A good tool that's great for modelling and building heat maps
During the first 18 months, for at least three months, we tried to get some training. We started working on the modeling part and we are still evolving in this tool. There are a few recommendations that have been put to the vendor, and we've gotten some answers and the team is evolving the tool in this space. I don't have anything to complain about right now, although there are a few things that we are discussing with the team who is connecting with the vendor to get that resolved. Specifically, we need to understand how the data could be segregated. We need to know how the enterprise-level metadata and master data could be managed in this tool. There are multiple open questions.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It helps me to model the architecture at an enterprise level."
"The tool allows us to track the life cycle of products and resources. When the metadata is set up correctly, we can see where things are in their life cycle and how they fit into our processes. It helps us understand which core processes are active and whether any underlying elements need renewal. We can also keep tabs on the costs."
"There were lots of different requirements, and collaboration and review is one of the biggest things. There is also Office 360 integration, and there's flexibility to use it as a database as well."
"iServer is a solution that helps catalog enterprise architect solutions and catalog information."
"Tech support is very responsive. They solved issues within a prompt response time."
"This flexibility is the most helpful part in the standard version."
"The initial setup is easy."
"iServer is a very flexible platform for defining your own enterprise architecture model."
"I have to think less with this solution. It's simple."
"It has helped having data lineage in the business cluster, which is used as control artifacts."

Cons

"The tool's data lineage could be enhanced. It would be great to see the data flow and understand where it's going within the system."
"We need to understand how the data could be segregated."
"Enhancing integration options with ERP or ITSM-related solutions for triggering automated requests for process definitions, changes, and tracking them in the iServer."
"There could be features for process mining, process simulation, and analytics."
"The performance is slow, which is something that should be improved."
"The migration tool needs to be included in the main package, and not as a separate license."
"Cannot see which activities are control activities."
"The modelling needs improvement, specifically forecasting capabilities and scenarios."
"More visualization techniques and ways to report the data might be helpful."
"There can be some performance issues using the solution that should be improved. When you make modifications modify to files there are embedded data within that can take a while to process."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I use ADOIT's open-source version."
"It's about 13K to set up and 9K for the license for three months. I think it's about 20K a year, but we haven't firmed up on pricing yet because the price depends on how long we commit to the solution."
"The solution is cheaper than its competitors."
"The price of iServer is reasonable compared to other solutions."
"The product has a moderate pricing."
"Aim for the exact number of people who shall define/review approve and view the processes, as it will impact the cost."
"They offer annual subscriptions for developing countries, which are not affordable for small or medium businesses."
