Detect and mitigate attacks with API protection
Compliance with standards like those in Europe often requires ensuring that APIs adhere to OAuth and other security protocols. Many organizations need to verify that their APIs meet these compliance requirements. We can include information about where an API was first recorded and create a detailed chart. Some competitors already offer this feature. It is simple to integrate. Overall, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.

Application protection has improved and reporting and dashboards still need refinement
I believe Imperva Application Security Platform should have a more interactive wizard. While the dashboard is good, it could be more eye-catching. Based on my perspective, I recommend modifying the dashboards, especially the main dashboard where I can see the traffic hit count, alerts, and other latest information. In terms of reporting, I find it challenging to create reports; in my earlier days, it was difficult. Over time, I have learned how to create reports, but it should be easier to do so. I have used other tools such as firewalls or SolarWinds, where creating a report is straightforward and does not take much time, unlike in Imperva, where I have to add many elements. Modifications in the integration aspects would also be beneficial.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It uses machine learning algorithms to detect attacks and manage API inventory."
"I would highly recommend Imperva Incapsula especially for customers who want extra security for their web presence."
"It's very pretty easy to onboard the URL."
"We were so impressed with the effectiveness of the solution and the assistance that we received from support that we subscribed to their service in an ongoing basis, which has proven to be reliable and simple to use."
"This product is a reliable defense from malicious attacks on a network environment."
"We are using Incapsula as our web application firewall and for DDoS protection, and it performs really well at its job."
"Protection is the best solution since it has profile functionality."
"Keep your sites strongly secured but sleep easier knowing Imperva Incapsula continuously baffles our penetration testers."
"IncapRules is one of the most valuable features, as you can create your own security and access control rules on top of your security policy. Using IncapRules we were able to easily block Layer 7 DDoS attacks several times."

Cons

"It is expensive."
"If they can bring in generative AI features, that would be useful."
"Their portal is very limited and needs improvement."
"The Imperva Web Application Firewall automations are good, but there is still room for improvement with them."
"Imperva should have more points of presence in Africa."
"I would rate the solution as an 8 out of 10, simply because of the difficulty of operation management. It's a complicated tool to keep."
"I would like to have support for SSL management and secure DNS."
"An Incapsula website configuration instance can be in a "Pending DNS changes" state, where further work is needing to be done by the customer, while website access is otherwise fully functional."
"Incapsula has a built-in monitoring module, but it is a paid feature; I would expect that for the price we pay for the basic service, we would be able to integrate a monitoring solution, even a simple one."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"There are some licenses that you have to buy to use some features. Its price could be better. Price is always important because, at the end of the day, customers have a budget. If you can meet the budget, you can sell, and if you don't, you cannot sell."
"There is a license for this solution and we purchase the license annually with no additional fees."
"The tool is expensive."
"We are satisfied with the pricing."
"Make sure you understand the way that Imperva charges. It's very affordable. However, I would like to see a package with the Virtual Patching included. You get to do patching separately."
"The price of this solution is a little bit high compared to competitors."
"The pricing is somewhat expensive. It is actually a huge investment when compared to other countries."
"The license is on a yearly basis."
