Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Automation has streamlined client data extraction and has improved reporting for business decisions
I work as a developer, and my manager is responsible for the research and analytics for the project with the client and business users. I am satisfied with BotFarm. I would rate my experience with BotFarm an eight out of ten. I do not see any room for improvement for BotFarm. I am using AI tools such as Amazon, Microsoft Azure, and ChatGPT. I am not using AI-powered bots in BotFarm. I am a partner with Automation Anywhere.

Stable with good cross-integration between modules, but the training needs to be improved
We mainly use UiPath as our RPA platform. I have looked at several other solutions that include the bigger ones, Blue Prism, and Automation Anywhere. We have experience in developing bots in all three of these. It is difficult to move from UiPath to EdgeVerve when UiPath is so good at getting people in the door. They've got a great ecosystem and a great training model. Every other system is more challenging to use. To get an EdgeVerve license, for example, you need to have an NDA in place to use it. Blue Prism is even worse, although, with them, you just have to pay more money. By not democratizing the software and the way to utilize it, smaller companies like EdgeVerve and even Blue Prism, to a certain extent, have suffered in terms of growth. The three leaders at the top do a pretty good job. Outside of workflow, they do a pretty good job, and that's why the customers buy, so you have to be strong on those. As far as the tools are concerned, RPA is RPA, and everybody generally does it in the same way. What is probably going to start distinguishing between products is the use of AI. When AI really overtakes the selectors for RDA, robotic desktop automation, when you have to really rely on the backdrop of the DOM to get at the element, the use of AI and more efficient on-prem AI solutions is going to really make that a better experience. The on-premises distinction is important because there's latency when you hit the cloud. Ultimately, to me, the toolsets are all the same. Drag and drop, the ability to create custom activities in terms of creating your libraries, and that kind of thing, they're all there. This past year has been ridiculous in terms of how all of the tools have progressed. What they were a year ago versus what they are today, is a considerable and significant difference. For example, I have totally redesigned my solutions and architectures over the past year.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"RPA implementation will be always fruitful, and return on investment will be always higher than the input costs."
"The customer engagement is really deep, and they work with the “gemba”. They work with operations very closely. I also believe they have a good product roadmap."
"The OCR is the most valuable feature, though this is a third party feature that we have integrated. It is quite easy to integrate with other solutions."
"It helps with the speed on improving processes and the results of those processes."
"This is a great platform, and we are implementing the logic into the bots that they are using to automate."
"The core RPA service that it provides and the stability that it has in maintaining that as a cloud service solution is a key enabler for us. Its stability is good, and the low-code/no-code setup that it has is very user-efficient."
"Automation Anywhere has led to faster growth in our organization."
"Our clients are always happy with the product and its performance."
"The most valuable features are the portals for extracting data from PDF files, appending data to SAP, automating the SAP, downloading reports, and mapping and creating the reports accordingly to your requirements."
"We have automized the day-to-day work of their order management system."
"I use it in my client project to extract data and communicate it for business purposes."
"BotFarm is an easy solution to use and the interface is better than older versions."
"Their development interface is very easy to navigate."
"The most important feature of BotFarm is web automation."
"Automation Anywhere has good document extraction features where it can learn patterns."
"The best aspect is the UI, as it is very user-friendly."
"EdgeVerve is a bit like Appian, where they have full suites that have a great deal of functionality."
"I would say that the cross-integration between different modules, such as between the OCR, RPA, and ML, is the most valuable feature."

Cons

"They could improve the environmental stabilizing issues. There are a lot of environmental issues when rolling over from one environment to another, higher environment. This is the one thing they definitely need to look into."
"We have a challenge in our front office automation where capturing details from a table within a table does not happen in the existing AA Enterprise client version 11.3.4. The AA team tries various methods like using an Excel spreadsheet to capture the tables."
"I would like a better code migration solution, because this is something that we do a lot."
"Having better documentation that is more openly available would help. Often, it feels necessary to contact someone or search for documentation that is stored behind a login or in another location. It would be beneficial to have one centralized place for everything."
"The main problem that I have with Automation Anywhere is the support. When I have problems that I cannot solve by myself, it is hard to achieve a good result with support. Language is another issue."
"As a business user, I would like to have a feature wherein the bot is run on demand, whenever an email with a specific keyword or whenever a specific pers sends an email to the bot's email address."
"The main request I have for Automation Anywhere is to focus more on technical demonstrations."
"While it is easy to develop automation, deploying and running them requires some technical knowledge."
"Its UI could be made better. It should also be more flexible. Currently, it is more rigid, and a little more flexibility is required. Their technical support should also be better. We are not very happy with their technical support. Its price is also quite high as of now. They should improve its price. Its setup should also be made easier. It is quite complex to set it up. Even though we were able to set it up a little fast because we had done something similar earlier, but it has a very complex setup. It is extremely resource-hungry. If they can make it a little light on resources, that would also be useful."
"I would like to see more process mining features to give us insight into them before we develop automation."
"The machine learning needs to be improved so that they perform better in terms of predictive analysis and sentiment analysis."
"The pricing of this product could be better."
"The community forums can be improved a little bit because they have mixed solutions or discussions with respect to some ideas."
"The licensing schemes could be more competitive. They need to be much more flexible in their pricing."
"We have connectivity and integration with pretty much every single tech stack across the table that we have in the world, and there are a few areas that they don't do that well yet. I'd be looking for some improvement there, in terms of their integration with certain products."
"The solution can improve the accuracy of hand-written data reading"
"Better training and better accessibility of the tools are the things that need to be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Roughly, as of today, it is around $250,000 annually."
"The Community Edition is a good offering from the company."
"Approximately, for a developer, it is around $750 for a license a year. For Bot Runners, it is about $550."
"The price is very reasonable."
"I feel the cost of licensing is very high for the A2019 version."
"From my experience, I can say that the initial setup cost is easily recovered over a period of time once the bots start running in production."
"Costs savings have been seen by employing bots for multiple shifts instead of people."
"I've seen the price vary by whether the client is going to scale and adopt a tool."
"The licensing is on a monthly basis."
"The solution prices are expensive. It would be more beneficial for customers to lower the pricing."
"There is a license for this solution and it is on an annual basis. I am satisfied with the price."
"Pricing for this solution can be better."
"We are on an annual license for the solution and is priced well."
"The product is slightly expensive"
"The pricing is fair."
"The license of this solution is on an annual basis. The price is fair. However, what we did initially was a POC, but now we are looking at moving from a POC to expanding it out further. I would appreciate some kind of discount."
