Efficient workflows and real-time updates boost productivity
What I appreciate about Asana is the easy way to get the data we need for the reports because we are moving all our tickets. We are making a copy from our main ticket system to Asana because our main ticket system is not giving us what we are looking for, so we need to process everything in Asana. We get the dashboard and analytical reports, so we can have a summary of what has been done in which department we are working with or helping. We can see how many requests for each department we are having. The easy way to get all the analytics at the end of the month or year is the most important feature, and that's why we are still with Asana. The benefits I see with Asana are the main tools because of the integration this tool has. For example, we are making tickets but receiving requests through email, and we have the integration with Outlook and Google. We have the add-ins, so we are making the ticket on our main system while replying to the mail, and simultaneously taking this mail to complete our ticket for our Asana project. The time we are investing through departments with Asana is valuable because we are receiving requests or updates for projects without investing time in meetings or writing emails. Because of the integration we have, we just create a project and everyone with specific tasks moves on their tasks, and we receive the updates. We created a bot that gives us updates automatically. Asana provides automation because we receive these updates the moment they happen without anyone needing to tell us they completed tasks or moved on to others. Asana's cloud deployment has been beneficial for our remote or hybrid team operations. If someone is onsite and someone is working from home, everyone can work on the same project through automation. The person from home doesn't need to be on an infinite call with management or coworkers. They can work in real time, and once someone completes a prerequisite task from home, the people onsite will know it and get the green flag to continue their assigned tasks. It has benefits for anyone, including personal uses.

Efficient project planning with advanced impact and delay analysis features
You need to have a good understanding of project management before you build programs using P6. Learning the tool takes time, so you should spend hands-on time with it while developing your project management skills. It's a mix of hands-on work and project management skills. I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Asana provides a lot of options and a lot of customization to give the best efficient way for your business to operate. For example, I can customize my tasks, tables, and pipelines the way I want them to fit my business model. It's easy and highly customizable."
"The solution's user interface is very good."
"My task box displays all of our tasks, organized by day, helping us to focus on what needs to be done each day."
"What I like most about Asana is its simplicity. For example: we're not the only ones using it, and we onboard our customers to it, and normally, they have no questions."
"I really enjoy the portfolios in Asana. One of the ways Asana stands out to me is with portfolios. You can have all your different projects, and you can have those assigned to different teams. If you want to customize a grouping of projects, you can use portfolios. For instance, one of the things that we do is we can assign a portfolio to a specific strategic objective we have, and we can put all those projects that are related to that strategic objective in that portfolio. We then know exactly what people are working on to help us achieve our goals. So, I really like portfolios."
"The only thing I love about the product is that it is beautiful."
"It is very good for managing the timeline. I'm a quality manager, and I have different testing projects running with different work breakdown structures. Asana makes it very easy to implement and monitor the plans. It is easy to move the tasks and complete them, break them down, and assign them to people."
"Asana, despite its compact size, proves to be incredibly valuable. When initiating a project, it offers the ability to generate a personalized form for clients. In this particular context, my clients include the customer success team and solution architects. This feature allows me to provide them with a convenient means to submit their requests, resembling a ticketing system geared towards internal operations. Moreover, it enables efficient allocation within my team. For instance, if a question pertains to customer success, I can assign it to the CSOps manager and the team. Similarly, if it relates to a specific channel, it can be allocated accordingly."
"The most valuable features were the cost breakdown structure and work breakdown structure."
"The most valuable feature of Oracle Primavera Portfolio Management is accuracy."
"The integration with Unifier, which is also an Oracle tool, ensures that the data is correct and timely."
"The most valuable features were the cost breakdown structure and work breakdown structure."
"It is very, very good in planning for large projects."
"Delay analysis and extension of time claims are some of the key features."
"The solution's tech support is good."
"The ability to streamline the process of obtaining signatures from our contractors is valuable."

Cons

"Their workflows and automation could use a big improvement. I don't even know if they have anything in that regard right now. I would really love to see a way where you can send custom alerts based on a task's completion or status change or an approval coming through. I would love to see a way to get some low-code functionality into Asana because right now, that is a big miss."
"There is room for improvement in integrating Asana with different technology vendors."
"The product's page is not user-friendly."
"We don't get enough notifications."
"This solution has a learning curve, where it is initially difficult to use."
"We'd like the capability to be able to set up weekly reminders."
"The stability of Asana is good. However, there are some issues with maintenance, when the solution is down. For example, there might be maintained for a few hours where we cannot use the solution."
"Some customizations and functions are still not available, however, so far, they haven't been a deal killer."
"The scalability has room for improvement."
"Primavera could be better integrated with other products, and it needs more cost management features."
"There is scope for development in integrating with some AI products."
"They should work on integrating the solution with ERP."
"There is a need for improvement in the interfacing and possibly better integration with other programs."
"The solution's user interface is an area with shortcomings that need improvement."
"There is scope for development in integrating with some AI products."
"For us in LATAM, the pricing is extremely high. That is why I only work with oil and gas and mining industries because they have substantial budgets."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I can describe Asana's pricing as a sweet spot since it is neither very high nor very low, especially regarding the value Asana adds to its products...In our company, we use 50 percent of the features provided by Asana, because of which we only pay 50 percent of Asana's total cost."
"Price-wise, I think it's an affordable option for mid to large-sized companies."
"It has a free version."
"We're on the business tier, which is $25 a month if you're on an annual contract. It's $31 if you're on a month-to-month contract. In my experience, there are no hidden costs with Asana. I know Smartsheet has these add-ons that you can buy, which is an additional cost, but Asana doesn't have any add-ons that I know of. When you're trying to scale the product and want to add users, you have to do it in buckets of five. This is also something to consider."
"This solution is reasonably priced."
"The price of the solution is reasonable."
"There is a free version of Asana, but we use the paid version to receive all the features we want. The overall price is reasonable."
"We paid a monthly licensing fee for the product."
"The solution is highly priced compared to one of its competitors."
"My company has made an annual payment towards the costs of the solution. Price-wise, the solution is okay."
"Oracle Primavera Portfolio Management is an expensive solution. There is an upfront cost to purchase the solution and then there are annual fees to use the solution."
"The solution itself is cost-effective."
