Utilize Agile methodologies with efficient project management, yet seek improvements in resolving merge conflicts
SourceTree is one of the best tools from a UI perspective. However, I would prefer if SourceTree could address merge conflicts more easily. Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code, providing a comprehensive tool for both development and code management, is favored because it can serve as both a development tool and a client for pushing or pulling code, resolving conflicts efficiently. It would be beneficial if SourceTree could offer similar integrated functionalities.

Facilitates efficient branching and integration with flexible workflow management
Bitbucket Server excels as a versioning system, effectively managing branching and code integration. It provides flexibility, allowing teams to customize workflows according to their specific needs. We maintain a master branch for production and separate branches for different features, which makes it easier to manage code changes. Additionally, its integration with Jenkins pipelines for automating builds and performing various checks enhances its utility.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Atlassian SourceTree is a very stable product."
"The solution's initial setup process is straightforward."
"The interface is very good and is easy to use. It tells you when you've committed, when you've uploaded, and gives you the differences."
"The initial setup is straightforward."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to fix a broken repository merge."
"For me, the branches ' graph was the most valuable feature of Atlassian SourceTree. I often used the terminal, but during a demo, my boss preferred I not switch to the terminal view. SourceTree's graphical interface for managing branches was handy for that. The demo involved making changes, committing them, pushing to the CI/CD tool, running the pipeline, and seeing the integration, all within about twenty minutes."
"The tool's UI is good."
"The initial setup is straightforward. It takes half an hour to deploy."
"The most valuable feature of the Bitbucket Server is its ease of management. The solution is easy to manage once we migrate and set up the data. The solution offers a fast code push feature."
"Its standout features are the seamless integration with various intelligent tools and its user-friendly nature."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is server management."
"It is an easily scalable solution."
"Bitbucket Server is easy to use. You can use other applications to access it, or you can use it to access the internet. You can use solutions, such as Sourcetree, which is free, and put it on your development system and use it to do the check-in, checkouts, and those type of operations. It is nice, but some other developers may agree."
"The product is easy to maintain."
"The most valuable feature is that it has its own pipelines."

Cons

"Its interface could be easy to understand for a programmer."
"I have had a food experience with Atlassian SourceTree but it might not be for everyone."
"For everyday use, I am more comfortable using the command line interface, rather than using SourceTree."
"The visuals, including the UI and UX, have simple fonts, making it an area where certain enhancements can be done."
"The product's UI needs improvement."
"People think that Visual Studio Code is more intuitive and can serve dual purposes for development and as a client to push or pull code."
"The improvements in the product could be made to expand third-party integrations and enhance support for open-source projects."
"The response time of the product's support team may not be good enough to meet the expectations of users, making it an area where improvements are required."
"The platform's integration with other cloud services should be improved."
"Some of the capabilities that I am looking for from a command line are not really available."
"There are absolutely things that could be improved in collaboration features in Bitbucket Server, with respect to people who are not using it every day, such as managers who need to be able to approve things but don't use Bitbucket Server so often."
"There might be further integration ideas for continuous deployment."
"It would have been better to use Bitbucket Server if it had something similar to the concept called GitHub Actions since it allows GitHub to provide seamless integration of CI/CD pipelines."
"The product requires patching and version improvements. Some functions do not work properly when we move from one version to another. We need a technical improvement. Also, communicating with other Atlassian products becomes cumbersome when we move from one version to another. I want Bitbucket Server to include a dashboard similar to Jira's. Atlassian must also develop a tool to scan our complete base for vulnerabilities."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Atlassian SourceTree is a free solution."
"There is a fee for using SourceTree."
"I do not recall the exact pricing details for SourceTree, but generally, Atlassian products are affordable, and SourceTree typically comes as part of a suite."
"As for licensing, Bitbucket is one of the more affordable options."
"The solution comes as a part of the suite."
"One needs to pay towards the licensing charges associated with the product."
"The platform offers a free version for public repositories, which benefits open-source projects."
"The tool's licensing costs are yearly. Prices can become expensive if you have a lot of users."
"We opted for the on-premises solution, and while it's quite expensive, I believe there's room for improvement in terms of pricing. The licensing is based on the number of users, but I'm not entirely certain about the details."
"There is a cost to use this solution but it is based on how many users are using it. If you have 50 users or 1,000 users the price will be very different."
"Bitbucket Server is quite expensive compared to other products."
