Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Manager Of Global Procurement at a tech vendor with 10,001+ employees
Centralized contract repository has improved visibility and supports detailed spend analysis
Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) could be improved in the area of catering more from a CLM perspective. Unlike vendors in this area like Ariba, Coupa, Icertis, and Ivalua, which also provide the sourcing side—RFX, RFP, RFI, auction—through the tool, that area within Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) is lacking. I would be happy to see those modules well-placed and well-balanced based on how other competitors are catering to that requirement. I would also like to see various enhancements within the dashboard and customization based on client and customer requirements. That is something that I would like to see more within the dashboard and the tool. If I had to pick one area where Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) could be improved, it would be better slice-and-dice options within the dashboard. That is something that is very important and critical for me. I chose 8 out of 10 because there are certain areas where Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) would need to look at what their competitors are doing. CLM is a very hot area for procurement because it is used by direct and indirect procurement folks. Based on those requirements, use cases, and especially based on what clients need and how their competitors are performing, I think there is room for improvement on the enhancement side, improving the overall customer experience on the dashboard, having more layouts, and having the option to slice and dice the spend and the orders. It would also be good to have different charts and infographics based on the contracts that have been uploaded, which provides a picture to the procurement person. For example, when they are doing a renewal or want to work with the same vendor, it provides some sort of ammunition to make an informed decision and ensure that the data coming out of the tool represents factual insights. This will help drive savings, better outcomes with the supplier, and better stakeholder engagement. It is all linked to how the tool can be more efficient and effective.

Senior Product Manager at a university with 10,001+ employees
Doesn't require a background in analytics to run reports
SMART has been helpful for sourcing and public bids. For regulatory purposes, our university posts bids, depending on the scope of the bid. We get a lot of value out of SMART's ability to post to a public site and have suppliers see that information, register in the tool, and participate. SMART features for collecting information and its timeline capabilities are highly useful. Then on the contract side, the reporting capabilities are the most valuable. Our use case focuses primarily on post-execution and lifecycle management, so it's essential to be able to report accurately especially compliance-related reports. SMART is easy to use, especially when reporting. It isn't designed for a hardcore analyst. You don't need to have a background in analytics to run reports, which is huge. I realized I hadn't touched too much on the spending side, but we use SMART for all spending analytics, and any commodity manager procurement professional can go in and run a spending report. That was a business decision to restrict who can run reports since that data can be exported and used. But the reporting capabilities are incredibly easy to use.

Pros

"AA helped our clients to achieve their goals faster and more efficiently, also reaching ROI very quickly."
"Automation Anywhere saves time and money."
"It provides, not only hard benefits, but also soft benefits, leaving the human mind free of all voluminous repetitive tasks so workers can do the work that they are intended to do, which is thinking."
"Document automation has notably reduced manual effort."
"Automation Anywhere stands out because it has brought productivity to the organization, improved customer service, accelerated business growth, and allowed for faster innovation."
"My company uses AA extensively for internal BPO work as well as we refer and deploy it to the customer as a RPaaS model, helping increase productivity, reduce overall operational costs, and deliver fewer errors while proving to be a reliable workhorse during the COVID situation."
"After using AA for some of the flows, we identified that the execution time was reduced by 70% when compared to the other automation tool that we have been using for 8 years."
"We have seen more efficient processing and less number of errors due to quality control."
"Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) makes it easier to share links within our teams by providing a centralized contract repository, which I need in the global procurement area where I work on various contracts: mid-size contracts, lower-hanging fruit contracts, and the big-ticket contracts."
"It is obvious to me that Agiloft can handle much more than contract management, as the specific requirements that were not part of Agiloft's initial configuration were implemented seamlessly."
"Safe Horizon has successfully implemented the Agiloft Contract Management System as tailored to meet the specific needs of our organization’s contract approval and renewal workflow."
"Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) has helped us realize what we were lacking and helped us choose a replacement vendor that was better suited to our needs."
"When we launched Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Managment (CLM), it was a much-needed contract management system in my past role, solving a big problem for us in terms of contract intake, negotiation, management, as well as providing a centralized repository that we used as our source of truth for audit purposes, which had a huge impact on us in being compliant."
"Project HOME has easily recovered its initial capital outlay in the first year from simple centralization and automated approval tracking."
"We have been working with Agiloft Contract Management Suite for the past 6 months and have found it an extremely useful and user friendly solution to our contract management challenge."
"With Agiloft, everything is organized in one place, with data in tables and our own archival elsewhere in our cloud."
"From a contract perspective, in my opinion, SMART has improved things a hundred-fold."
"Among the most valuable features are the ability to send out purchase orders, create catalogs, and accept invoices through procurement. And the reporting function is robust."
"The one we use the most is the sourcing module... It's really easy to use. You don't have to train vendors. You can add a new vendor at any time, and that vendor will get an email saying, "You've been selected to participate in our RFP, and you do X to get your ID set up." That works really well."
"It's a huge efficiency tool and it has really accelerated our ability to drive the procurement business case in terms of cost savings."
"The sourcing module is a place we can always go to find all the information we submitted to a vendor and what they submitted back to us, and it is really meaningful and effective in getting that information out to the vendors."
"In terms of ease of use, GEP has done a lot of work through its enhancements over the years to make the user experience more intuitive. There is a more standard-Amazon-like experience, where manuals and tutorials are not really required, simply because the user experience and what's on the screen are pretty intuitive."
"I love it because everything is done within the contract module. The previous tool that we had really acted more as a repository, whereas this is the lifecycle. Once a business owner gets to the point where they want to enter into a contractual relationship with a party, from that point, including the drafting of it through to the signature on it, it covers the lifecycle. It's from the beginning to the end to even the archiving. It's all done within the tool, including e-signature."
"Their tool has become a much better tool over the years."

Cons

"I would like it to have AI and ML capabilities."
"It would be better to make it more user-friendly so that individuals with no experience can pick it up pretty quickly."
"Most of the Excel commands such as filtering and removing duplicates are not available."
"Pricing is too high for small-scale groups. The Control Room yearly fee is high, making it difficult to break even."
"The GUI can be improved by making it more user-friendly."
"Intelligent automation is currently a buzz and I would love to see more innovation in this segment."
"The basic features are acceptable, but advanced tools often require deeper technical expertise, which can slow adoption. Additionally, some users experience delays in customer support for complex issues."
"We could use more accuracy with IQ Bot."
"There are many improvement points for Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM)."
"Requests were clunky. Once we got it into the system, the process did not work well for redlining and negotiations."
"Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Managment (CLM) is very difficult to set rules and to follow based on contract type, as the mapping and the level of tech and coding that is needed for that requires developer skills."
"One possible area of improvement would be reporting."
"Every software can improve, so better integration with the Oracle financial system and out-of-the-box integrations would certainly add a lot more value, particularly for procurement and sales contracts."
"Agiloft Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) could be improved in the area of catering more from a CLM perspective."
"If there is an area for improvement, it would be in the mobile aspect."
"One area of improvement I would suggest Agiloft to focus on would be how users interact with attachments to records."
"We definitely have some asks for enhancements. One of the big ones we'd like to see is what we call "drag-and-drop." If I have an email that I want to maintain in the SMART record for whatever reason — for example, it has supporting information in it — I would love to be able to just drop that into the notes and attachments section without having to save it as a PDF and then upload it."
"One of the areas where they could do better is by creating more standard templates when it comes to IT cost."
"If our organization could use it as a full-fledged solution, then it would be valuable and give a return on investment. However, since we are not currently using it as a full-fledged solution, even facing some bugs and problems with the synchronization with some of the internal software, we are not able to use it in a full-fledged manner."
"There are certain things within the contracts module — how to upload the line items, for example — that could be done to make that utility a little more user-friendly, a little more like the sourcing module."
"For sourcing, we do see bugs from time to time."
"We didn't like their dashboard initially, but they responded to that very well. They've given us some customizable dashboards and have also made it so that the dashboards can be exported into PDF and other formats, so that we can share them with the rest of the company... That was a weakness at the beginning, but one that they have responded to adequately and we're really pleased with the result."
"There are no mechanisms for them to check up on how they refresh their data. So oftentimes, when we go into the tool and we don't see something, we alert them and they say, "Oh, the data hasn't been refreshed, so we'll go ahead and refresh it," and then what we're looking for pops up. We should not have to be the ones to tell them they need to refresh. There should be a mechanism in place for that."
"We didn't like their dashboard initially, but they responded to that very well."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Currently, it stands as one of the more expensive RPA tools available."
"AA comes at a more affordable price than the other tools."
"It is not cheap, with costs ranging between 700 to 800 dollars per month. While Power Automate is cheaper at 15 dollars per month, Automation Anywhere offers superior features, user-friendliness, and smoothness."
"We have established a CoE and we take our bot opportunities based on their ROIs. The best ROI opportunity goes to development first. Our ROI opportunities are compliance, profitable growth, productivity enhancements, productivity gains, number of hours the productivity saved, and resources not available that the work can be done by the bot. However, the single most important criteria that we use to measure ROI is how much time does the bot cut down from an analyst's work, as this has the best ROI. E.g., if an analyst is spending a 100 hours of work that a bot can do in one hour, we calculate the 99 hours saved as ROI."
"No one is balking at the cost. They are market rates and will change, but no one is saying, "That is ridiculous or impossible." They are saying, "Show me the ROI and prove that the cost is accurate.""
"It's cheapest among the competition, although bargaining is a must."
"I don't deal have cost specifics but I can say it is a tool that provides value for the money."
"Automation Anywhere falls within a mid-range price point when compared to other RPA tools on the market."

"If our organization could use it as a full-fledged solution, then it would be valuable and give a return on investment. However, since we are not currently using it as a full-fledged solution, even facing some bugs and problems with the synchronization with some of the internal software, we are not able to use it in a full-fledged manner."
"My advice is to think wisely when it comes to estimating the number of licenses that you will require. If you settle on a number too early and you need additional ones, then the extra licenses might be quite expensive."
