| AB Testing and Web Optimization Specialist at a manufacturing company with 1,001-5,000 employees | 4.0 | I find this A/B testing tool powerful, offering easy test building and thorough results for better decisions. Uptime is great, and tech support is responsive, though third-party communication could improve. It's the standard. |
| Product Development Manager at a consultancy with 1,001-5,000 employees | 5.0 | I've used this for three years, finding its WYSIWYG editor great for A/B tests and initial setup very easy. Support is wonderful, and we've had no deployment issues. Verifying goals, however, could be easier. |
| Especialista de Optimización Web/Mobile at a transportation company with 5,001-10,000 employees | 4.5 | I found Optimizely excellent for multivariate testing and analytics, fostering a testing culture. It has great customer service, easy setup, and good ROI. I only wish it had better statistics export options. |
| Design Director at a tech company with 51-200 employees | 4.5 | I find this product excellent for A/B testing, easy to use, and dependable. Its support is superb. Although premium-priced, the knowledge gained is priceless, making decisions data-driven. Setup was easy, and I've had no issues. |
| Senior MVT Developer (Multivariate Testing) at a marketing services firm with 5,001-10,000 employees | 5.0 | I find Optimizely great! It offers seamless integration and fosters a testing culture with high ROI. Optimizely X addressed past issues, and customer support is excellent. | Co-founder with 51-200 employees | 4.5 | I find this solution great for dead-simple A/B testing and CRO, especially for mixed technical and non-technical teams. However, I've noticed it can significantly slow down page load performance with images or JavaScript, and I wish there was better documentation for technical workarounds. |
| CEO with 51-200 employees | 4.0 | I found its intuitive UI and unique button click tracking valuable. Although it lacks support for external or multipage variants, its metrics helped me achieve a 3x conversion improvement. |
Ease of building the test via HTML, Java, and CSS. It's given us a powerful tool that's doesn't limit our test ideas by the confines of code we can or cannot use.
The thoroughness of results has helped our company make better decisions for our website. Decisions that help our customers with their decisions and helps our business grow.
Better communication with 3rd party implementation
3.5 years
No.
We're very pleased with the 98% uptime. If something goes wrong, they quickly communicate but those incidents are very rare.
Not yet.
8 out of 10. They are a growing company so there have been a couple of handoffs but each time has been handled very professionally.
Technical Support:9 out of 10. The tech team is pretty responsive and the Optimizely community are very engaging.
We did not.
It was acceptable
In-house.
Unsure of at this time
Allow yourself the budget for A/B testing for at least a year. In the same breath, have good plan laid out for that year to completely evaluate the product. Optimizely will work with you on your testing to ensure you are making the best use out of it and then evaluate your results at the 10 month mark.
Optimizely is a great product that has inspired a great community. It is the standard for A/B testing.
WYSIWYG Editor makes it really easy to set up AB tests.
Test and learn and challenge the HIPPO.
Verifying goals could be easier.

An in-house team implemented it.
Before choosing this product, we also evaluated Adobe Test and Target.
It has helped us to create a testing culture where we test hypotheses before jumping into full PROD, reducing risks and measuring success.
I have used it for 2.5 years.
We have not encountered any deployment issues; it's pretty easy.
We have never encountered any stability issues.
We have not encountered any scalability issues.
We selected Optimizely among others because of its customer service, which is the best.
Technical Support:In the same line as customer service, the technical support is pretty great and fast.
We did not previously use a different solution; it was the first.
Initial setup is pretty straightforward.
An in-house team implemented it through GTM, then Tealium.
ROI was on the very first test. The other number is pretty confidential.
Pricing is pretty good for the things you can achieve through the tool.
Before choosing this product, we also evaluated VMO and Google.
Optimizely can work for a lot more things than only testing; it is a pretty easy yet powerful tool.
The most valuable features are A/B testing, reporting, integrations, advanced features, ease of use, and dependability.
Decisions in marketing are no longer based on assumptions; the best way to see if a change would make sense is by testing.
It's a premium product for premium prices; not really something that needs improvement but it's one of the trade-offs.

I have found that Optimizely's ability to integrate seamlessly with a host of third-party platforms has been extremely valuable. In addition, it's a product that is accessible to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
It has increased interest in testing culture, and made it so that ideas can be tested before actual developer time is spent launching something that could potentially prove detrimental to a web property.
Optimizely X addressed just about every issue I could think of as being problematic in Optimizely Classic. In terms of features I would like to see in the future, I would love to see Optimizely build out more products so that customers don't need to use other vendors. For example, they could have their own analytics solution, as well as tag management system.
I have been using Optimizely for many years.
There were issues with stakeholders wanting to deploy Optimizely using a tag management system, but Optimizely has already recommended against this approach, so I don't see it as a fault of the platform itself.
There were previously issues with experiments saving as expected in Classic. These issues were addressed in Optimizely X.
There were and are no issues with scalability. The JavaScript snippet size increases with experiments built, but it is negligible.
Customer service is the best in the testing industry; transparent support along with a very strong community.
Technical Support:Technical support is excellent. Optimizely's support has been able to resolve virtually every technical issue posed. They really want to ensure a solid experience for their customers.
I used a number of other solutions. They had extremely disorganized support, and essentially zero community.
Initial setup is very straightforward and easy to implement.
An in-house team implemented it.
The ROI is very high.
Pricing and licensing should be dependent on business goals.
Before choosing this product, I did evaluate other options, but would not like to name which ones.
I don't have any other advice. Optimizely's great!
Dead simple A/B testing with no code knoweldge needed. Great way to get going with rapid testing for conversion rate optimization.
Takes the hassle out of needing to code to set up tests. Very good for working with technical and non-technical team members.
When testing images or anything involving javascript or more than text, they can really slow down the load performance of a page. There are ways around this, but it requires technical know-how and Optimizely could do more to document these improvements.

Extremely intuitive UI
The only one among the 3-4 products I came across that can track a button click event
Comes pre-packaged with the most sensible and useful metrics viz. engagement and conversion.
Does not accept pre-existing variants located outside the platform (i.e. all page variants must be created within the platform)
Does not allow multipage variants (i.e. allows only variants in elements inside one page).
Use Case: Test variants of button color and text of a SaaS-based Marketing Automation solution.
ROI: Infinite! (Got 3X conversion improvement using suggestions given by the product during the free evaluation period)
