Doesn't have daily updates, which is important for healthcare IT
I face challenges with the exclusion policy - it still scans folders we told it not to, causing issues. When we contact support, they tell us to update the latest agent, but we can't do that immediately due to medical device protocols and validation testing. I wish support would try to understand our issues better instead of giving this standard response. The machine learning feature they use often tells us to upgrade the agent or add things to the exclusion list, which isn't unacceptable. It's a very good and new technology as a tool and antivirus. But sometimes, it doesn't work properly with our medical devices and products, quarantining files it shouldn't even after we add them to exclusions. This is tricky for us.

Have maintained strong endpoint protection through behavioral analysis and daily monitoring
I previously mentioned that Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business doesn't have built-in DLP, which was a concern. I think they could add it in the future; however, antivirus cannot provide a proper DLP solution, but they can offer a mix of DLP, similar to Trend Micro Apex One, which provides some sort of DLP file management. Nonetheless, we need a proper DLP solution such as Forcepoint or Symantec, whichever suits us. We'll be conducting performance evaluation in the next quarter while working on other projects. More value means a better GUI, user interface, and comprehensive reporting capabilities. In Sophos, we receive a daily system-generated report about what is happening, plus an alert system. The reporting system in Trend Micro is also excellent; I receive an email every day at 10:00 AM with a report for the last 24 hours.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We are quite security-focused. Blackberry Protect as an endpoint solution for our service really delivers what we are expecting."
"Two or three years ago when the WannaCry virus struck, the people that were on Cylance were the ones that weren't affected."
"The solution is easy to deploy."
"In most cases, the solution's ability to detect in the MITRE framework, and its ability to be able to detect attacks in any one of seven or eight different areas of the life cycle of an attack is very useful."
"It actively monitors the behavior and activity of processes and will, without hesitation, terminate at root anything it determines to be suspect."
"I rate the tool a ten out of ten when it comes to the ease of use or management part."
"The solution is very quick at easily changing the levels of protection for each computer and the server."
"Does malware analysis. Blocks WannaCry and other attacks that have come out."
"Antivirus, including anti-spam, trojan, and worm detection and prevention. Kaspersky has a comprehensive virus definition update which is very helpful for threat prevention."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business is a very powerful tool for us. We use a lot of third-party software that integrates well with the solution."
"The product's most valuable features are automation and central administration."
"I have found the most useful features to be protected against viruses, mail threats, encryption of the devices, and MDM. There are a lot of features."
"Ability to specify the level of protection on devices,"
"The policies are easy to make and controlled by the Kaspersky Administrative Security Center, which comes at no additional costs."
"The solution's most helpful features for threat detection are machine learning analytics and behavior analytics."
"Our clients are using the advanced options, and they're quite comfortable with this solution because they didn't have any problems. It was easy to integrate it with Active Directory. It is fast and easy to use. It has all the required features."

Cons

"It needs real analysis of quarantined files. The EDR product isn't showing much right now."
"The solution needs better dashboards that are easier to use."
"It was not effective. There were a lot of false positives, even when we use Adobe, and everybody uses Adobe, which is not a threat."
"The solution’s user interface could be improved."
"They could improve on the false positives, reporting and whitelisting features."
"Work on the math model. We are catching a lot of false positives, which gets to be a pain at the start of a deployment."
"I face challenges with the exclusion policy - it still scans folders we told it not to, causing issues. When we contact support, they tell us to update the latest agent, but we can't do that immediately due to medical device protocols and validation testing. "It should have better support for Windows and Mac."
"It is not very good for the performance of the system, and especially with older devices, it has a noticeable impact."
"Some threats were able to bypass the solution's detection."
"This solution needs improvement in the reporting section. Reporting in Kaspersky Endpoint is good but it's not that great. The platform needs to centralize reporting control."
"There are some features built into Kaspersky that do not work at all, so we have to use other products instead."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business could improve the flexibility of use."
"The solution's management console can be better and more granular than it is now."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business needs an easier mechanism for updates."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business should improve its reporting. There are also some issues in the cloud portal. The solution's pricing can be cheaper."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution's pricing is around the same as most EDRs but slightly behind some of the major ones."
"Currently, we have competitive pricing for Cylance, which is affordable enough to consider."
"It's not so heavily priced; rather, it's average and decent."
"The licensing part of the product is too expensive compared to other solutions in the market."

"The price is reasonable for us at the moment. I rate the overall solution an eight out of ten."
"We went through a third party initially to do the renewal, but we won't be renewing, we will move on to something else."
"We pay for licensing yearly."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business' pricing is reasonable, and licensing costs are annual."
"We pay a yearly annual subscription for this product."
"The price of this solution is affordable and there is only a standard license required."
"The licensing cost can be about $1,300 per year."
"Kaspersky is priced well."
"It would be beneficial if the price could be reduced, and improved management of the license allocation for adding additional Endpoint users would be advantageous."
"For 300 nodes, we pay about 15,000 Malaysian Ringgit ($3,500 USD)."
