Centralized code analysis has improved my workflow and prioritizes critical vulnerabilities
Apiiro offers several features that I consider the best, such as the ability to have multiple developers and AppSec professionals working on the same project, and through the platform, we can see the number of vulnerabilities, generate reports, and integrate Snyk within our workflow. Before the code goes to production, Apiiro can read all that code and determine if everything is okay or if improvements are needed. The reports generated by Apiiro and its integration with Snyk contribute to my development process by giving us visibility into what is actually vulnerable, as automation like Apiiro makes it much easier to track vulnerabilities without spending too much time manually checking for issues, thus generating meaningful reports afterward. Apiiro manages permissions very effectively, which is interesting from an organizational standpoint because it allows us to separate which people can access a given project and designate project administrators who can approve or reject changes once a fix is made. I found the accuracy and reliability of Apiiro's results to be very good, as it can predict issues based on its existing data.

Simplifies vulnerability discovery and has high quality support
There are areas for improvement with OWASP Zap, particularly in the alignment of vulnerabilities concerning CVSS scores. Sometimes, a vulnerability initially categorized as high severity may be reduced to medium or low over time after security patches are applied. This alignment with the present severity score and CVSS score could be improved.

"Apiiro's secrets detection feature has saved us several times, which we appreciate greatly."
"The positive impact I have seen from working with Apiiro for my company includes the metrics that we get from Apiiro, which have been extremely helpful."
"OWASP Zap is straightforward to use. If someone doesn't have the budget for tools like Burp Suite, OWASP Zap is an excellent alternative."
"The most valuable feature is scanning the URL to drill down all the different sites."
"If you're a company and you've got your own websites, internally and externally, it's great."
"One valuable feature of OWASP Zap is that it is simple to use."
"The solution is very easy to use, the initial setup is straightforward, it is free due to the fact that it is open-source, the stability is very good, and the product has a strong community surrounding it to help with issues and troubleshooting."
"Automatic updates and pull request analysis."
"The solution is good at reporting the vulnerabilities of the application."
"The pull request analysis is also very good."

Cons

"User management is a little bit clunky."
"The UI sometimes helps but can also be a bit confusing."
"I would like support for our self-hosted Git server, other than GitHub, just regular Git."
"My first feedback for Apiiro is that it is very slow, extremely slow."
"The documentation needs to be improved because I had to learn everything from watching YouTube videos."
"Zap could improve by providing better reports for security and recommendations for the vulnerabilities."
"The automatic scans need improvement. The automated vulnerability assessments that the application performs needs to be simplified as well as diversified."
"We're currently moving away from OWASP to PortSwigger Burp Suite Professional; it's more user-friendly with a better interface."
"Online documentation can be improved to utilize all features of ZAP and API methods to make use in automation."
"Right now, I can't give it off to a team and expect them to give me a report that I'm happy with."
"I'd like to see a kind of feature where we can just track what our last vulnerability was and how it has improved or not. More reports that can have some kind of base-lining, I think that would be a good feature too. I'm not sure whether it can be achieved and implement but I think that would really help."
"Too many false positives; test reports could be improved."
