Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Struggled to justify enterprise adoption but have valued broader developer accessibility
If I could change or add anything to improve C3 AI, I would suggest making it not just an AI platform, but a data and AI combined platform, as bringing in data management elements, governance, and cloud features is critical. The real AI and modeling represent only 20 percent of what is needed; there is over 80 percent in the rest of the world that should be addressed. Given Tom Siebel's deep understanding of corporate work and his network, integrating C3 AI with other ERP solutions such as Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft is essential. If C3 AI can be an enterprise platform, embedding more data elements and ensuring seamless integration with other ERP solutions would significantly enhance its capabilities and attractiveness. If someone told me that they have SAP, and C3 AI can seamlessly integrate the data and perform action calls between SAP, allowing me to operate on C3 AI as I would on SAP, that would be a killer feature for me. I would suggest avoiding traditional licensing sales as it is too expensive; the starting price is too high. Considering a subscription model or a pay-per-use model is the best business structure for AI or data solution vendors. The pay-per-use model benefits usage, as the more you use, the more successful you become with the platform.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We have solved many problems we had in the past before using Automation Anywhere, mainly we saved a lot of time and money, we reduced and minimized the risk of human errors and got rid of all the manual repetitive tasks so we can focus on the core of our business."
"Since it has capabilities to integrate with third-party applications easily, it makes the life of an automation engineer very easy."
"It doesn't require any coding knowledge. Any business person can automate this process."
"We offer them a cost and time-effective solution for repeated and time-consuming processes, which surely help a lot in terms of improving quality."
"The most valuable thing about using this product is that we are able to use the time that we spent doing manual processing for other progressive purposes."
"It saves time for the people who operate it."
"It is easy to use and deploy."
"We have had a lot of success using Automation Anywhere products and we've actually built a few solutions that were done on the EY cloud, which are offered to clients as a managed service."
"The biggest strength of C3 AI is how much it handles in one platform: data integration, model deployment, governance, monitoring, and application development."
"One of the best features C3 AI offers is that you do not need to learn Python or any specific machine learning programming language; you can use C3 AI with JavaScript."
"Since the adoption of C3 AI in our organization, we have seen strong returns from the platform, primarily through operational efficiency improvements and centralized management of AI applications."
"In the first phase alone, there was approximately $90 million in savings, which reduced about 5% of inventory."
"I have noticed improvements in efficiency, reduced downtime, and time saved for my team, as it is quite integrated through the source ML pipeline to report to general customer UI, functioning as one platform that takes care of everything, thus improving efficiency, optimization, and increasing project deliverables."

Cons

"I feel A2019 is still not completely ready and the discontinuing of version 11 is a negative impact for all of the users and clients."
"It is difficult to learn all the possibilities that the product and automation itself offer."
"There are improvements needed in error handling processes, as currently, they rely on start and end error commands."
"Automation Anywhere is troublesome for some people because of the way it is organized."
"The customer service could be improved."
"New versions keep coming up. The challenge for us is to have the downtime to do the migrations. This could be improved upon. We would like fewer version changes and upgrades happening to the application. While the downtime is not that much, depending on the business processes, there are times few critical processes are running on a daily or hourly basis. We would expect the downtime to be even less for them."
"Currently, there are some vulnerabilities in security that need attention in Automation Anywhere."
"One thing I learned with Co-Pilot is that it is very static. For instance, when dealing with tables and their headers, I must program them in a form. If my build changes, I have to return to my form and update the table titles. Features like looping are missing from Co-Pilot."
"C3 AI can feel very enterprise-heavy. For smaller teams, it may feel excessive."
"We even failed to open any doors for C3 AI; there are no smaller wins, learning opportunities, or process improvements, even if the main goals were not met."
"The reason I chose eight out of ten is that as a user of C3 AI, I found the operational aspect not easy to understand; it is a bit tricky, and you should have more core knowledge to navigate C3 AI."
"C3 AI, being a powerful platform, could improve in some areas, particularly in terms of cost."
"However, I sometimes hear from colleagues that hallucination is an issue."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"In terms of pricing, this is a good product."
"Automation Anywhere is reasonably priced because it can sustain us for a long period."
"The setup cost depends on multiple factors, so you need to get details before choosing."
"It is expensive. Automation Anywhere has reduced the price slightly, as we have grown. However, the price is still excessive enough that we are engaged in PoCs on other tools."
"The initial setup and licensing fees are high, and although it saves costs in the long run, reaching the break-even point can take at least six months."
"Despite being less expensive than UiPath, Automation Anywhere remains cost-prohibitive for many small and medium-sized businesses."
"Its price is competitive with all other products in the market."
"Considering the cost, it is a bit high, but worth the price because the output accuracy is high."
