| Author info | Rating | Review Summary |
|---|---|---|
| Change Management Consultant at a analyst firm with self employed | 3.5 | I found QPR's process mapping excellent for SOPs, but its content management is complex. Implementation was very difficult, and the licensing is unreasonably expensive. It's not scalable or good for limited budgets. |
| Director: Technical Services at a tech consulting company with 51-200 employees | 5.0 | I've used QPR for 12 years; it's a stable, user-friendly solution excelling in strategy alignment and performance improvement, with great support. My only recommendation is simpler MS Office reporting, and it needs a dedicated team. |
| Co-Managing Partner at a consultancy with 51-200 employees | 4.0 | I find QPR Suite 2014 excellent for business transformation, particularly with ProcessAnalyzer and Portal for collaboration. Setup was easy, and I've experienced no issues and high service since 2003, though mobile features need improvement. Success hinges on content. |
The process mapping module is highly user friendly and allows users to quickly build processes with thorough details that can be converted into comprehensive end-to-end SOPs.
The process-mapping module helped the BPR team in creating detailed process maps quickly. The process converter tool helped the team establish baseline SOPs that can be taken further to implement comprehensive documentation that serves the departments’ needs. The content management part helped in sharing the processes safely with the rest of the organization.
The QPR content management module is highly complex and difficult to use. The licensing part is totally unreasonable. The organization can go with the IBM BPM tool with this kind of money.
I used QPR Suite for two years as the super administrator from the business (BPR Department) side.
I have not encountered any stability issues.
I encountered scalability issues; very complex implementation makes it difficult to scale further.
I did not previously use a different solution.
Initial setup was very complex. It seemed that the business partner was not fully capable. Also, we didn’t prepare well due to lack of clear communication by the business partner.
Don’t really know what to say here. I’d rather not answer. QPR is a very complex and expensive scheme. It limited our ability to utilize the solution effectively. I suggest not using it if you have limited budget.
We did evaluate other products, but I don’t remember the names at this stage.
Demand proper training and 24-hour immediate support. Negotiate the cost of licensing and support without compromising on usage of the system.
It offers an excellent BPM and process mapping tool. However, the content management part of the suite is not user friendly. The solution is very expensive, which discourages small SMEs from adopting it. Licensing is very expensive as well.
The product has so many features, but it has some unique ones that most of the similar products do not have. Those outstanding features include the following:
The reporting part in MS Office. There should be an easier way of reporting, or producing, reports in MS Office.
I have used QPR since 2003, so 12 years now.
No. The product is very stable.
No we did not. We run the system on a SQL database which has a capability of expanding as the information grows. So, as the organization, and data grows, the SQL database will expand too.
Excellent.
Technical Support:Excellent.
No we did not.
The setup is straightforward and where you are stuck, the technical support team are available throughout your setup to provide any level of assistance.
We did an implementation in-house.
The other option was Cognos.
You should have a dedicated office, team, or staff members to run with the product on a daily basis. You don’t want to take staff from other departments like IT to run this along side their other daily activities, as it will not work to full potential. It need its own team to run effectively and produce results within a short space of time.
The new QPR Suite 2014 including QPR EnterpriseArchitect, QPR ProcessDesigner, QPR Metrics and QPR ProcessAnalyzer delivers the right capabilities for business management and enterprise architects to support operational development and business transformation cases.
The valuable features are the QPR ProcessAnalyzer for Process Mining and QPR Portal for easy collaboration around metrics & processes (action management).
Mobile features need to be improved.
I've used it since 2003.
No issues encountered.

High.
Technical Support:High.
I am a typical MS Office user who needed a professional tool.
It's an easy setup. It took just half a day on the server.
We implemented it in-house.
It has reduced evaluation & communication costs but the exact ROI has not been measured.
Total setup is not only the software setup but also developing models that depend on the existing process documentation, SOP's, and KPI's. It took us around 10 days to get the first models up-and-running.
Classical BI-products for QPR Metrics, like Cognos andMS Visio, as well as Aris for process modelling (too simple vs. too complex).
A successful implementation depends on the content (what you measure/document), not the software (ease of use is one of the key capabilities/selling points of QPR).
