's say you're the IT manager of a company. You buy the Kaspersky product for X amount of users. Now, you can either pay monthly or yearly. You send this product off to your employees via links. Then, it gives them a year to complete this training. It's fairly basic. It gives you 10-15 minutes at a time per course, roughly. Then you get a short little exam afterwards with about five questions. You answer them, you pass, and you get a little certificate. There are different levels, from your nonsupport personnel all the way up to your CEO level.

It shows you small little things like what is a secure website, what is a strong password, where you need passwords, and how you need to store your passwords. No matter how protected your company is, it can never be 100%, and the weakest point in any company is the end user because that is the gateway into your infrastructure, so it makes them more aware of what a malicious link is, what link protection is, and all those little things. 

Normally, Barracuda would pick those things up and the employees wouldn't even see those emails. But if they do, Kaspersky teaches them things like don't click on this, don't open this link, don't read the email, don't click on it, etc. If it sounds fishy, read the address. It just teaches you how to double check.

It also sends out reports, so from a management point of view, you can see who's tracking where on their training.

No feature particularly stands out, but it's just the structure of it. You can assign different levels of training for different levels of management or different levels of staff, so you cover the entire pyramid, from CEO right down to your end user. You decide which level of security awareness they should have.

Also, the nice thing is that when you finish, you actually get a certificate that says, "You have passed this course." You can put that on your CV. Nobody wants to do something without having some form of a reward at the end of the day. You study and you get a certificate and it's registered with Kaspersky.

From Kaspersky and basically everybody that provides security awareness training, there should be more of a drive from their side to promote the product. It's becoming more of an essential product than a luxury. If you hire somebody, it should be a prerequisite that they pass these exams and you give them 15 or 20 minutes a day to do that. I think there should be a drive towards it. When you get audited, cybersecurity awareness training is on the audit list, so it is a box that needs to be checked by corporations. A lot of them just don't see how important it is until they're hacked. It's not just about being hacked and about their data, it's about their reputation. 

It's a plug and play product. It's good. The program gives you a year, but you can finish it sooner. There's no limits on it. It's very user-friendly.

The scalability is a 10 out of 10. It's one license per user and you can just buy it as you need it. You go through the year with your cybersecurity awareness training for the employees, and then once they're done, it's good. It ends there after the year, and it's not something I sell twice. If the company employs new people, they will ask me to send them one or two licenses, but the initial purchase is obviously the biggest one when the entire company is covered and has all of the training.

The setup is a 10 out of 10. You get one admin email, he sends it off to everybody, everybody just clicks a link, and you're up and running. Once it's installed, it's done. The system is automated. It'll send out reminders and tell you if you're running behind, you're way behind, or you're up-to-date. It gives you a congratulations if you've passed.

This is an in-house thing. Only one admin person, someone who has all of the employees' emails, is needed for deployment.

The typical package would be about 200 South African Rand per year, per user. The more users there are, the cheaper the product is. 

There is another security awareness program out there called KnowNow, and Sophos also has a kind of security training, but we found that Kaspersky is the easiest to install. It's user-friendly, a lot easier to manage, and it covers the largest base. It's also easy to maintain, and it's easy to pull reports.

Right off the bat, I would let potential users know that making your staff aware of the risk of being attacked by phishing, spoofing, and malware reduces your end users' mistake level by 70%. Having a 70% risk reduction looks good for everybody.

The nice thing about it is, if you want to try it, there is a POC available, so you can have a proof of concept. You can run it for 30 days and pick how many users you want to run it on, and then if you're happy with that, you can buy the product.

I would rate this solution as a 10 out of 10.

Kaspersky has a large portfolio. We are service providers and we implement solutions for our clients.

Customers are looking for products other than endpoint security or endpoint detection and response. Sometimes, clients will ask for incident response service and we offer Kaspersky to them.

Kaspersky also provides Security Awareness programs. 

The primary use case is for those who are receiving spam, or phishing emails. Also, for emails that include a link.

The Kaspersky Awareness program supports the Arabic language, which is one of the good points.

We have been providing this solution to our customers for approximately three or four months, and our customers are really happy with it.

The feedback that we received from the customer is that it is stable. We have a customer who requested it for the Cloud. The cloud is mostly stable because it is hosted here.

It's a scalable product.

Technical support is good.

The initial setup was straightforward. Because it is cloud-based, there is no installation required. You just have to prepare the configuration.

As long as it is deployed on the Cloud, it's easy to implement.

Some are deployed on-site, especially interactive security awareness, and the others are on the cloud. They have different security awareness solutions.

The price of the Awareness Program is average. Although the price is acceptable and somewhat competitive, it would be better if it were cheaper.

There are extra services available at an additional cost that include training related to security, cybersecurity, and forensics.

In the past, customers were concerned with the lack of support for different languages. This is something that has already been improved, are in the process of improving, and it is almost solved.
