Neutral

The features are such that MDR is a part of XDR, which includes different products. For instance, we can sell Vision One to a client, Email Security, DDI, or Deep Security, and MDR from the XDR platform, managing all these simultaneously. The response time to any issues is very quick, providing a high level of client satisfaction.
Additionally, Trend Micro solutions are particularly effective in handling responses promptly and efficiently.
On the financial side, it is quite expensive. If they could reduce the prices, it could attract more customers who are currently deterred by the cost. They need to improve their mobile device security solutions compared to competitors like Symantec or Kaspersky. They lack mobile device management features, despite offering security.
We usually recommend this product for bigger companies, especially those like banks in Pakistan.
The responsiveness and effectiveness of Trend Micro's support team during a security incident are pretty good. They have a security team on the ground in Pakistan, along with a distributor's team and a partner's team. Their responses are very quick, although the response time can vary depending on whether the customer has signed an SLA with partners or directly with Trend Micro.
Positive
The initial setup is medium in complexity. Anyone taking care of the network or XDR must have some experience.
They have a range of pricing based on the number of licenses. More licenses mean lower prices, while fewer licenses mean higher prices. For example, Vision One endpoint security starts at about $12 for a big enterprise account of over 1,000 users.
For smaller companies with a network of about one hundred or one hundred fifty or less, I do not recommend it.
Overall, I would rate Trend Micro nine out of ten.

Trend Micro XDR is a comprehensive solution combining endpoint detection and response, network detection, email security, and mobile threat detection. It allows users to manage all these security layers from a single console. Trend Micro is recognized as a leader in cybersecurity, making it an easy sell in the market.
In the Omani market, the most critical component is the integration of VisionOne, sandboxing, and XDR, providing customers with comprehensive protection and peace of mind. This combination covers endpoint-to-server security comprehensively.
The investigation capability of XDR has been helpful in incident response. There have been multiple events. Oman's security is very stable. It's not overly complex, but it's still strong for certain cybersecurity needs. Hackers often target high-value accounts, the backbone of Oman. That's why we implemented Trend Micro XDR, and they're very happy with it. They have a whole in-house team supporting them.
We've had incidents where we were attacked, but Trend Micro XDR kept us secure. There have also been internal incidents due to a lack of knowledge, but endpoint security has been maintained thanks to Trend Micro. So, XDR's investigation capability has definitely been helpful.
From a purely technological standpoint, Trend Micro is doing very well. They're recognized as a market leader according to Gartner ratings, and here in Oman, they hold a dominant market share of 80-85%.
However, there's feedback about two areas for improvement: support mechanisms and pricing. For a market leader with high Gartner ratings, their pricing seems very expensive compared to similar products from Symantec and Trusted Security Solutions. This can push some customers towards those options.
As a result, Trend Micro XDR is primarily adopted by large companies with significant budgets and a deep understanding of the technology. They can implement Trend Micro across their entire infrastructure, from endpoints to servers to mainframes, achieving comprehensive security. This makes Trend Micro XDR, especially attractive to oil and gas vertical industries like BFSI (banking, financial services), where financial security is paramount.
However, for SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) or newer companies with budget constraints, the product can be quite costly. That's my overall feedback.
The product is very stable. I have customers who've been using Trend Micro for a couple of years now, and they're very happy with it. It's kind of like an Apple phone – once you start using it, you get used to it and aren't really interested in switching to something new, even if there are other options on the market.
Under my oversight in the cybersecurity unit, we have about 25 to 30 customers using this solution.
Support can sometimes be challenging due to language barriers and routing issues to teams based in the USA or other teams. Most of the customers, especially in the Middle East market, prefer local language support.
I have significant experience with cybersecurity products, particularly in firewall and endpoint security.
The initial setup is very straightforward. CIOs appreciate the ease of installation, server configuration, and the user-friendly dashboard.
I am based in Oman. So, due to Oman's local government law, which mandates that no data should leave the country, our customers generally prefer on-premises deployment.
However, we do have some cloud solutions since a few companies have started their data centers in Oman, but that's very limited.
Trend Micro's solutions are considerably more expensive, about three times higher than those of Symantec and Trustified.
I would advise others to first conduct a Proof of Concept (POC) to assess how well it fits your needs. Trend Micro is a premium solution, not something you'd want to switch away from after just a few months due to costs. It's crucial to compare it with other products, like Symantec, and decide, based on the POC results, which are most suitable for your infrastructure.
Individuals with a technical background should grasp the technology well. However, newcomers or those at a junior level might find there's a significant knowledge gap.
Overall, I would rate the solution an eight out of ten. The main drawbacks are the lack of local language support and the high pricing. Otherwise, from a technological standpoint, it's excellent.

The tool has significantly improved threat detection and response times for my clients' organizations. The solution has performed exceptionally well, and my customers are pleased with both the performance of the system and the support they receive.
One of the biggest advantages of having Trend Micro Managed MDR is that it eliminates the burden on my shoulders. I don't have to hire a team, go through interviews, and hire analysts. Instead, I can just purchase it and their resource will handle everything, including remediation. I don't have to worry about anything. I have the dashboard to check logs, see what actions were taken, and review remediation efforts.
Being cost-effective is crucial, allowing customers with lower budgets to access the services. Offering a range of services at various price points ensures that customers can find suitable options without being compelled to explore alternative products or vendors.
I have been working with the product for two years.
I rate the product’s stability an eight out of ten.
I rate the solution’s scalability a nine out of ten.
In my country, the principal has their technical resources and teams, which provide significant assistance.
Positive
The initial setup was not very complex, and with support from the principal and OEM, I rate the experience at eight out of ten. After the deployment started, there were some issues causing production downtime, impacting vendor management, and requiring troubleshooting and fixes.
I rate the tool's pricing a six out of ten.
The tool's integration into existing security infrastructure can be relatively easy if you stick with the vendor's specific solutions. For instance, vendors like Zoho, Trend Micro, or Kaspersky do a good job with XDR, but there might be limitations when working with solutions from different vendors. In many cases, opting for XDR might require using other products from the same vendor, such as email gateways, IPS, DLP solutions, or endpoints. I rate the overall product an eight out of ten.

Trend Micro Managed XDR has indeed enhanced our customers' threat detection capabilities. Many of our clients are utilizing it and have experienced positive outcomes. Overall, I would recommend it, especially considering the rising popularity of Trend Micro and its excellent product support.
It is most effective in government, banking, and education sectors. Many customers are transitioning to it from other providers.
The tool's most valuable feature is its threat detection capability. The system's ability to detect and hunt threats differentiates it from other solutions. It is highly effective in capturing threats that other vendors may miss. This capability is crucial in developing cybersecurity strategies, where AI and machine learning play significant roles.
Integrating Trend Micro Managed XDR into existing infrastructure is straightforward, with a rating of four out of five for ease of integration.
I have an optimistic opinion about it. They have been doing a very good job so far. So, I have positive feedback about what they are doing.
The product could benefit from some improvements in its interface and organization. Functionality-wise, it performs well, but there's room for enhancement in terms of user-friendliness. There are ample resources like documents and videos provided by most vendors to assist users, although reaching out for direct support might not always be straightforward.
Previously, technical support for Trend Micro Managed XDR in the Middle East, mainly when provided from India, was deemed satisfactory but not exceptional. Challenges such as language barriers and time zone differences affected support quality. However, the quality has significantly improved since the shift to technical support based in a Middle Eastern country.
Positive

The solution's pricing falls within a reasonable range—it's not the most expensive option out there, nor the cheapest.
I'm more inclined towards Cisco's switches and routers, as I've been using them for a while now. However, Trend Micro Managed XDR generally remains one of the top recommendations alongside Cisco in our assessments. I rate it an eight out of ten.
After experiencing a cyber attack within one of our organizations, we decided to implement Trend Micro Managed XDR, a highly intelligent solution that safeguards digital activity and responds promptly to threats identified by our security team. In addition, the tool also includes a skip feature, which has proven to be very useful.
We did not have a SIEM solution in our environment and were solely relying on an endpoint provided by Trend Micro. Additionally, we did not have any traditional software in place. To address our SIEM-related and software deployment needs, we opted for a static solution. This solution has not only been effective in protecting our end user's endpoint devices and machines, but it has also extended its protection to our production services. The solution's real-time response capability has made it an interesting and valuable addition to our organization's IT needs.
I appreciate the detection and response methodology used against virus and ransomware attacks. This feature is critical for any organization.
There is a need for greater integration of non-Microsoft devices. The integration capabilities and visibility of Trend Micro Managed XDR could be improved for Mac and Linux-based operating systems. While it is a strong product for Microsoft devices, there are currently some limitations when using other operating systems.
We would like to have return reports generated from the logs that are being generated in our cloud environment. Additionally, it would be useful to have more comprehensive reports available as a product feature. Since all of our log data is stored in the cloud, it would be beneficial to generate graphical reports for management to review and for auditing purposes. This information can also be shared with potential committee members. Ultimately, it is the management who is providing the financing for using these products, so it is crucial to provide them with the necessary information. A current security report is of utmost importance to us, and it is essential to generate this report quickly to make informed decisions. Improving the support segment may aid in achieving this goal.
Compatibility with custom applications, integration with new or third-party applications, and log parsing capabilities are areas where Trend Micro Managed XDR could be improved. It has been observed that the system does not pass all logs, and therefore vendor support may be needed to develop a custom solution to address this issue.
