I'm the only user and I use it as basically as my tool belt for patching, for pushing policies, and for remote control for the desktops. It's my main tool. I use as an IT person. I use it for imaging.
What is our primary use case?
How has it helped my organization?
It's allowed us to manage a couple of hundred PCs with just one person - me. With this solution, you don't need a whole team, for example. It saves on staff. It's allowed me to support multiple facilities from one location and to push policies and things enterprise-wide.
What is most valuable?
Using the remote control on a daily basis is the most valuable aspect of the solution. The bundles and associating devices and things for policies are great. I used it a few times for imaging when we went to different versions or update our hardware. It was quite useful.
It's been my main tool for managing our enterprise.
The setup is pretty straightforward.
What needs improvement?
I'm not on the most current version, however, I know one area that I didn't get into that I kind of wanted to is to have a mobile device management tool. My understanding is it's improved a lot from the version I have. It may be a feature that is already available.
Other than that, it really does everything I need it to do, and don't have any complaints.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using ZENworks since 2013. It's been quite a while at this point.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability is great. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It's scaled very well within our organization, which was about 200 users. That said, I know it can scale to a lot larger. Now, with our parent company with us coming on board, we're a lot bigger. However, this product will not be used for that as they already have their own standard that we will adopt as well moving forward.
While the product affects every machine, only I and my manager directly access it. I am basically the only user of the product in my company.
I'd rate the solution at a ten out of ten.
How are customer service and support?
They used to be really good, however, lately, not so much. The quality of support has dropped.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
For a short time, we will continue to use this product. We got bought out and our parent company will be switching over to SCCM. We won't be using this product any longer.
Previous to this product, we did not use anything else.
ZENworks was a natural fit for us as it was actually more cost-effective to get the whole suite of products which gave us ZENworks and Iprint and Spyware and a bunch of products for less than what we were paying for email and network software.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is very straightforward and simple. It's not complex or difficult.
I can't recall the amount of time it took to deploy the solution. I originally deployed it in 2013, so it was a while ago. That said, I recall it was a pretty fast process. At the time, we installed it with a whole suite of solutions.
I mainly handle the maintenance myself.
What about the implementation team?
We worked with a consultant in order to deploy the product. Our experience with them was pretty good.
What was our ROI?
There's a very good return on investment. I was aware of what we paid for it and it being part of that suite of products. It is very very very cost-effective for what it does.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The model we were in for most of our license covered 200 devices/people and was very cost-effective for the business suite included. Then, once we had to go beyond that for some licensing, it became a little more expensive. Even still, it was very very very cost-effective compared to the solution we're about to go to.
There were not any other costs really beyond a few add-ons like patching and things like that. We added that to the initial suite. We added disk encryption for some of our laptops. We had it installed on VMware.
What other advice do I have?
The solution is internally deployed on its own Linux server.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises
