I'm personally reviewing Xcitium Open EDR. We haven't started selling it as a solution to other people. The client is on-prem, but they also have a cloud-based EDR.
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
OpenEDR includes a firewall and antivirus in one solution. I also like the ability to remotely manage update packages on your systems. OpenEDR can even find a lost device and secure it remotely.
What needs improvement?
OpenEDR could be easier to deploy on mobile devices.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used OpenEDR for 5 months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Comodo is stable. I haven't had any major issues with the platform.
How are customer service and support?
I haven't contacted Comodo support yet. Mostly, I'm getting help from videos and forums. I can check other queries and how other members have solved or worked around some of the issues.
How was the initial setup?
Setting OpenEDR was challenging at first, but I got it done by following their documentation and online videos. You need to install the client and configure it to work with their online open platform.
Next, you have to configure it on the device if it's a phone. You input a cloud link to the EDR, so you can monitor it from the cloud. There isn't any maintenance aside from updating the client. It's mostly on the cloud.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I'm currently trying the free version.
What other advice do I have?
I rate Comodo Advanced Endpoint Protection seven out of 10. It's an excellent solution for IT providers. It's an open-source solution that should be easy for anyone with experience to customize. At the same time, setting it up on an iPhone wasn't straightforward. It was much more difficult on iOS than on Android.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises
