Very user friendly but configurations can be a bit complex
We use the solution to access company information via the cloud.  The solution is very user friendly.  Configurations can be a bit complex.  I have been using the solution for two years.  The solution is stable.  Technical support is very helpful so I rate them a seven out of ten.  Neutral…

Has provided secure remote access for years but inconsistent support delays resolution
Regarding logging and management, while some of the logging is really good, other times it's not so great, and we've had to reach out to Check Point a few times for assistance, and the support we've gained hasn't been up to par with what Check Point usually offers as part of their support. When it comes to improvements, not specifically the remote access VPN, but the support associated with Check Point products has fallen over the last two years, and the response time is much worse, with the first layer of support lacking sufficient knowledge on how to troubleshoot issues.

Pros

"The solution is very user friendly."
"The solution is very user friendly."
"The best feature of Check Point Remote Access VPN is the control during the connectivity—whenever I connect to my organization's network, my PC is always connected to the private network, even whenever I connect to the internet."
"This solution has improved our organization by providing access to corporate resources in a secure fashion."
"Check Point Endpoint Remote Access VPN is without a doubt, really fantastic software."
"The majority of people say how excellent the remote access VPN service is and they stated that once connected to a VPN service, they never experience connectivity problems."
"A single login based on a second authentication factor is giving us the possibility of integrating third-party services for authentication based on a security scheme."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN provides good connectivity with an active-on feature that ensures all traffic flows through the firewall and is inspected according to our security posture checks, preventing unauthorized website access by employees and ensuring that any files they download are completely free from threats."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN provides strong security features, including encryption, authentication, endpoint security, access control, and centralized management."
"The most important feature of Check Point Remote Access VPN is the multiple factor authentication."

Cons

"Configurations can be a bit complex."
"Configurations can be a bit complex."
"The endpoint security VPN client sometimes feels heavy, and due to this, we have to install and uninstall it because of PC slowness. This aspect can be improved."
"Sometimes we have some small problems with Check Point Remote Access VPN. For example, problems with authentication."
"We are very happy with the Windows client. You log in with the VPN for the full client, you do the log in there. But for Linux machines, they don't have a full client to install. It is important because we have some users that use Linux and they don't have a specific application from Check Point to use. That is something that could be improved."
"Knowledge base documentation can be upgraded."
"We have noted some stability issues."
"We would like to implement HTML5 (clientless access) in the product without installing any additional software."
"The maximum it is giving us is only 5 licenses and if you need more, they must be purchased separately."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN can be improved by having more granular options to steer traffic, like easier configurations for split tunneling, which is currently complex."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"My understanding is that the pricing and licensing are very competitive, and it's not one of their more expensive products. We buy licenses for the solution and have licenses for the endpoint servers."
"The solution is pretty expensive. The rating is an eight."
"The price of this product is good."
"Organizations that already have the Check Point NGFW need to purchase an additional license to have access to the VPN functionality."
"Regarding pricing, as a global customer, we get a big discount. For us, it's a good return on investment. We need to pay for additional features we want to enable. It seems cheaper than other vendors, but I can't say what it would cost an average customer."
"The product is expensive. I rate its pricing a ten out of ten. For the cost of one product, we could purchase two or three Fortinet solutions with the same amount of money."
"There is a license required for this solution."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN is not expensive and the cost is annual."
