What is our primary use case?
Check Point Harmony Mobile is used to secure employee smartphones and tablets, especially those used for accessing corporate email, cloud apps, or internal systems while on the go. It is used most often to detect and block mobile threats, including malicious apps, phishing links, and man-in-the-middle attacks on public Wi-Fi or in different sites when the user needs to connect to the internal network.
For example, one employee was traveling abroad and connected to a restaurant Wi-Fi, and immediately, Check Point Harmony Mobile flagged the connection as a risk due to signals of a potential man-in-the-middle attack. The app alerted the user and automatically restricted access to sensitive corporate apps until the device was back on a security network.
Check Point Harmony Mobile is used in a unique way to enforce conditional access policies based on real-time device risk posture. If a mobile device is flagged as compromised, whether due to a risk app, outdated OS, or suspicious network activity, Check Point Harmony Mobile automatically restricts access to sensitive apps such as Microsoft 365 or internal CRM.
What is most valuable?
Network Threat Protection is valuable because it automatically detects and blocks man-in-the-middle attacks, rogue Wi-Fi networks, and other risk connections, and this has been crucial for employees working from public or unsecured networks.
Check Point Harmony Mobile integrates seamlessly with the broader Check Point Infinity architecture, allowing unified visibility and policy management across endpoint networks and cloud environments.
Check Point Harmony Mobile has delivered several clear benefits to the organization, especially as mobile use continues to grow across the workforce. These benefits include reduced mobile threats, and there has been a sharp drop in incidents involving malicious apps, phishing, or bad Wi-Fi connections. Check Point Harmony Mobile proactively blocks these threats before they reach the user, which has improved the overall security posture.
What needs improvement?
More granular policy controls would be helpful, as it would be beneficial to have more fine-tuned policy settings for different users, device types, or risk levels, especially in BYOD environments where flexibility is key.
Granular admin roles would help, as adding more flexible role-based access control within the Infinity Portal would help large teams delegate responsibilities without overexposing sensitive settings and data.
