Reporting and forecasting have become more automated through intuitive data organization and flexible number calendarization
I do not have any improvements from my own end at this time. There are some specific features or functionality that I would like to see included in Anaplan in the future. From what we have been using, I do not think there is any specific one because we import and export numbers. Importing and exporting with CSV files is already available in Anaplan. I do not have any special requests from Anaplan. I still decided to give Anaplan an eight because I have not seen a specific dashboard on Anaplan. Anaplan could have a dashboard where you can see the flow of your numbers displayed on pictorials rather than just saying this is the number. Simple dashboards should be implemented.

Have found limited automation capabilities while configuration has remained complex despite reliable monitoring features
In terms of configuration, Red Hat Insights could use some improvement. When I deploy Red Hat, the installation means a pure vanilla installation where you run and install a product out of the box, but deployment involves configuration plus all necessary tooling to run that product, which requires human input to complete the installation, configurations, and integration. Red Hat Insights has very limited automation; it only detects anomalies and triggers corrective actions for compliance issues, something which I found lacking when compared to other tools I've used.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution works very well for budgeting."
"Anaplan paid for itself with what it saved on new hires."
"Since we began using Anaplan, our firm has been very organized, and we have been gradually moving up in the market."
"Anaplan's strongest feature is that its GUI is very modern and user-friendly."
"Anaplan has eased a major pain point in mapping multidimensional data by combining all the necessary dimensions into a single tool, making it much easier for managers to understand the data coming in from their reps."
"You don't need to have a programming language to use Anaplan."
"The multidimensionality helps significantly with scenario planning, allowing me to run various scenarios and check the outcomes, which suits my needs well."
"I believe Anaplan is a new cloud tool, and from time to time, there's a lot of improvement that the Anaplan company deploys with the system. So, with that improvement, we need to really adapt and know the new system trends."
"The tool is simple and easy to use. It has good support and doesn't have many outages due to the OS."
"RHEL enables us to deploy applications and emerging workloads across bare-metal and virtualized environments and I find those workloads to be extremely reliable. The reliability is so good that I rarely find myself calling Red Hat support any longer. Support is the first benefit of using RHEL, but the second thing is that the platform is so stable that the need to use support is negligible."
"RHEL is the most reliable Linux flavor in terms of enterprise governance. I prefer it for its code stability, support, and integration. The lifecycle management features help us maintain compliance and keep the components updated."
"The most valuable feature of Red Hat Insights that I have found is the proactive information on issues that you don't see but are possibly going to happen in the environment."
"It identifies bugs and security vulnerabilities."
"Overall, I think that this is a good product."
"The product is optimized for resource utilization."
"The most valuable features of Red Hat Enterprise Linux are the mobile applications and getting real-time notifications."

Cons

"I still decided to give Anaplan an eight because I have not seen a specific dashboard on Anaplan. Anaplan could have a dashboard where you can see the flow of your numbers displayed on pictorials rather than just saying this is the number."
"The integration technique should be a little bit easier."
"The tool needs to work on its integration with MS Excel and MS Word. The tool does not allow data analysis in spreadsheets which is possible on other platforms. I want the solution to be more collaborative to facilitate decision-making in organizations."
"Right now, we haven't seen any ROI from using Anaplan."
"The dashboard could be better. Because within a dashboard or report, you have to do a lot of scrolling. You need to scroll down because the table doesn't fit in a single view. That's why even the users aren't happy with that kind of user experience. They need to scroll to see all the data, and it could be better if it fits in just one page. That way, you can see everything. In the next release, I want automation that's connected to Anaplan. For example, to load master data from SAP to Anaplan. I don't know if this already exists, but a log where you can see the progress and see if there's an error will also help. It would be better to give you the error message, for example, if there is an error within the automated process importing to Anaplan."
"Space and integration are a problem."
"There is a chance of improvement for the history. In Anaplan back-end model, if there is any change, it is captured in the history, however, on the front-end UX page, if there are any changes on the UX page, there is no history captured."
"One improvement that could be added to Anaplan is to stabilize the models when data complexity increases, allowing us to manage our time and space well."
"All resources should be available on the website."
"Sometimes, the product has outages that affect the site's ability."
"The cockpit server doesn't work and is useless. I don't like the images shown in GCP. I prefer the ones in AWS. It seems like the solution is in tune with what we deploy on the private cloud."
"Red Hat Insights has very limited automation; it only detects anomalies and triggers corrective actions for compliance issues, something which I found lacking when compared to other tools I've used."
"The improvements, in my opinion, have to be done in the infrastructure of the Red Hat Satellite, it is very complex."
"What could be improved dramatically is the ability to have it used by an enterprise, which means to interlock with Ansible Automation Platform first."
"I also want the co-pilot to provide more granular control and more features in the GUI, so we can have one configuration from the GUI itself. It would be helpful to have a feature similar to the one in Windows where we can manage all the net flows from one console in a single pane of glass and install it on-premises like an admin center. It would be great if Red Hat had some kind of admin center to manage all the RHEL boxes without using an additional product like Satellite or something, we could use the co-pilot on all the systems to monitor the dashboard."
"I would like to see improvements made to the subscriptions and management of them."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"This is a yearly subscription. So a customer initially buys a workspace and specifies how much GB they want. The minimum starts at around 30 GB. You can buy multiple workspaces."
"Anaplan is a bit pricier compared to its competitors - the license costs about $4,000 per user annually."
"The cost of Anaplan is a challenge for clients, especially if they don't have an ongoing long-term use case for it. It's a $50,000 licensing fee just to get started. Clients need a strong business case to switch from Excel to Anaplan. But if clients have used something similar in the past, such as Hyperion or other solutions, that's not a factor because they know what to expect."
"A value-for-money product and a very reasonable price compared to competitors like SAP or IBM."
"The license is a yearly subscription. There are three licensing tiers: the model builder, planner, and the reporting."
"The price of the solution is expensive."
"This is an expensive product and if the price were reduced then it would attract more customers."
"We are currently using a free workspace license for 90 days. We are satisfied with the price of the solution. There are additional costs if you want more storage, the default limit is 250 GB."
"Regarding the prices, the new changes are actually not bad as it works for enterprise solutions."
"The prices are comparable, and good for what is being provided."
"RHEL is expensive. We have changed the cloud provider's subscription to a pay-as-you-go model."
"If you have a subscription to Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Insights is free."
"This is not a cheap solution but it gets you the support if you ever need it."
