Integration with automation tools enhances customer sentiment analysis
Comprehend is a useful service for sentiment analysis as it analyzes customer transcripts to evaluate interactions between customers and agents. It provides scores indicating whether sentiments are positive, negative, or neutral. The integration with AWS services like DynamoDB and Lambda facilitates automated analysis, contributing to more informed assessments of customer interactions.

Unified data workflows have cut ticket processing times and are driving faster business insights
Databricks already provides monthly updates and continuously works on delivering new features while enhancing existing ones. However, the platform could become easier to use. While instruction-led workshops are available, offering more free instructional workshops would allow a wider audience to access and learn about Databricks. Additionally, providing use cases would help beginners gain more knowledge and hands-on experience. Regarding my experience, I was initially unfamiliar with the platform and had to conduct research and learn through various videos. I did find some instruction-led classes, but several of those required payment. The platform should provide more free resources to enable a broader audience to access and learn about Databricks. The platform itself is user-friendly and easy to use without complex issues, so I believe it does not need improvement in its core functionality. Rather, supporting aspects can be enhanced.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I am totally happy with AWS support, as they provide excellent solutions."
"Amazon Comprehend works with a large pool of doctors. They're building the product based on working with domain experts."
"Databricks has improved my organization by allowing us to transform data from sources to a different format and feed that to the analytics, business intelligence, and reporting teams. This tool makes it easy to do those kinds of things."
"Databricks serves as a single platform that can handle numerous end-to-end machine learning tasks."
"The initial setup phase of Databricks was good."
"The most valuable feature of Databricks is the notebook, data factory, and ease of use."
"The tool helps with data processing and analytics with large-scale data or big data since it is associated with managing data at a large scale."
"The ease of use and its accessibility are valuable."
"Specifically for data science and data analytics purposes, it can handle large amounts of data in less time. I can compare it with Teradata. If a job takes five hours with Teradata databases, Databricks can complete it in around three to three and a half hours."
"The processing capacity is tremendous in the database."

Cons

"It is a bit complex to scale. It is still evolving as a product."
"There is room for improvement in terms of accuracy. For example, when a sentence expresses a negative sentiment, such as 'I want to cancel my credit card,' it is crucial for the system to accurately identify it as negative."
"Overall it's a good product, however, it doesn't do well against any individual best-of-breed products."
"We often use a single cluster to ingest Databricks, which Databricks doesn't recommend. They suggest using a no-cluster solution like job clusters. This can be overwhelming for us because we started smaller."
"Support for Microsoft technology and the compatibility with the .NET framework is somewhat missing."
"Databricks has a lack of debuggers, and it would be good to see more components."
"Databricks is an analytics platform. It should offer more data science. It should have more features for data scientists to work with."
"There is room for improvement in visualization."
"There is room for improvement in the documentation of processes and how it works."
"The tool should improve its integration with other products."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"We find Databricks to be very expensive, although this improved when we found out how to shut it down at night."
"I do not exactly know the costs, but one of our clients pays between $100 USD and $200 USD monthly."
"The solution is based on a licensing model."
"I'm not involved in the financing, but I can say that the solution seemed reasonably priced compared to the competitors. Similar products are usually in the same price range. With five being affordable and one being expensive, I would rate Databricks a four out of five."
"Databricks uses a price-per-use model, where you can use as much compute as you need."
"Price-wise, I would rate Databricks a three out of five."
"Licensing on site I would counsel against, as on-site hardware issues tend to really delay and slow down delivery."
"The solution is a good value for batch processing and huge workloads."
