Backup has protected our office data and now restores individual emails while admins configure settings
Although Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 is a Backup as a Service, it should give slight leverage to the admins to do more of their own configurations. When it comes to Software as a Service, we do need to agree on certain things, as we do not have much control over the software. If Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 can improve, it would be better. It could be slightly better, but it is acceptable. As long as support is provided in a timely manner, it is good. I cannot tell it is fully bad or fully good. If I were to give a rating of one to five, I might give 3.5 to four. Rather than giving a help database, which is an ocean of information to search through ourselves, we should be able to open a ticket and have them guide us on how to do it. As an end-user, different levels of admins exist—a fresh admin and a more experienced admin. They need to encourage us to open a ticket quickly, and from there they should guide us straightforwardly with the steps to follow to achieve the desired outcome.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"It's a very straightforward product that is well integrated with everything."
"It's a very good solution."
"The product is easy-to-use."
"Veeam Backup for Office 365 has good security, and I also like the process they use for backups."
"The most valuable feature of Veeam Backup for Office 365 is the backups, we do not want to lose any files. Each one of the files is updated on a regular long-term basis and kept together in the Microsoft cloud-only."
"This is an easy-to-install easy-to-use solution for backing up Office 365 email."
"The product is very stable and performs exceptionally well."
"The most valuable features of the solution are the scalability and the free license of up to ten VMs."
"Overall, it's a very good product."
"Its absolute functionality and intuitiveness are the most valuable features."

Cons

"Pricing is an area that can be improved. In the next release, I would like to see better prices for the licenses."
"Support is quite bad. They advise too late. When we call for support, it really does take far too long for a response."
"Some additional training materials would be helpful."
"When you add a new site for backup, it gives you a notice that there is a new site, but the way you select that and configure that could be slightly better. It works, but it is not always very clear. For example, for the URL, you need to hover over the title or the name of the site. You should see it immediately on the screen. It should have a better user interface for selecting what you want to back up so that you get a more clear overview of the sites that are there and the ones that you want to combine in a backup. Its user interface should be more user-friendly. It has a lot of scrolling and doesn't give you a complete overview when needed. That's the main thing why it is not very user-friendly. It should have a better user interface."
"I think the pricing model is wrong."
"It needs to be able to integrate with other emailing systems, like Linux."
"I'm very satisfied with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 and would continue using it if it were up to me. However, my management is considering alternative solutions due to issues with our storage solutions."
"The solution needs to improve its speed."
"If it could rebuild the data without pulling down the entire chunk, it would be an improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's a perpetual license."
"The solution is not expensive."
"It is strictly subscribed on a per-user basis."
"I think it's a fair price. It's around $36 per user, so I think it's a fair price for our customers."
"We have 2000 users and pay about $10,000. It may be a little bit more per year. We have an education institute and may have fewer expenses."
"The licensing price is quite high. It's expensive."
"Veeam Backup for Office 365 is a low-priced solution, so it is scalable and is priced for the market, comparable to other solutions."
"The pricing model makes this solution more expensive than it needs to be."
"The pricing is expensive."
