Our use case for SAP Data Services works with the chemical industry, where we worked for one of those spin-off projects. We have used BW with BW with office for analysis, and another plugin with SAP BW they use successfully to run the show with all the reports.

Some of the most valuable features of SAP Data Services include data extraction where SAP is the best in that perspective, but when it comes to analytics or the reporting tool, I prefer to connect with Microsoft Power BI, which is a fantastic tool. Typically, from an end-user perspective, SAP has a huge amount of data, in terms of terabytes of data, but when you analyze that, the best form of visualization is always through Microsoft Power BI.

SAP Data Services provides a best-in-class return on investment, as SAP's vision and forecast are absolutely amazing. They are ahead of technology, building an ecosystem that meets the standards of the fast-changing digital economy. SAP is indeed good at all this now, with so many components such as SAP Signavio, SAP EINS, SAP Work Zone, SAP ALM, Cloud ALM, SAP public cloud, SAP private cloud, and BTP, all of which are essential to meet the latest cutting-edge technologies.

Regarding the pricing for SAP Data Services, I think it's on the higher side. Now, they are coming up with many pricing options, which is tricky; they offer one thing for free, but charge for nine others.

I would rate SAP Data Services for their customer service around eight to nine on a scale of one to ten, as support depends upon priority. If you keep a high priority issue, such as a production impact, they certainly come and address it in no time, but issues for development or quality test systems have a lower response rate.

The initial setup for SAP Data Services is medium complex, but indeed, it is needed in this cyber security era. The connections are very well protected by SAP, and indeed that security level should be there. Unlike other systems that connect just with a hyperlink, you need to open the web dispatcher, the connections, the router, and so much more to connect with SAP, which I prefer as a client, as a customer, and as a partner, to keep the connections stable and secure.

For the deployment of SAP Data Services, we consolidated systems and made a report where we deployed a total of five people, including one basis consultant, three ABAPers, and one product manager. The project scale is very big, with 15,000 users utilizing these reports, so we have been collecting massive data for the last 10-15 years.

SAP Data Services assists me with AI initiatives as they have started coming up with Jewel and AI, specifically a component called SAP Jewel that plays an ALM and is tightly connected with the AI models now integrating everywhere.

Overall, I would rate SAP Data Services a nine on a scale of one to ten.

I am more familiar with data integration. Data integration is my focus. SAP Data Services is another name for it, and we do use it.

SAP Data Services is mainly used for extraction of data, and it works with all databases. The flows and everything are configured effectively.

One of the most valuable features is that it is integrated. Compared to the past, it is much more robust and easier to use. The only issue is that documentation is not up to the mark.

The data quality management features support our business because we can fetch anything based on the requirements. Before, we used to have a tough time getting data, but now, with HANA and all these tools, it is seamless.

Regarding reporting, I do not think there are any other downsides.

For how long have I used the solution?

This deployment is much quicker when compared to others.

I would rate the stability of SAP Data Services on a scale of one to 10 as pretty stable.

My thoughts on the scalability of SAP Data Services are that it is good. We do not have any complaints about the scalability at all.

If I were to rate it from one to 10, I would say it has a nine to 10 for scalability.

I had to deal with the support for SAP Data Services, and in general, any SAP ticket I find they are terrible.

The support is poor because of the time and the knowledge of the support team. The level one support is not that great unless you go to level two or level three.

The level three support is better because they know what they are doing. Unlike level one where they basically search for the notes and provide responses, level two and level three are much better. However, getting issues escalated to them takes a lot of time.

I have not dealt with other data integration solutions. From my experience, I am totally SAP, so I have no idea how SAP differs from some of the other data integration tools.

The initial setup with SAP Data Services is more a question for Basis. I cannot answer those questions on configuration, mainly because I am not a Basis expert. I am more of a developer.

The ROI I have noticed with this is not clear to me. The operational impact related to ROI is something I cannot answer.

I do not know about the pricing of SAP Data Services, as I do not deal with the pricing.

I would recommend SAP Data Services to others because it is a pretty good tool.

SAP Data Services has adapted to specific challenges in our industry, within government, but everything is custom, so there is nothing standard either way.

SAP Data Services is not currently utilizing artificial intelligence or assisting in any AI initiatives. That is something we are moving towards, but nothing as such at present.

On a scale of one to 10, I would rate SAP Data Services eight to 10, or nine to 10.

SAP Data Services has been around for a while and still performs its job well. It remains a fast data-moving tool, faster than most new ones. The benefits of SAP Data Services include its speed.I really appreciate the many custom functions that exist and the ease of connecting to different SAP connections.

The interface of SAP Data Services is still easy to use, but it is also dated as things are evolving.Regarding metadata management, SAP Data Services used independently does have its limitations. It is only when you use it with other supporting tools that you can experience a broader scope on master data management.SAP Data Services does handle integration with third-party systems. There are different database connectors, and with some vendors utilizing APIs, I can set up the API into the services to pull data that way as well. However, from a platform perspective, there might be improvements in connectivity to different platforms.

An example of a competitor for SAP Data Services is IBM DataSphere.

I am still using SAP Data Services, but it is not frequent.The data profiling tool in SAP Data Services does offer quick data profiling within the tool, which is good for developers, but it may not necessarily be easily presented for business users.I do not use real-time data processing in SAP Data Services.It would be beneficial to put SAP Data Services on the cloud. Manufacturing, automotive, and electric manufacturing are the primary purposes for which clients are using SAP Data Services. Many companies utilize the solution for their core business intelligence information requirements.

The best advantages of SAP Data Services are the good scalability and high customer satisfaction. The adoption rate is high, and customization capabilities are extensive.

For new product implementations, there is a super high level of customization required, especially where data ingestion and SLA requirements are very demanding, which is where we see the need for improvement in SAP Data Services.

The challenge with customization in SAP Data Services is that every business is unique, so they cannot simply adjust their workflow and automation. Some traditional businesses require a high level of customization.

We have been dealing with SAP Data Services for more than five years.

The stability of SAP Data Services rates at seven to eight out of ten.

The technical support for SAP Data Services is good, particularly in the Asia Pacific region. Technical support deserves nine points out of ten.

Comparing SAP Data Services to other vendors, it is a global company with many customers. Vietnam alone has over 700 customers using the solution. There are no challenges regarding branding or platform knowledge, except for small and medium companies that require extensive customizations.

SAP Data Services pricing is suitable for mid-market size companies and large corporations, but it is expensive for SMEs.

We use SAP Data Services on a case-by-case basis from the client perspective. We have also built our own internal platform as an engine model and integrated several data and analytics platforms with it. We work with multiple partners as part of our solution offering.

For data quality management, they adhere to country-specific laws and defined frameworks, which works very effectively.

The product's most valuable features are data validation and rules.

We encounter challenges while exporting implemented rules, such as those applied to objects like the material master, into a format like Excel for documentation and further analysis. There could be feasibility in creating a rule book or documentation of rules applied during the data integration processes.

We use SAP Data Services for data migration purposes.

The platform is 80% stable. I rate the stability an eight out of ten.

Around 15 to 20 executives in my team use SAP Data Services. It is a scalable product, and we plan to increase the usage.

We follow documentation for the technical support services. It could be low code and more user-friendly.

The initial setup process could be user-friendly. It would take two to three hours to complete for a new executive.

I use the solution in my company as an ETL tool to extract and load data. My company plans to move to the cloud since, nowadays, everything is about cloud-based solutions.

With SAP Data Services, the problem arises when I try to connect to Azure Databricks. I don't know how to fix the issue related to the tool's ability to connect with Azure Databricks. I have been looking into Informatica and some other tools to see how they connect with Azure DB. The aforementioned area can be considered for improvement in the product.

In the future, my company should be able to extract data from SAP ECC to Azure Databricks and load it into Azure Databricks.

SAP Data Services has been set up in our company's environment because we were involved in the data-loading process into SAP. Just the reason. My company also uses webMethods and Qlik to check the connectivity part since we are unable to connect to some of the applications. The volume of data in my company deals is very high.

The product's initial setup phase is neither difficult nor easy, so I can describe it as a medium process.

The solution is deployed on the cloud services offered by Azure.

My company is still looking into and analyzing to figure out how many people are actually required for the deployment process.

My company did seek the help of a consultant to deal with the installation phase of the product.

I rate the product price as one or two on a scale of one to ten, where one is a low price, and ten is a high price. It is not an expensive product. As my company already has SAP ECC, SAP doesn't charge anything for SAP Data Services.

SAP Data Services has streamlined our company's data integration workflows since we have more than 800 jobs scheduled, and then the data loading part is taken care of in big data. To take care of the big data part, my company plans to move to Azure Databricks, during which I will have to face areas like data lakes.

SAP Data Services supports our company in areas like data quality and data profiling.

The feature of SAP Data Services that I find to be the most beneficial for data management for data transformations and loading data using IDOC.

The feature of SAP Data Services has enhanced our company's business processes because we are able to run around 800 jobs in areas like data extraction and transaction objects. The tool helps manage areas involving pure purchasing orders or any other related areas that revolve around the data-loading process in SAP. Salesforce helps with the connectivity in the tool.

SAP Data Services has impacted our organization's decision-making process, considering the major transactions for certain applications with huge amounts of data that we have in our environment.

An area for improvement in SAP Data Services could involve making the product more accessible to non-technical end-users. They could provide a simpler way to understand the ongoing business process. Additionally, they should include data catalogs in the next release.
