Asset dashboards have created slow, rigid workflows and have limited effective life cycle tracking
The single dashboards do not help my team or the company as a whole. I feel the dashboards are not helpful because the search features are not customizable. The software is web-based and the server is extremely slow. To improve Endevor, its cloud or web-based server capabilities should be increased so that the software is faster. The ability to customize reports should be increased.

It can be adapted to any process flow
ClearQuest is a Defect Tracking system with a highly adaptable state machine together with an easy to use API, which can do all of the functions available in the GUI. This simplifies integration and automation of many steps is why the organization still uses a much older version, as there are no…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Endevor is a solid product; it works, does its job, is stable, and I have never heard any complaints for improvements in this product."
"It is completely different than other tools I have used, as it is easy to use and very intuitive, allowing you to keep growing without having to learn something new because the environment does not change even as it scales from one to 21,000 elements."
"The flexibility, because I know a lot of the competition pigeonholes you into definitions and character limitations, and Endevor is wide open."
"CA Endevor is better than not having any source control management, some kind of source control tools."
"I like it because it customizable, and it's rock steady, it's a very robust and mature product."
"I do not think our organization could go without it."
"It's very flexible. A new technology comes along, this can be multiplied to handle the new technology quite easily."
"Any question that an auditor has about our processes and approvals is all stored in Endevor."
"The combination of a highly flexible state machine together with a platform independent API enables possibilities to automate many steps that in many systems are manual."
"The workflow feature with stateful record types and the ability to implement these rapidly in our project have been of value to us."
"It can be adapted to any process flow and easily be integrated with other in-house tools using the ClearQuest API."
"Customization level of the tool to meet client’s requirements, you can do almost all of the customizations for a project or ticket management system, and notification, hooks, and UI customization are very stable."
"In combination with a good Configuration Management plan, an organization can create an optimal level of administration and automation creating good traceability in your tasks."
"This enabled us to completely migrate from paper-based forms to electronic forms for a number of business areas."

Cons

"It's complex because it depends upon your development architecture. Also, it's reached the limits of automation and freedom given to end users."
"Endevor can improve parallel development."
"The main challenges are its limited interface and the complexity of the customization."
"If they deploy it correctly, then it provides a tremendous benefit, but if you lay it out wrong, it can be a nightmare to work with."
"The Eclipse based UI still needs improvement and CA is working on that in v18."
"The graphical user interface. It would be a big tool to change (but needed), just because as the workforce kind of ages and retires, the younger generation is not as familiar with mainframe and looking at a green screen is not really a huge selling point to them."
"I would like to see it used for Hadoop, which is really huge now."
"There are a lot of screens in it. The process for moving out my other solutions, it could be more convenient. There are a lot of steps to go through and a lot of screens to go through to get it accomplished."
"It’s very expensive, especially considering that there are much more economical options out there."
"Lack of a modern web interface compared to other systems might discourage customers."
"However, the user interface seems very static and the user experience was not the best."
"The user interface could benefit from a more modern look and feel."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is expensive."
"It's worth the value. The pricing is fairly good, justifiable for the return on investment."
"Just make sure if you are going to license, ensure you license the right features."
"Licensing is fairly simple, you don't need multiple licenses."
"It's competitively priced and, as far as I know, it's just an enterprise license. We have found it is worth the money."
"The solution is very expensive."
