Stays ahead of threats with fast alerts and improves compliance documentation for investor readiness
The best features Arctic Wolf Managed Detection and Response offers are its time sensitivity. It alerts us right away if an anomaly occurs. The time sensitivity helps our team by making our response faster in case it's an actual attack, which luckily hasn't happened yet. Speed is definitely one of the best features of Arctic Wolf Managed Detection and Response. The documentation is really good with Arctic Wolf Managed Detection and Response, making filling out our NIST and incident response really easy. Arctic Wolf Managed Detection and Response has positively impacted my organization as it's an added layer of security, which has been really good. It also helped us stay up to date with our security posture so we can work better with investors who require certain paperwork or security postures. Arctic Wolf Managed Detection and Response has helped with investor requirements by assisting us with incident response paperwork, providing a score for NIST 2.0 framework rating, and allowing us to easily fill out documentation for bigger investors like Merrill Lynch so we can continue to work with them.

Advanced detectors streamline threat monitoring with many use cases
Hunter support is functional yet not exceptional. Their support engineers could be more advanced and faster in providing solutions. Their turnaround time could improve to match other tools. When feedback is provided, they consider it and indicate if it is in the development stage. They commit to fixing bugs and developing the module or feature, however, take quite a lot of time. I would rate their customer support as needing improvement. Another area needing improvement is integration capabilities, as they are not yet fully compatible. Users still have to rely on third-party software or integration tools. Furthermore, they should incorporate more GenAI capabilities, a current buzzword, and enable predictive use cases. Their tools should be capable of reading the environment, making adaptations, and automatically tweaking settings as per client or environmental needs, similar to capabilities provided by other SIEM tools.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"With Arctic Wolf AWN CyberSOC, they can save, in a lot of cases, hundreds of thousands of dollars by not hiring a security team."
"I rate the overall solution nine out of ten."
"The agents give pretty good visibility into what is happening at the endpoint."
"Security protection is the best feature of this product; we get alarms or notifications when unauthorized access occurs, and it's the reason we subscribe to the service because it's a user friendly product."
"The best features Arctic Wolf Managed Detection and Response offers include providing an up-to-date view of the vulnerabilities that exist in the network."
"The visibility into our endpoints is huge."
"What's valuable about Arctic Wolf AWN CyberSOC is the cost savings it provides for companies that no longer have to hire a bunch of security people and pay for a SIM."
"I highly recommend Arctic Wolf as they excel in ensuring the company is well-trained and updated on industry developments."
"Other SIEM tools base their license cost on the volume of data processed, often charging by how much TB or GB data is processed. Hunter, however, charges based on the number of data sources and the number of data entities integrated, which saves money."
"Hunter proactively provides a set of five to six hundred use cases, categorized based on cloud use cases, endpoint use cases, parameter use cases, and malicious use cases."

Cons

"More integrations with various security tools to improve data ingestion would be beneficial."
"I think Arctic Wolf Managed Detection and Response can be improved by addressing the high turnover with employees at the company, which made it hard to find a point person within the company to move transactions forward."
"It can sometimes take up to an hour to get notification of a problem and that's a long time."
"They focus on detecting administrator-level control compromises. Because they're focusing more on administrator-level compromise, they are less able to see if an individual user has been compromised."
"In the future, I would like to see a summary report."
"I would like to see them build the ability to co-sell an EDR platform, manage an EDR or manage the actual response, potentially from the issues that are coming up from the security risks."
"They could probably expand on their integration tools. They can integrate with more security tools."
"While they do inventory assets, including software inventory and CVE updates based on software subscriptions, would be a major improvement."
"Hunter support is functional yet not exceptional."
"Hunter support is functional yet not exceptional. Their support engineers could be more advanced and faster in providing solutions."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I rate the tool's pricing a nine out of ten."
"The pricing is fair."
"It is more expensive than CrowdStrike, but it also has more features. I don't remember the amount, but I do remember that it was on the higher side. I believe we have five sensors, and the sensors have a yearly cost. We don't have any additional costs, but I know that if we have more features, they will add to the cost."
"I find their pricing to be reasonable and competitive."
"The pricing is pretty competitive."
