AI-driven insights have reduced downtime and improved cross-team collaboration
We encountered some challenges while using Dynatrace. Although the initial setup was smooth, fine-tuning alert thresholds and custom metrics took some time. Another challenge was that Dynatrace charges based on host units, so we had to carefully plan our agent deployments. The licensing model is expensive. Additionally, the complexity of setup is an issue. While OneAgent and auto-discover services are powerful, the setup is more complex compared to other tools such as Prometheus and Grafana. These integrations are simple and basic, but Dynatrace setup requires more complexity based on the environment. For new users wanting to use Dynatrace, it is difficult. However, the AI-related solutions and metrics took us to the next level for identifying and fixing things. Dynatrace requires an agent for operation. OneAgent is powerful, but it is also resource-heavy. On lightweight nodes or older systems, the agent can slightly impact performance. If Dynatrace could implement a lightweight agent behavior, we could make things faster. Additionally, if Dynatrace could add a long-term retention policy so that we could store more data and find fine-grained details, that would help us. While Dynatrace managed edition supports on-premises deployment, the SaaS version depends on cloud connectivity. For highly regulated or air-gapped environments, setup and updates can be challenging. Although the initial setup is smooth, if someone wants to fine-tune it and fully understand the tool end-to-end, it could be tricky.

Fast in-app surveys have improved how we collect and focus on user feedback for our job platform
The best features Instabug offers are that it is very easy to obtain immediate feedback. The immediate feedback feature for my app is very simple to use, which helps my team and users focus on the target and focus on a different objective. Instabug has impacted my organization positively because it is very simple to use, and I can find in a short time the feedback I need to work on a specific target.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I think with Dynatrace, it has helped to bring value to the business because now we can speak using the same language."
"They have a feature that allows you to monitor the user, and we are able to create a VIP customer."
"The most valuable feature is the fact that you can drill down to the code level and get a breadth of information."
"Dynatrace is better than other solutions; it is a very powerful technology and has better integration."
"Dynatrace has multiple features that I need, but I love that you can analyze traffic, including any bottlenecks. I also find the tool user-friendly and has an easy-to-navigate interface."
"As compared to New Relic and other providers, it is more expensive, which is its biggest disadvantage, but its biggest advantage is its capability because it is more feature-rich."
"No more war rooms in most cases."
"We have reduced our troubleshooting times and improved the way that we deal with most of the bugs in the applications; it's very easy to reach the root cause of the problems in the applications due to the analysis with Dynatrace, and the timeframe to update and fix the applications has been reduced a lot compared to what we had before Dynatrace."
"The best features Instabug offers are that it is very easy to obtain immediate feedback."
"I would rate the stability a nine out of ten."
"The product makes it very easy to reproduce issues."

Cons

"A role-based view and a Python monitoring tool would make a simple user interface more usable."
"I do not like after 60 days or 90 days it gets aggregated to summary data. I would like to be able to analyze specific PurePaths after 30 days or 60 days with real numbers."
"The database reporting engine has an awful lot of metrics that can be used for reports."
"There was complexity to AppMon and getting everything set, but more specifically getting the dashboard setup."
"We would like to see more dashboarding capabilities and the ability to export custom reports."
"It needs education and training to ensure you get the full value of your purchase."
"I would like to see more default dashboards included, and maybe more possibilities in terms of customization."
"The solution could improve on integration, cloud services, and making the configuration less difficult."
"It would be beneficial if the tool could be more precise in capturing steps, focusing only on the relevant ones. For example, there were some times when it caught some extra screenshots which were not included in the steps. Sometimes, it also happened that it got some extra steps that were not in there to reproduce the bug. We also called that screenshot and the steps there as well."
"The end users were not able to report bugs."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The limitations I see are more to do - and maybe it's because of the nature of the job I have - but they have to do with pricing. It's a little bit pricey. It's a very good tool. It's worth the price, to a certain degree. But it's hard to justify when it's that costly."
"While it is quite good in respect to its functionality, there are few area in regards to pricing that they can look at how to possibly change. I have heard it's costly."
"As compared to New Relic and other providers, it is more expensive, which is its biggest disadvantage. Its biggest advantage is its capability. It is more feature-rich."
"Pricing is still too expensive."
"The product is definitely worth taking a look at. Be aware that it is probably more pricey than other options on the market, but there are a lot of capabilities. Dynatrace has an eye toward the future and the computing and monitoring needs that we are gonna need for the cloud. "
"There is a license cost, which is obviously more expensive than an open-source solution, but for the return on investment from what you get from it, it's a great investment. Of course, it could always be cheaper."
"Licensing is very interesting, as you pay only for what is being monitored. A lot of things are given away for no additional cost. If you have a great IT consolidation, it will be pretty cheap. If you have a lot of servers, it will be heavier."
"Everything is great, but the licensing could always be cheaper. With the every growing tool set of Ops teams, we find it harder to budget for tooling while ensuring we still have the proper insight into our applications."
