What is our primary use case?
Our customers use N-able EDR SentinelOne to safeguard servers and workstations from cybersecurity threats, including malicious software, ransomware, and malware.
EDR is no longer a luxury but a necessity for organizations of all sizes. Many companies still rely on traditional antivirus software, which falls short in defending against modern threats.
N-able EDR leverages advanced AI and machine learning to detect and protect against threats that traditional antivirus solutions can't address. Ranked highly by Gartner and MITRE ATT&CK for its detection capabilities, N-able EDR, powered by SentinelOne, excels in identifying fileless threats and other sophisticated attacks.
How has it helped my organization?
As an MSP, N-able EDR SentinelOne provides comprehensive protection for our clients. A standout feature is its rollback capability, which offers robust ransomware protection by allowing you to revert to a state before an infection occurred.
Another notable feature is the advanced threat investigation tool. It provides detailed visibility and a comprehensive storyline to track the activities of viruses or malware, including infected processes and modifications made. This information is invaluable for analysts.
N-able EDR also enhances network security by monitoring unmanaged or guest devices. It provides full visibility into all connected devices, notifying you if an unmanaged endpoint connects, allowing you to isolate it and prevent unauthorized access.
With its advanced AI and machine learning engines, N-able EDR detects malicious software and unusual activity effectively. Its strength lies in its rapid threat response capabilities, operating efficiently without the need for manual intervention. N-able EDR remains one of the top EDR solutions on the market for its exceptional performance.
What is most valuable?
N-able EDR SentinelOne is renowned for its exceptional detection and protection capabilities, ranked number one by Gartner and MITRE ATT&CK. It offers robust defense against various threats, including malware, fileless attacks, phishing, and insider threats. The solution excels in identifying suspicious behavior and promptly notifying engineers of potential threats.
A key feature is its auto-response capability. You can configure automatic responses to threats, which significantly reduces the time and effort required to manage incidents. Enhanced by machine learning, these automated responses are both efficient and adaptive.
Additionally, N-able EDR integrates seamlessly with RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management), allowing us to monitor EDR performance, detect failures, and oversee network performance from a single, unified dashboard. This integration streamlines management and enhances overall efficiency.
What needs improvement?
While N-able EDR SentinelOne excels in protecting endpoints from a wide range of cybersecurity threats, it currently does not support mobile devices. Adding support for both Android and iOS smartphones would greatly enhance its versatility.
N-able does offer a comprehensive Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution for Apple devices, which includes features such as monitoring, patch deployment, application control, and remote data wiping. However, this MDM solution is separate from the EDR and does not extend to Android devices. I frequently inquire with the N-able team about the potential for Android support in future updates.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using N-able EDR for about a year and a half.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
We haven't faced any stability issues; it's been 100% stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We love the scalability of the EDR. As an MSP, we can add, remove, or provide trials to clients with no limitations. It is because the payment is consumption-based, so we only pay for the devices we're using.
This flexibility allows us to scale up or down as needed, without additional costs or requirements. We can easily scale from 100 to 1000 users very easily and quickly.
How are customer service and support?
N-able's support is great. They have a great team. They respond quickly, and we have a portal for submitting tickets. I also have direct contact with the team. They provide very quick support and deserve a ten out of ten rating.
How would you rate customer service and support?
How was the initial setup?
The setup for N-able EDR SentinelOne is straightforward. Integration with N-able RMM allows for one-click deployment of the agent across the network. Even without RMM, it’s easy to integrate with Active Directory and deploy the agent to multiple devices simultaneously. The installation process is simple and doesn’t require stopping firewalls or additional configurations, and we’ve encountered no installation issues.
As a SaaS solution, N-able EDR ensures that all maintenance is handled by the N-able team. In the year and a half we've used it, there have been no service interruptions, and the portal remains consistently accessible. This reliability is a significant advantage of cloud-based solutions.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing is average, maybe a three or four out of ten. It's not cheap, but the value is there. Considering the data and device protection it provides, the price is logical.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate N-able EDR SentinelOne a ten out of ten for its outstanding performance and capabilities. It effectively supports Windows, Linux, and macOS, allowing us to secure servers and workstations without limitations. Adding mobile device support would further enhance its value. Currently, however, it does not extend to Android or iOS devices, which is a notable gap in its otherwise comprehensive protection
