Rule-based monitoring has strengthened real-time protection against SQL injection attacks
I believe the product features are good so far, but I experienced some issues. When I upgraded to a newer version, there were some bugs found that were not resolved. Therefore, I would assume that DataSunrise can improve their quality checks before releasing a new version. I would like to see improvements mainly in support and documentation, as whenever I contact DataSunrise support, the support team is not fully aware of the new features or version revision histories. The documentation has been vague and not well done. I think DataSunrise as a product is still in the initial stage where there are many improvements that can be made regarding documentation and support.

Has provided wide data coverage and supports flexible implementation for growing database environments
Imperva SecureSphere Database Security offers the most comprehensive coverage range of database types, which is a significant advantage. It has very flexible implementation modes and an understandable console. Even someone who is not a database administrator could work with it, understand the security events, and comprehend the data activity monitoring events.Data is the most important asset in any organization and the primary target of hackers. Imperva SecureSphere Database Security provides one of the best solutions to analyze data, maintain GDPR compliance, and help investigate any incidents. It is user-friendly and can start with a small scope. Unlike competitors such as IBM Guardium and Oracle, customers can start with a small scope and scale every year. This advantage allows them to invest less money initially while learning the solution. Year after year, they can add value scope and cover more databases in their organization with high quality. We have been working with Imperva SecureSphere Database Security for about 10 years. I started working with this project about five years ago.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"My advice to others considering DataSunrise Database Security is that it is a good and unified tool."
"We have a law in Turkey similar to the GDPR in the European Union. It's almost like a replica. Complying with this law is crucial, and the service plays a significant role. Many customer inquiries revolve around not retaining their data. The service addresses this by providing functionality for masking data within the databases. So, if a user requests data deletion, we can remove any information we have on them within the database, ensuring compliance with the law."
"The most valuable feature of DataSunrise Database Security is Dynamic Masking. You don't need to build copies of the database and is highly customizable. It is a very good unique feature. It also has built-in algorithms, or machine learning, which is quite helpful, because it understands the user's behaviors and patterns to apply certain policies."
"DataSunrise Database Security has positively impacted my organization, as it acts as a proxy."
"The company focuses on and has a passion for security."
"The centralization of the data is probably the most useful feature because we span multiple database technologies. We also find the GBDI portion of it very helpful."
"The best feature of this solution is the integration between components, and it has a lot of different components that cover the needs of our customers."
"This is a stable product."
"Database reporting features are valuable to us."
"This is a fine product, and one of the best."
"We have seen our security risk decreased due to customization and meeting all the security needs for every application."
"It was well worth implementing Imperva SecureSphere and found the rate of productivity increased by using it."

Cons

"I would like to see improvements mainly in support and documentation, as whenever I contact DataSunrise support, the support team is not fully aware of the new features or version revision histories."
"I believe there's room for improvement in their distributor network, especially in Turkey. This is why I was exploring alternatives to DataSunrise Database Security. However, the product itself is quite good. One suggestion for enhancement could be adding an encryption module on top of the masking features, perhaps a more permanent form of preservative encryption."
"DataSunrise Database Security comes out with new builds every time we have a small issue. This has made the solution not always stable."
"The solution has many features but I would like to see vulnerability assessments in the next release."
"The GUI for this solution could use some improvement."
"Its reporting can be improved. The reporting feature is currently not good enough for our clients."
"Rebranding this is a pain in the current environment."
"The user interface is kind of a let-down. The graphics, tabs, and other various options are quite jumbled and confusing."
"The product is pretty powerful, but the management UI is not very intuitive, i.e. not very user friendly and can be improved to make it much better."
"They have to put more focus on the administrative part of the application, especially on upgrades."
"Imperva SecureSphere Database Security could improve the database defense feature called camouflage. This feature was responsible for the data mask but now it does not work well and we need another solution. All our banks have teams that are regarded with care and they need to mask sensitive data in order to provide testing to developers."
"Overall, it's a very good product but they could do with some modifications log-wise — it should be more comprehensive."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is expensive."
"The cost of support for this solution is very expensive."
"The product is expensive."
"There is an annual licensing fee for upgrading the device."
"The product’s price is reasonable compared to other products."
"The price of the solution is reasonable. The cost of the solution depends on the customer, they have the flex protect licensing which can vary in price."
"I know it's not cheap."
"It is very expensive."
"The pricing is reasonably good in South Africa."
