Managed real-time data has powered low-latency personalization and reduced operational effort
Aerospike Cloud Managed Service can be improved in several ways. The learning curve is a challenge for beginners, especially compared to MongoDB or Redis, which are more user-friendly. Additionally, there is a smaller ecosystem with fewer tools and communities compared to MongoDB and Redis. While the managed service cost can be expensive for startups, large media enterprises may not feel the financial burden. Performance tuning is needed, as some areas still require faster processing for customers. We still receive complaints about the time it takes to load ads, and the query flexibility is limited, lacking a rich query language such as SQL or document databases. The needed improvements for Aerospike Cloud Managed Service include transparent pricing tiers similar to MongoDB Atlas, better developer enterprise UI for simplicity, a larger ecosystem and integration, simplified onboarding tutorials, and native analytics with stronger SQL-like query layers.

Outsourcing cloud operations has improved uptime and supports 24x7 incident monitoring
CDW Managed Cloud Services is useful for cloud operations, but there are areas for improvement such as pricing transparency and the onboarding process. Cloud migration and onboarding may require detailed planning and coordination, indicating that transitioning workloads and support responsibilities can take time. Another needed improvement is the dependency on an external managed team. Organizations may rely on a third-party provider for some operational activities, and there is a need for improvement from CDW Managed Cloud Services since internal teams may depend on external escalations or support processes. Regarding the onboarding process, cloud migration and onboarding may require detailed planning and coordination, indicating that transitioning workloads and support responsibilities can take time. Reporting granularity, including more customizable reporting and dashboard depth, could also improve operational insights, as teams may want deeper cloud performance or cost breakdown reports.

Pros

"Aerospike Cloud Managed Service has made everyone's life easier and reduced the efforts involved in the learning curve, helping us save around twenty percent of our time."
"Saving data into Aerospike in a NoSQL format is beneficial."
"After switching to Aerospike Cloud Managed Service, I have seen positive changes, including cost savings and the service being completely managed by the Aerospike team itself."
"Almost 4x improvement happened when we moved to Aerospike Cloud Managed Service."
"Aerospike is a NoSQL database, allowing us to store extensive data and perform read and write operations rapidly, resolving our inventory-related performance issues."
"Our expectations have been met in terms of services delivered on time, on budget, and on spec."
"What I like most about CDW Managed Cloud Services is that it is short and concise; it was about getting the configs in place, getting directly to the information we need when we need it, and then getting back focused on being profitable."
"CDW Managed Cloud Services enables us to deploy infrastructure services at our pace, not being limited by the availability of resources, providing us another team to review and monitor things for us so we can keep our team smaller as well as tap into a much larger pool of knowledge than what we have."
"Their proactive alerting is valuable. They'll try and apprise us of issues before they become problems. I find that very valuable."
"It has freed up staff time by not having them work on managing the infrastructure. We are able to spend time doing application administration, focusing on the long-term strategy of where we are going. The impact is that we are able to better leverage our investment in our application technology and offload infrastructure to CDW as part of their managed services."
"In regards to the cost of CDW Cloud Managed Services, when I consider the costs of engineering resources that can work in multi-cloud environments, the cost of downtime, and the cost of the time to reconcile complex bills from cloud providers, the benefit is immeasurable."
"CDW has performed great from a project management standpoint. We had set up our environment with our knowledge of how to set up the virtual servers in the cloud. They came back and did an analysis to help us with our savings. This was something we hadn't thought about, but actually helped us reduce some of the costs. The cost savings was about a third of the cost over three years."
"CDW Managed Cloud Services has impacted my organization very positively, with reduced operational overhead, improved cloud performance and reliability, better security and compliance posture, and enhanced business continuity."

Cons

"Enhancing performance would be beneficial."
"Enhancing performance would be beneficial. While it is already fast, the industry is continuously moving towards even faster solutions, and performance issues can become apparent."
"Aerospike Cloud Managed Service can be improved in several ways. The learning curve is a challenge for beginners, especially compared to MongoDB or Redis, which are more user-friendly."
"One improvement I think Aerospike Cloud Managed Service could make is adding more customizations because we have less control on the underlying infrastructure."
"Overall, I think Aerospike Cloud Managed Service is quite good, but I believe the UI console is functional and could be made better."
"I would like to see them improve when it comes to helping develop an interface to this environment that's more user-friendly. We're introducing people to the use of a type of cloud scenario that they're not familiar with. We have to train them on and teach them how it's implemented. Having a little bit better interface would be helpful."
"They can maybe improve the scheduling."
"Operationally, needed improvements include having customization and flexibility since standard service tiers may not fully fit all our needs."
"The pricing could always come down because cost is always a factor. Our business is always looking to reduce costs while getting the best services."
"CDW Managed Cloud Services is useful for cloud operations, but there are areas for improvement such as pricing transparency and the onboarding process."
"The ticket system is a little clunky for Managed Cloud Services. There is no ticket category for Managed Cloud Services, per se. It's a little awkward when trying to find a way to put a ticket in. It's just not streamlined enough and doesn't take you step-by-step. And it doesn't seem to have all the categories I need. If I'm putting in a ticket for AWS or AppStream, there is no category for them."
"The ticket system is a little clunky for Managed Cloud Services. There is no ticket category for Managed Cloud Services, per se."
"The infamous whiteboard still has some things to deploy from my standpoint and our primary business solution standpoint. So, there is always room to grow. There are a few security things that I would like to deploy, such as single sign-on so the email address and password are the login."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"It is a little more complex than I would like, but I think that's more AWS than CDW. CDW actually saves us money in regards to the way they handle things. We get support without a six-figure commitment from the AWS side, and that's appreciated."
"We have used CDW’s free Recommendation Engine. That is what we use for the cost savings. It helped us find places to reduce our cloud costs."
"The biggest factor for us was cost, and at the time, CDW Managed Cloud Services was most efficient for what we needed."
"CDW Managed Cloud Services will not be cheaper than what you are doing on-premises. It will be more expensive."
"The cost is very competitive and appropriate for what we get."
"A lot of people see the cost, and they are like, "Well, that is a lot if we already have an internal IT person." It's like, "Well, you're not just getting that." You are getting access to resources and peace of mind, to say, "I don't have to worry about this server dying at 2:00 in the morning because these guys will handle it." I will wake up, and if there would have been a problem, it would have been addressed. It would have been notated and fixed."
