Advanced protection has secured critical web workloads and provides clear traffic visibility
From a security perspective, there remains a security loophole, as some browsers in the market can bypass the Turnstile solution, which requires approximately 40 seconds to do so. From a performance perspective, this is acceptable. We also tried Google reCAPTCHA, and that can also be bypassed. From a security perspective, I would say neither solution is completely secured. Regarding uptime, we have faced a couple of incidents due to Cloudflare in recent years, so I cannot say we receive 100% uptime for our region. We sometimes face challenges, including downtime and other issues. As a result, we are not receiving 100% uptime from Cloudflare's solution. Since most of our customers are in this region, we need alternatives. We need something more competitive than Cloudflare. Unfortunately, in Bangladesh, Cloudflare has three points of presence already, and we cannot find any other solution provider in Bangladesh as an alternative, which presents another challenge. Competitor solutions have more attack signatures, which ensure better security compared to Cloudflare's predefined configurations. Customers do not have options to modify any configuration parameters in Cloudflare, whereas other competitor solutions, such as F5 Distributed Cloud, allow customers to tune configurations according to their requirements. Cloudflare could improve in this area. Additionally, regarding visibility, Cloudflare has static visibility, but they could adopt dynamic graph features for their customers.

Customer interface and support have impressed while artificial intelligence features drive confidence
Arbor DDoS has some difficult pricing rules. For many different small features, we have to pay additional fees for every small feature. If we compare it, it is slightly high and not very affordable. If I compare it to automobiles, when you buy Volkswagen and then consider Skoda, for the cheapest way, you would buy Skoda. But if you want similar features to Volkswagen, you have to pay a little bit more than for Volkswagen. As I mentioned, a good way would be to buy some package of features at small prices. That is one of my recommendations for the company. I would like to see a roadmap for one or two years, and it is tough to predict what will happen in that timeframe without a clearer description.

Effective network and DDoS protection with suitable pricing
I use Corero for network DDoS protection projects. It is particularly effective in providing protection against network DDoS attacks I find Corero to be good, especially in a wide area. It does not have application filtering or application DDoS prevention, but for network DDoS projects, it is…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Cloudflare makes it easier for me to handle and set up DNS for multiple users and multiple clients, and basically go in and access their account, make the changes they need, and it's a one-stop shop."
"The technical support on offer is excellent; they are very helpful and responsive, and we are quite happy with the level of service they provide to their customers."
"Cloudflare DNS is widely used, and it's good for websites. If we use Cloudflare DNS and update one record, it updates in their office instantly."
"The technical support is good."
"DDoS attacks target unprotected machines. Cloudflare detects and stops these attacks using internal systems. It identifies incoming DDoS attacks, issuing challenges or blocking them immediately."
"CloudFlare has positively improved my site's speed, performance and security."
"The setup and configuration is also easy to perform and their support is excellent."
"The features of Cloudflare were found to be more beneficial and led to the decision to utilize it over other options."
"Arbor DDoS is used for network protection if you have a DDoS attack, it keeps the session or information moving."
"The solution provides good protection against volumetric DDoS attacks."
"Because this Arbor DDoS product is the best, I do not need to spend time supporting it."
"The solution is really stable and is the most stable device in our topology."
"It's very flexible and we can easily deploy it to our network. It's very user-friendly. We can do everything via the web interface and troubleshoot easily from the CLI. It's not complicated."
"Inside this product, there are many different configurations for protection, and we have one of the best experiences with it, specifically with the Atlas product."
"The analytics part of Arbor DDoS is great, and we are satisfied with the reporting and analytics part, especially the new version."
"In the seven years we have been using the tool, we have continued with availability of services as before, but today, without the Arbor solution, I believe we would have suffered quite a number of service availability issues."
"It is a very efficient and robust appliance."
"SmartWall devices occupy only one-fourth of the width of a rack unit, making them very easy to install."
"It is an agnostic and transparent inline platform, which means that the maximum visibility of the symmetric and asymmetric traffic is available, even allowing bidirectional detection of the attack."
"It is a good solution, its vendor support is the most valuable, and it is simple and works well if you have Juniper MX routers."
"The most important aspect, in general, is that the price is suitable for most clients."
"The DDoS protection features are valuable."
"This is a hybrid solution."
"The most valuable feature of Corero is its ability to handle smaller attacks in terms of the amount of volume and time. You can handle almost 100 perfect of the attacks locally."

Cons

"I believe they currently have this feature, but there will most likely be integration with APIs so we can control some features through API."
"Areas like how assessment, discovery, and payload are dealt with and how it all comes into your organization can be considered when trying to make suggestions to Cloudflare for improvements."
"I rate technical support quite badly."
"Perhaps I would ask that they improve the Free plan and allow us to use it with any TLD (certain ones are not allowed)."
"The Always Online feature has room for improvement. It seems to work sometimes and not others even with the pro version."
"We are a product integrator and reseller, and we would like to have a better partner relationship, similar to a channel sales relationship. Sometimes we are on our own or get diverted by Cloudflare because they have direct sales, which competes with us and makes it difficult to build a relationship with this company since we want to be an MSP or a managed service provider for the solution."
"Cloudflare could be improved by introducing a mid-tier pricing option."
"Technical support is lacking."
"If we want to see live traffic, we can do so, but once an attack that lasts for five minutes is done, the data is no longer there."
"Based on my experience and feedback from colleagues, Arbor can make better use of the product because you have to spend a lot of time finding information in a huge number of papers."
"The solution's IT support needs improvement."
"Arbor DDoS has some difficult pricing rules. For many different small features, we have to pay additional fees for every small feature."
"The solution could be more granular to include logs per second and enhanced pipeline monitoring for router licenses."
"The product could have end-to-end platform visibility."
"The upgrade process is mildly complex requiring treatment of the custom embedded OS separately from the application. The correlation of the underling OS to the application version can be easily missed."
"Arbor Pravail APS devices do not sync features or config the backup enough. This needs to be improved."
"The approach taken by Corero is to partner with other organizations in order to address volumetric attacks that cannot be handled by the hardware installed in the infrastructure. Corero does not have a solution for these attacks, so they are looking for partners to help them manage them. This approach is supplemented by local hardware, but the main focus is on the partnerships. It would be beneficial to have a more complete solution."
"I'd like to see an increase in Corero's international team. Our clients are generally companies with an international presence and Corero is not represented in all the countries where our clients have presence."
"It could use support in Spanish."
"Juniper is known in our country, but it is not very popular. There is also not enough information about Corero. Our enterprise and financial sectors don't know about this solution. They need to provide more information and do more marketing for this solution in our country."
"Juniper is known in our country, but it is not very popular."
"Lacks international presence."
"Corero needs to improve its application DDoS prevention capabilities and user behavior detection features."
"The product must provide more Layer 7 capabilities."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The cost primarily depends on the size of the organization."
"It's a premium model. You can start at zero and work your way up to the enterprise model, which has a very high pricing level."
"We don't have any issues with the price."
"The tool is a premium product, so it is very expensive."
"The solution is expensive when compared to other products but offers unlimited bandwidth."
"There are no additional costs beyond the standard licensing fees."
"The price of the solution is expensive."
"The product's pricing is minimal compared to other products."
"Our customers always complain about the price of the product."
"I don't know about the pricing details as our company's service provider offers us the solution as an inbuilt feature within the internet bandwidth they provide us."
"Arbor is striking a good balance between pricing and what they deliver."
"The solution is a bit costly if you're a small organization, but I think it's worth the price that they are charging."
"Start with a small license. Measure your bandwidth requirements."
"The pricing of the solution is cheap."
"There is room for improvement with the pricing. It is an expensive solution. The issue with the pricing is more the way it is built. Right now we're paying per router, and there's a limitation there. I would like to see bundle-pricing where there is an overall solution cost."
"You need to find a way to get a good offering from Arbor by negotiating a price. That is the challenge."
"Its price is normal."
"The price of Corero is affordable."
