Can be well-integrated with the existing systems in a company and is very intuitive to use
I once faced a problem with the tool, but I remember that I managed to work without a VPN, and then the problem with the product was sorted out somehow. An option to connect not only with the username and password but also through SMS in an easy manner is something that needs to be added to the tool. When I changed the way I connect to the tool to the SMS option, I did it because I bought a new phone, and it had a problem connecting with the tool, after which I had to go to the settings to change it, so I felt it was not very intuitive. In other platforms, the user will have two options to connect, one of which is with a username and password, and the other one is with an SMS.

Security monitoring has improved and protects mission-level mac segments for critical users
Currently, I am not using this because it is mandated on Office 365, which we are not currently maintaining. We are just using the manage feature, so it is not something we control. We are using Cisco SecureClient for VPN. Symantec Endpoint Encryption is only used at the MAC level segment for the B Mission levels for security purposes, and it is only from the ten user perspective. It is straightforward and not complex. I would rate the complexity as a seven, but I would rate the product itself as a nine. We have approximately fifty thousand in budget. Better security methods are valuable features that we can suggest, as everything is under liability. My overall review rating for this solution is nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is pretty reliable."
"We use the solution for endpoint encryption and it handles everything, with security, a firewall within the workstation, and DLP within the solution and on the workstation, making use of 360-degree security on one's workstation."
"The encryption ensures each of our drives is not invasive and that the user does not have a bad experience even while the drive is being encrypted."
"Above all, the possibility of keeping our data safe by placing a unique digital signature for each device we will encrypt, informing us of any unauthorized changes, is one of the most valuable features."
"The most valuable feature of Check Point Full Disk Encryption Software Blade is hard disk protection."
"This software has helped individuals in the organization avoid data loss."
"Its central management console has really made an impact on our organization."
"Its ability to provide a security layer of encryption that allows us to prevent unauthorized access to computers."
"The stability of the product is very good; there are no bugs or glitches, it does not crash or freeze, and it is reliable."
"Its management is good, and it is also scalable and mostly stable."
"Overall Symantec Endpoint Encryption is a reasonable solution."
"The solution was stable and did not crash."
"It attempts to detect CVS quickly and recognizes it to fix it or alert us so we have to update patches if required."
"We have been very satisfied with the solution's security capabilities."
"The best feature of Symantec Endpoint Encryption is the encryption itself, and none of our customers have complained about this solution at all, so I take it that everything is still working fine."
"One notable aspect is the ability to customize alerts and other settings."

Cons

"They could improve the latency in the platform when entering the portal."
"They should improve the interface and make it a little more user-friendly."
"The cost of maintaining the system is high for personal use."
"I would like to bring centralized management to mobile devices."
"You do need to be careful that you don't mess too much with the endpoint, or you might have issues with the work stations."
"The solution is overpriced."
"While the solution works as it should, it is overly expensive."
"In the future, I would like to see is the ability to decrypt equipment."
"The security could be improved."
"I do not recommend Symantec Endpoint Encryption. The support needs to be improved."
"It's a bit difficult to get good support. Their response times are really bad."
"We'd like to switch from Symantec due to the fact that the switching part is a pain."
"One feature that is lacking is integration with Symantec Information Centric (ICT). As it is now, I don't see how to integrate the encryption with ICT, and in my opinion this is an area that certainly requires encryption, even though it's no longer supported by Broadcom."
"We would like some advanced security protection features."
"Upgrades from one version to another may only sometimes be straightforward, especially if one needs a clearer understanding of the process."
"The agent can be improved on the solution. Right now, we have an Endpoint Protection agent as well as an encryption agent and another for the DLVs and other services. We would prefer a single agent for the entire product."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"As it costs $125 per workstation per year, something which is above the price of what the competition is charging, the solution is definitely too expensive."
"The licensing costs yearly are $5000."
"The cost of this solution is a little on the higher side."
"The solution is good, but it is more expensive than other solutions in the market. Other solutions, such as BitLocker are less expensive."
"Depending on how many modules you will use (up to five) the licensing will be more expensive."
"Symantec Endpoint Encryption is not expensive."
"Although the performance and stability of this solution are good, our challenge is the price tag. You buy the solution once, but you also have to keep on buying the licenses yearly."
"We hold an annual license, and their pricing is competitive, falling into the affordable range."
"There is a license required for this solution."
