It provides a consolidated platform to manage content for the content editors.
Hosting support is the most valuable feature. Acquia provides a standard for the support and the incident requests. Their knowledge of Drupal as a CMS has enabled us to focus on developing business outcomes rather than focusing on the IT operations. Acquia has provided a resilient hosting infrastructure that allows our people to focus on delivering value to our customers.

Regarding improvements, one enhancement for Google App Engine would be enabling some sort of CICD via CloudFormation or Terraform. This would allow DevOps engineers to configure Google App Engine for no-code deployments or a one-click deployment process for every customer deployment. Currently, we have to use Google CLI and utilize Google App CLI SDKs for deployment. If options were available to enable these SDKs for Terraform and CloudFormation, it would be more helpful for executing one-click deployments. Another feature that would be beneficial in Google App Engine is the ability to easily white label custom domains. Google App Engine provides Google's own domain link by default, but customers often prefer something under their company name. The option to add custom domains would be a valuable advantage for customers.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Acquia has provided a resilient hosting infrastructure that allows our people to focus on delivering value to our customers."
"The auto-scaling feature helped us significantly in our fast-paced environment where the number of users was increasing rapidly."
"Google App Engine is highly scalable and can integrate easily with other applications."
"What I find most beneficial about Google App Engine is that we do not need to manage it since it's a fully managed serverless platform, allowing us to spend more time on development rather than managing and maintaining configurations."
"Free Tier is basic if you simply want to test your development or if you are not sure whether the product you are trying to launch will be successful."
"Google App Engine's most valuable feature is self-management."
"The features of Google App Engine that I have found most valuable for my use cases include its easy deployment process, where there is minimal configuration required, allowing a few details in a configuration file before pushing it to Google App Engine, which auto-scales and requires less maintenance with no downtime over three years."
"Its ability to integrate with most devices helps users who have different or old devices."
"The product's initial setup phase was straightforward, considering that there is good documentation explaining the implementation part of it."

Cons

"The automation tools need to improve."
"The documentation is an area that could definitely be improved."
"There are two versions of Google App Engine: flexible and standard versions. I think they can improve by having only one version."
"There is limited customization because the sandbox environment restricts it."
"The main drawback with Google App Engine's standard environment was its restrictions. We could not work with file systems, run shell scripts from the environment, or use WebSockets."
"Difficult to assess how pricing is managed."
"Currently, we have to use Google CLI and utilize Google App CLI SDKs for deployment. If options were available to enable these SDKs for Terraform and CloudFormation, it would be more helpful for executing one-click deployments."
"The only concern is that there is a number of the offerings which are built on their own proprietary technologies. With some of the offerings in Google Cloud, it's difficult to have a path to migrate to other cloud providers."
"The support for the Indian region is not as good as compared to the support that is offered to the regions in Europe."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"If we don't know how to work with the tool, we might have some spikes in price."
"I would like to have more free application with it. Some of the applications, I am paying more for them. I think that they must be free."
"We pay the license yearly. It's about $6 a month, which is $72 a year per person, so it's about $500."
