Simplified integration with helpful support and decent pricing
Auth0 is used as an identity provider for our new SaaS platform to manage the identity of users Auth0 is cost-effective because it provides all the features we need, and it was very easy to integrate into our platform. The documentation is comprehensive, and their support team is highly helpful.…
Ben Ruset - PeerSpot reviewer
Streamlines access management with top-notch support, and a user-friendly interface, making it a highly effective solution for businesses of all sizes
During my evaluation of various products, one standout feature of OneLogin that impressed me was their mobile app for authentication through push notifications. Unlike traditional methods involving rotating codes, the OneLogin app simplifies the process by sending a push notification asking if the login attempt is legitimate. If confirmed, the login proceeds seamlessly. The primary benefit is its user-friendly interface, making it particularly accessible for non-technical users. One aspect I particularly appreciate is their exceptional customer support whenever I've needed assistance. Their sales team has also been highly responsive and helpful in connecting me with necessary resources, although we haven't faced any major challenges.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"If we had to develop our own and manage it, it would take years of development and maintenance. In those terms, it’s definitely beneficial."
"The valuable features are that it is extremely secure and that it's developer-friendly."
"It's a very powerful platform. It has the ability to do the usual stuff, according to modern protocols, like OIDC and OAuth 2. But the real benefit of using the platform comes from its flexibility to enhance it with rules and, now, with what they call authentication pipelines. That is the most significant feature, as it allows you to customize everything regarding the authentication and authorization process."
"The most valuable feature of the product is scalability."
"I simply use the JWT from the client on the server side to process requests and push updated profile data to a database/queue as needed and end the process without having to persist data in the web server (sessions)."
"It supports identity federation, FSO and multi-tenancy."
"The most valuable feature is interface application integration, but we haven't fully used it yet. We'll need it in the future for a few potential clients."
"It offers stronger security and flexibility with API keys, which are generated on runtime."
"One aspect I particularly appreciate is their exceptional customer support whenever I've needed assistance."
"The directory integration and SCIM provisioning are probably the best features compared to competitors."
"The most valuable feature is the ease with which we can manage the sign-on feature."
"The solution allows the user to search logs based on a specific time."
"Simplicity is the most valuable part of OneLogin."
"When it comes to access management, the solution's single pane of glass is extremely important. The single pane of glass for access management enables collaborative work between IT and security. We have access to certain applications that require device trust. Based on the role, we can access those applications through OneLogin Desktop."
"Documentation."
"In my role, the most valuable features are two-factor authentication and self-service password reset. The most helpful feature for the institution as a whole is probably the single sign-on. As an IT director, I care about security and ease of use."

Cons

"This is a costly solution and the price of it should be reduced."
"The Management API could be improved so it's easier to get user information."
"There is a possibility to improve the machine-to-machine authentication flow. This part of Auth0 is not really well documented, and we could really gain some additional knowledge on that."
"The product could use a more flexible administration structure"
"In the past, there was an issue with the multi-tenant where there wasn't the ability to manage them."
"The price modelling is a bit confusing on the site and can be costly."
"The pricing should be lower. A reduction of 20-25% would be great."
"I find it surprising that there is no access to a standard user profile."
"This product doesn't necessarily provide us with all of the functionality that we need, such as being able to share passwords with external users."
"They have downtime twice a year or once in six months. During the downtime, the SSO page did not come up. When users wanted to get to their email, they were redirected to the OneLogin page, but the page did not come up, and MFA and logins failed. It completely crippled us."
"To offboard, you have to manually click on this checklist, each of the checkmarks. It would actually be really nice if, for offboarding someone, you just click "offboard" and it automatically runs a script to do that."
"The solution keeps going down for many hours, which impacts the entire company. You can't access any applications. OneLogin Desktop has a huge problem where it locks your computers and you need to reset the whole computer, which is pretty insane."
"having a RESTful implementation instead of RPC would have been more desirable."
"More off-hour support."
"I would like better reporting from SmartFactor Authentication when a user is not able to sign in due to a new location, new IP, new device, et cetera."
"I'd like OneLogin to have a customization section that displays the company's offerings, categorized by different topics."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is a relatively inexpensive product in the industry."
"There are different price levels: B2B, B2C, and enterprise. The basic plan is about $1,500 per month."
"The tool is cheaper compared to competing solutions. Those alternatives tended to be more expensive. Consequently, Okta purchased it because it was considerably cheaper. The solution even offered some free services while still providing excellent functionality."
"Pricing of Auth0 is a pain point. Their pricing model is very confusing, at least for an enterprise. I don't like their pricing model. I think it's too aggressive. It's not very cheap for a service that only does authentication."
"I am pretty happy with the pricing model of Auth0. It is very clear for me. Considering our scale, the features that we are using, and additional features that we bought, we still find it great. If you split the costs for the whole year and calculate the number of people you needed to hire, it always comes out to be much lesser than what we would have spent on building our own solution."
"The pricing for OneLogin seems to be okay. The pricing and licensing are affordable. If you'd consider OneLogin to be expensive, it's worth it."
"The pricing and licensing are reasonable. It is much cheaper than other products."
"While I wish OneLogin's pricing was more affordable, their licensing model, which is based on per user, is acceptable."
"OneLogin's pricing, from the perspective of the education sector, seems quite reasonable for the value it delivers."
"Surprisingly expensive given the price of on-premise solutions."
"It was cheap in the beginning, and then it became very expensive. We were initially charged $2 per user per month, which was fine, but by the second year, they increased it to $5 per user. That became very expensive for us because we had about 1,500 users. At $2 per user, it comes out to be $3,000 a month, which is $36,000 a year. If we move to $5 per user, it comes out to be $7,500 a month. That made its cost so high. That is why we removed the product because the cost was high."
"The price of the licensing is fine."
"We were happy with the price we got when we signed up, but I don't know what will happen when the time comes to renew because it is a different company now. We haven't seen any pricing models or had that discussion yet. My renewal is a year and a half away. It's worth what we're paying for it. There's no way we could provide the level of service for cheaper or try to do the same in-house."
