Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

A way for users to manage their credentials on the go using a stable, and scalable app
I give the solution an eight out of ten. It's hard to comment on the number of users because the feature is completely for corporate employees who have Blackberry devices, so it's hard to track how many users there are. I advise making your decision to use the solution based on the usage in the company or the demand of the business, which you are running based on the demand.

Operational efficiencies increase with immediate threat alerts for endpoints
We use Trellix Active Response primarily for our endpoints, including desktop computers. It monitors all the tools that our users use for their day-to-day work The alerts provided by Trellix Active Response are its most valuable feature. They notify us immediately of any vulnerabilities on the…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable aspect of Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks for me is its integration with AI detection, where we get to know the behavioral detection based on users, traffic patterns, and different services that we consume."
"The protection offered by this product is good, as is the endpoint reporting."
"We switched because there were a lot of added features with Palo Alto that Check Point didn't have, and it was an upgrade for us."
"The most valuable features are incident creation, policy-based protection, IP whitelisting, and device encryption. These are beneficial for endpoint and server security."
"The anti-exploit is impenetrable. We chose Traps because it is the only product that we were not able to get anything past."
"If any application performs suspicious activities, such as changing registries or modifying other applications, Cortex XDR detects and blocks the entire application."
"The initial setup is easy."
"The product is mostly automated, and we do not have to make decisions, because all the decisions are made by the product itself and we are not required to create any custom policies since the policies that are created are well defined in the product itself."
"The solution is very easy to set up."
"Their technical support is actually quite good."
"The mail is without a doubt the most valuable."
"The resetting option and creating a password is a very useful on-the-go feature, which gives a user a good experience, obviously a hassle-free experience."
"The continuous monitoring component of this solution allows Trellix to launch the MDR solution, which correlates all incidents and provides investigation reports within a short period of time, hence offering an advantage to the customers using Trellix Active Response and its integrated products."
"We are hoping to automate detection and response and take advantage of user behavior analytics, given that we are working from home. About half of our workers are still remote, so Active Response gives us that visibility and lets us automate a number of those events."
"The solution is scalable."
"With the ADR parts of it or the Active Response parts of it, we're able to get a little more information compared to the older version, such as analytics, user behavior analytics, triaging, and meaningful reporting."
"The alerts provided by Trellix Active Response are its most valuable feature."
"It's a little lighter compared to the older version, which was mostly signature-based."

Cons

"The dashboard is the area that needs to improve so that we can have the ability to drill down without having to go elsewhere to verify results."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is a very good product, but financially, it is very expensive, so the company should look into that area."
"A better pricing plan would make this product more competitive."
"I recommend adding a data loss prevention (DLP) solution to Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks. The inclusion of this feature would allow the application of DLP policies alongside antivirus policies via a single agent and console, making it more competitive as other OEMs often offer DLP solutions as part of their antivirus products."
"The product's pricing could be better."
"If Palo Alto reduces the pricing slightly for their products, it would make them more scalable in markets such as India and globally for cybersecurity."
"The encryption is not up to the mark."
"Cortex XDR could be improved with more GUI features."
"The user interface could be improved. It was clunky at times."
"The solution can be improved by adding more features in which the content could be synced."
"There are some components on the cloud that should also reside in the on-prem deployment models but don't."
"I would rate technical support from Trellix Active Response as a seven because sometimes we face difficulties finding engineers quickly, leading to customer frustration."
"While the product is good, we are currently facing support issues."
"The only area for improvement is regarding operational technology devices, specifically the engineering automation systems."
"I also expected Active Response 's user interface to be much more analytical."
"The truth, however, is that I was really looking for something much more advanced with user behavior analytics and some AI features that the other competitor's next-gen AV does offer."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price is on the higher side, but it's okay."
"The pricing seems fair, and I do like the licensing model. You use wherever they are, and it is elastic."
"It's the most expensive solution, but features-wise, it's quite strong. It's very good for protection, so the results are very good in the case of protection. I would rate it a two out of ten in terms of pricing."
"Very costly product."
"We didn't have to pay any additional fee for the cloud instance. It just came with the renewal, which was nice."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is an expensive solution."
"It's way too expensive, but security is expensive. You pay for your licensing, and then you pay for someone to monitor the stuff."
"When we first bought it, it was a bit expensive, but it was worth it. The licensing was straightforward."
"I am not able to remember the amount, but users have to subscribe for a certain amount, so once they subscribe, the amount gets sent."
"We had a licensing package of $500,000 for three years."
"Our costs were somewhere around $600K in Trinidad dollars, which might be about $100K US. We have the ETP plus the EDR. Our recent renewal was 1800 licenses as opposed to the full amount. Our transaction cost was about $600K Trinidad dollars, which is somewhere around $90-100K US."
