A potential area for improvement is enhancing support for cluster environments and distributed Vaults. Clients in multiple countries that need central access have different challenges that require better solutions from CyberArk. For financial services, CyberArk can improve incident response by ensuring fast support for critical priority tickets to meet compliance requirements. Providing more documentation on CyberArk is recommended for new team members to enhance their troubleshooting capabilities. I understand it's up to the client, but 99% fail to change the demo key, so it's crucial for CyberArk to emphasize changing the key and documenting it as part of the installation process.

Helps me deal with a litany of access credentials, but the user interface is not well structured
Our primary use for this solution is password management. We have so many websites, passwords, and user IDs that it is impossible to remember them all This solution has helped us deal with the litany of access credentials, whether business or personal. The most valuable feature is that it stores…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The implementation of the PSM proxy has reduced the specific risk of "insider attacks" on our domain controllers and SLDAP servers by eliminating direct user login by an open secure connection on the user's behalf without ever revealing the privileged credentials."
"I love how easily we could operate within Password Vault and get things done. It was almost effortless."
"The interface is very simple to use."
"The best feature of CyberArk Privileged Access Manager is its core function: automatically managing and securing credentials."
"If properly set up, CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault has good stability, and is a very solid tool. It can run by itself. Its most valuable features are auto password recycling and PSM."
"CyberArk has helped us to identify, store, protect, and monitor the usage of privileged accounts."
"The most valuable feature is that it is flexible. It has many connectors. that have done well, the EPV and SSH sessions are all being recorded and everything works fine."
"It is a central repository. Therefore, if someone needs to access a server, then they go through CyberArk PAM. It provides a secure way to do this and CyberArk PAM records everything. For example, if you are connecting to a Linux server, then once you get into the Linux server and if it is integrated with CyberArk, it will automatically start recording everything that is being done. In most banks, seeing the recordings is very useful. If there are any gaps or something has happened which shouldn't have happened, then we can check the logs and videos. So, it gives security, in a robust manner, to the organization."
"The most valuable feature is that it stores all of your user IDs and passwords, and unlocks them with just one master password."

Cons

"Their support can be better. Their SLA timings are higher than others."
"Occasionally, there are lagging issues. Sometimes users have to re-login. When users copy passwords, there is sometimes a lag, so they have to log out and log in, but these are very rare cases."
"The solution should be able to mitigate internal threats"
"It's expensive and you're not getting anything new. It's just a control, but in terms of risk, you are covering a big impact on the company."
"I would prefer that this is a fully-managed service, rather than have to manage the software ourselves and keep it up to date."
"The product could be easier to use. More work needs to be done on this aspect; it is not good enough yet. It also takes up a lot of server space. Sometimes we need to use up to seven servers."
"CyberArk could enhance its usability by simplifying its architecture and design."
"The web access piece needs improvement. We have version 9.5 or 9.9.5, and now we have to upgrade to version 10."
"The user interface is in need of improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"With reducing the privileged account access, there has been a huge improvement. They are now bringing more accounts on a little at a time."
"Generally, I don't get involved in the licensing or the purchasing side of it, but I do know that the licenses are expensive."
"Pricing is a problem. CyberArk is expensive compared to other products I know. It is similar to buying a German car. It comes with all the bells and whistles, but some companies may find it too expensive."
"The pricing is slightly higher compared to other solutions, but it is reasonable because there are better security features."
"Its price is high. I have also worked with Delinea. CyberArk is comparatively expensive compared to other PAM solutions, such as Delinea, especially during renewal."
"It is not a cheap solution. It is expensive as compared with other solutions. However, it is one of the best solutions in their domain."
"The solution is very expensive and requires a license. We pay for an enterprise license."
"I would rate the tool’s pricing a six out of ten."
"The personal version is approximately $20 USD per year."
