Enables effective workload monitoring and data insights with powerful features
Microsoft Project Server is quite a powerful tool and offers a good way of seeing dependencies and interactions, along with baselines. The resource management feature allows us to monitor workload and resource load effectively. Additionally, the dashboards are amazing for data crunching and provide a project focus with upcoming predictions, including burn-up and burn-down charts.

It is beneficial to have the schedule updated so you can have control of the cost. When you have a change in the schedule, you can also make a change in the cost. For us, it is mostly important to control dates and to be on time, but also to know the cash flow. With both of our clients, they use Power BI extensively. Though it may not be the best solution, they have all the tools connected to Power BI, which they primarily use for reporting. The integration with Unifier, which is also an Oracle tool, ensures that the data is correct and timely. The connection between Oracle Primavera Portfolio Management and Unifier is not difficult to establish, and the information obtained is really reliable.

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Microsoft Project Server is more expensive than other solutions on the market. We purchase the license annually."
"It is an inexpensive product."
"A standard license is cheaper, but if you want more features, then there is a premium license or professional license."
"The technical assistance is expensive but the solution is an open source software."
"I would rate the price a six out of ten."
"It has features that cannot be bought by other rivals, so cost does not matter."
"I think they need more flexibility with licensing, because there are preconceived ideas that don't allow as much flexibility with the various licenses."
"I'm not quite sure about the licensing costs. We're probably paying somewhere in the neighborhood of about 80,000 to 90,000 a year for our current on-prem because we handle our own licensing. As far as Project Online is concerned, we're still trying to get a good handle on that. It looks like it is going to be in a neighborhood of about 120,000 to 150,000 a year, but we're getting a lot more capability out of it."
"The solution itself is cost-effective."
"My company has made an annual payment towards the costs of the solution. Price-wise, the solution is okay."
"Oracle Primavera Portfolio Management is an expensive solution. There is an upfront cost to purchase the solution and then there are annual fees to use the solution."
"The solution is highly priced compared to one of its competitors."
