Automated release workflows have reduced manual coordination and improve deployment consistency
A few challenges have been encountered, and from my experience, Digital.ai Release should improve the user interface. It has a lot of functionality, but some areas can be a little too complicated compared to others, especially when setting up more advanced release flows. A cleaner and more intuitive interface would make it easier to get started and begin using it. I would also like to see stronger reporting and analytics to help track releases, progress, and have ready-to-use reports around deployment success rates. Another area is integration, as Digital.ai Release connects with many DevOps tools, but some integrations can require configurations and maintenance, making the work hectic. If those connections could be made more straightforward, it would save time.

Provides superior integration options and comprehensive reporting features
The product could benefit from enhanced integration capabilities with older software systems and more customizable reporting options. Improved support for mobile devices would also be advantageous, allowing team members to access the system more effectively while on the go. In the next release, we would like to see advanced analytics features, including predictive analytics to help forecast project outcomes. Additionally, a more robust mobile app with offline capabilities would be valuable for remote work scenarios.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The impact of adopting Digital.ai Release has been quite measurable, with the average time spent coordinating releases reduced by about seventy percent, deployment time reduced by roughly thirty percent, and deployment-related errors reduced by about twenty-five percent because the same automated steps are performed consistently."
"Since we started using the manual testing module from Digital.ai, I have seen a positive impact on my organization as our test management has improved significantly."
"The solution can apply one template across multiple applications."
"The time is also reduced because the manual work has tremendously decreased. We just have to click one button, and it will create everything for us."
"Since using Digital.ai Release, one of the benefits is standardizing the way I release to my Azure environment, which in the long term will help me reduce costs and improve efficiency."
"The orchestration, building the release, and then just executing it and managing that pipeline — the orchestration capabilities are great for that."
"Overall, it's been a good experience."
"Involving both infrastructure and application teams in the same pipeline has genuinely helped my process, as we have one specific person starting the pipeline, another approving it, and another coordinating as DevOps or monitoring all processes from the infrastructure side, providing excellent assistance because we have different and clearly separated responsibilities."
"The most valuable features include task tracking and reporting capabilities."
"They have a professional service team that works alongside their engineering and performance teams."
"I appreciate the features in JFrog DevOps Cloud Platform, especially the efficient file management where downloads and uploads are optimized, saving time. The storage efficiency is also great as it avoids redundancy, which is crucial for our team. It is also quite easy to use, especially for basic commands through the command line. It's straightforward for us internally, and our data is well-hosted on their servers, which makes data location and querying fast and efficient. Moving our storage to JFrog has streamlined our development cycle by eliminating duplicated data, which previously took up extra space locally. This efficiency is crucial for our workflow, although network speeds still play a significant role in performance."

Cons

"The backfill could be improved, we could automate that. Right now it's subjective — it's up to the lead developer's memory to remember to backfill."
"Sometimes it can be tedious when fulfilling multiple different packages with their key and value pairs."
"Digital.ai Release could improve by having a better plugin that works with Guardian that we use for mainframe migrations. If there could be an interface or plugin for Guardian that would be beneficial."
"I feel that it could be more user-friendly, as the UI feels a bit old and not very appealing."
"The solution is a little bit expensive."
"I would like to improve Digital.ai Release by exploring its cloud capabilities as we are currently in the middle of migrating to the cloud, but I actually have no idea what Digital.ai's cloud capabilities are."
"Digital.ai Release could be improved, particularly because the automated test capabilities are not that strong compared to some major tools like UIPath, Tosca, or SmartBear TestComplete."
"A few challenges have been encountered, and from my experience, Digital.ai Release should improve the user interface."
"We have encountered stability issues lately, particularly with frequent 500 internal server errors. Despite efforts from our DevOps team to adjust settings, these issues persist, affecting our workflow, especially with machine learning data uploads. Overall, while it's beneficial for storage and accessibility, stability issues need improvement for seamless operations. The occasional occurrence of internal server errors takes several minutes to resolve on their own and can disrupt workflows. Another concern is that sometimes files appear to be successfully uploaded, but then they cannot be downloaded, with no error message indicating the issue during the upload process. This inconsistency needs to be addressed by JFrog to ensure reliable functionality for users like us."
"The product could benefit from enhanced integration capabilities with older software systems and more customizable reporting options."
"Our locations are in different environments, so the remote server takes time to catch up, causing replication delays. The engineering team suggested that this issue would be resolved, but I'm not sure if it has been addressed yet. This is more of a feature enhancement that we suggested."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Overall, the price is just too high; especially considering we're in the middle of a pandemic."
"The solution's license includes all features."
"Regarding pricing, I focus on the platform's interface and user communication rather than costs."
"The product pricing is competitive but worth negotiating for volume discounts or longer-term contracts."
