Structured workflows have improved SLA compliance and now support prioritized incident handling
I think the licensing and pricing of ServiceNow is quite expensive compared to other tools. For large organizations, it is acceptable, but specifically for small and medium organizations to track incidents or change requests, ServiceNow is quite expensive. Sometimes performance can be slow when workflows and integrations are configured for complex tasks. For advanced customizations or advanced features which we rarely use, the documentation is not up to standard. The documentation needs to be improved for advanced customization features. However, the platform is stable overall and the features are quite good. The user experience and performance concerns I mentioned are areas I want to be improved. When many workflows and interactions are configured, performance is slow. For the features it is providing, it is quite expensive. If these performance features are improved, we can easily pay that price and get the return on investment.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The best thing is that a person without knowledge about the program can easily understand what happened in our testing process."
"Hiptest is a great test management tool for agile teams."
"The power of Hiptest is its test cases and campaign management."
"The URL is very useful, and it has a very good UI for deploying information of the scenarios created."
"Integration with automation frameworks, keywords, and tags allows for saving time writing test cases and implementing automation."
"CucumberStudio aligns with our strategy for data-driven testing."
"Using HipTest makes the testing process easy and its support for Behavior Driven Development helps align all the team members, whether technical or non-technical."
"The most valuable feature is the re-usability of action words."
"The return on investment is good when implementing for ourselves and for other clients."
"There are many expansions available."
"The development aspects within it are valuable, including incident, change, and problem, and it has given us one pane of glass to look at a lot of stuff, which has opened a lot of eyes to our IT department."
"ServiceNow gives us a lot for free: workflows, organizational structures, service portal, forms, reporting, disaster recovery, and so on."
"We have found the service easy to use, although, we have ended up customising a lot of parameters."
"Very good incident management, chain management and problem management features."
"It's a very low-code platform, and it's simple. The user experience is also really good."
"I like that it's always up and running."

Cons

"Support with In-App chat is great. However, it would be awesome to have real time support also for PT timezone."
"More tutorials and examples."
"The reporting aspect can be improved."
"Another kind of deployment might be useful, perhaps an option to install the tool in a local deployment."
"Yes, it is not stable when you create a data table that includes more than 30 elements, so it can lose your data."
"The reporting needs to be improved."
"It needs some improvement when exporting scenarios into automation code, to make it easier to manage the repeatable action words and tests."
"I think it would be better if we could also do the reporting with CucumberStudio."
"I don't think it's very secure, and it's web-based, and Remedy is really the standard that it's judged against."
"Time to respond from support could definitely be better, as the global support timing sometimes causes delays in interactions."
"We have implemented some various complex ACLs and they've impacted our performance significantly, and we've had several incidents open to help with performance, and it's been kind of a struggle to get the ServiceNow support group to say "Yup, I see it's a problem, let's do this.""
"Data access is a bit difficult, where you sometimes wish you had a relational database for some queries. The flexibility of data access in general is a bit on the low end. Of course, there is flexibility in some ways, but when I need a certain combination of data for some report, it can become a challenge."
"This is an expensive solution and I think that could be reduced."
"The solution has some built-in monitoring capabilities, so we escalate cases as they come, but sometimes the response to our requests is delayed."
"When something is added on ServiceNow on the platform, then you have 10 more things to do because you have to improve again and again and again."
"ServiceNow doesn't cater to the Middle Eastern market."
