Reliable image backups have protected our HMIs and simplified on‑premises recovery
We have not tried the vulnerability assessment feature yet because we have a different set of protocols for our cybersecurity. We conduct audits and plug the gaps as part of our security approach. We are not using AI with the anti-malware from Acronis; we are using it only for backup and recovery. On the backup and restoration side with Acronis Backup, some on-premises AI features which can detect anomalies may be something which would improve the product significantly. Otherwise, we are not very comfortable with cloud-based solutions at this time. We are looking for products which are entirely on-premises, so they remain within our control.

Stable solution with a wider boost functionality, helping us eliminate the tape backup requirements
We use the solution to protect the applications running in the cloud or on-premises. Its wider boost functionality helps us eliminate the tape backup requirements The solution's most valuable feature is throttling the applications as per the bandwidth. Using it, we can adapt a method to work on…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is stable and reliable."
"Try all of the solutions in the market; you will see for yourself that Acronis is the easiest to use and stable, and it has never failed on me."
"The most valuable feature is its ability to back up and recover our production environment from ransomware."
"Massive peace of mind and the certain knowledge that we can recover from any disaster goes way beyond the cost of the product."
"The most valuable feature is the quick restoration. We can restore the data quickly."
"For me, the tool proved most valuable in scenarios where it offered easy setup, fast backups, and recognition of SQL logs on virtual machines."
"The tool is user-friendly."
"In terms of system-critical support, Acronis' technical support does really well. I would give them an eight out of ten for that."
"The solution's support team is excellent."
"My customer has Dell EMC CloudBoost integrated with all of their other Dell products; it integrates well and is very simple to use, making it easy for him to make copies of very important files to the public cloud because it is fully integrated with his Networker and Avamar's tools."
"My customer has Dell EMC CloudBoost integrated with all of their other Dell products. It integrates well."

Cons

"There are times when the backups are slow. A faster backup would be better."
"There are some limitations to the backup."
"It does not delete locked files."
"The ability to use computing resources, the storage nose is stuck frequently and we have to reboot it, and I'm told that it needs 128GB memory and SAS disk to keep it stable, all of these elements leave me unsatisfied."
"Acronis Backup can improve on the virtualization backups because they are not as good as Veeam Backup."
"The cost of Acronis Cyber Protect is good, but as a general judgment here in Egypt, the economic situation is not good. If they can provide a waiver or discount for low-income countries, it would help to spread adoption."
"Acronis Backup support could improve."
"When I first started using Acronis, I found it a little bit confusing when it came to the configuration."
"They should eliminate the tape-out function from the solution."
"The price of Dell EMC CloudBoost could be reduced, it is expensive."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Acronis Backup is cheaper. If you install it on a hypervisor, you only pay for a single license. It would be for the backup server, and everything else will be covered by it. In that sense, it becomes a much cheaper option. However, if you have virtual machines, then it can be more expensive. Also, if you have a lot of physical machines the cost can be higher because each entity will need a separate license. There is a monthly license cost."
"The license is a perpetual license. The cost is an area for improvement."
"Our licensing fees are on a yearly basis."
"The price is reasonable."
"You don't have to pay for licenses. You can pay per gig per month. It is pretty reasonable, especially when you do it per gig."
"This is an affordable product and fits within our customers' budgets."
"Our licenses come with a one-time yearly subscription fee."
"The pricing is reasonable. However, it depends on the storage that you use. It would be great to have a package that we can use up to a certain size of the backup, this would allow us to know what the price is going to be up to that capacity."
"The price of Dell EMC CloudBoost could be reduced, it is expensive."
"Its cost depends upon the amount of data that needs to be protected."
