Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Cloud-based protection has simplified daily client support and keeps threats under control
The problems that we are facing with policy adoption include slow adoption, as it takes more than five minutes to adopt policy on client computers. ESET Network Attack Protection sometimes helps in reducing network-level intrusions, but sometimes it prevents local devices on the network, which are well-known and good devices, from being recognized, treating them as a threat. So it requires more administration than usual. ESET could implement a good solution for remote support in ESET Endpoint Protection Platform for improvement in the future. Since you have the cloud console, ESET could have something similar to AnyDesk or TeamViewer, but from ESET.

Has plug-and-play capability once configured and good reporting system
The tool's most valuable features have been its plug-and-play capability once configured and its reporting system is good. The most improved feature of asset auditing is its physical logging of all software. This allows us to understand what software and applications are installed on endpoints. We can easily check which software applications are installed in the network infrastructure during client processing or audits.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"But overall, when we speak about security and protection, they are one of the top providers."
"The dashboard is customizable."
"Cortex XDR lets us manage several clients from the same console, and its endpoint defense is more advanced than traditional antivirus."
"It is an easy-to-use tool."
"One of the main benefits of the solution is its intelligence to correlate the events into an incident."
"Traps is quite a stable product. Once it was properly deployed and configured, you have nothing to be worried about."
"They did what they said. This solution could apply to any scenario."
"After deploying Traps, we saw the performance of the network improve by 65 to 70 percent."
"It really, really helps in the detection of ransomware, zero-day threats, basically anything cyber security related."
"Lightweight software, it does not compromise the performance of the operating system."
"A feature we like is setting the GUI of ESET Endpoint Security/ESET File Security to silent mode because some servers and clients can have performance issues."
"For organizations with budget constraints that need a reliable solution, ESET Endpoint Protection Platform is an excellent choice."
"The most valuable feature of ESET Endpoint Security performance."
"I have found the ESET Management Console very good; it gives me many features, such as managing users and installing a new version."
"This solution does not slow down your systems. It is very light."
"The solution is stable."
"The tool's most valuable features have been its plug-and-play capability once configured and its reporting system is good. The most improved feature of asset auditing is its physical logging of all software. This allows us to understand what software and applications are installed on endpoints. Cons

"The solution should enhance the ADR and reporting."
"Currently, we are monitoring all USB drives and ports but we would like to improve our device control capabilities."
"Traps doesn't work with McAfee. You need to remove McAfee to install Traps. This is very common, and its nothing that should be an issue. Some antivirus engines recognize Traps as an threat component, so maybe they need to shake hands somewhere."
"It is not a suitable solution if you are looking for a single product with multiple features such as DLP, encryption, rollback, etc."
"The only issues that we have are, one the cost, two the dashboard is not very intuitive, even though you can drill down within the dashboard, we usually have to gather information from other sources to determine locations and if its a false positive."
"Impact on system performance is horrible, adding a lot of delays for users."
"The solution could improve by providing better integration with their own products and others."
"It'll help if customization was easier."
"We have experienced some problems with the actualization of some endpoints. We then have to manually reinstall the version on these endpoints."
"The interface is good. However, it could always be better. It could be more user-friendly."
"We had the encryption capabilities in ESET Endpoint Protection Platform; however, we disabled that and use BitLocker because we noticed that the performance of our machines degraded by about 20%."
"The integration capabilities might be lacking a bit."
"I would rate the pricing a three out of five. It is not expensive, but it is also not inexpensive."
"Malware detection is good but repairing is not always up to the mark."
"After we did the initial setup of ESET Endpoint Security, we had to inform users about popups."
"It has a very inconvenient way of activating the beta NIS when you have to type in the key"
"The tool needs to be more user-friendly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"In terms of the cost Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is very expensive because we are a Mexican company and when you translate dollars to pesos the cost is very high. The solution is very expensive for Mexican companies. I understand that they have international prices, but I do not think it offsets the price enough for many companies in countries, such as Mexico. The amount it is reduced is not a massive percentage."
"The pricing seems fair, and I do like the licensing model. You use wherever they are, and it is elastic."
"The return on investment is from the user side because we have seen the performance of it increase the delivery time of the product if we are using too many web-based and on-premise applications. In indirect ways, we saw the return of investment in terms of performance and user satisfaction increase."
"The pricing is a little high. It is per user per year."
"It has reasonable pricing for the use cases it provides to the company."
"It's way too expensive, but security is expensive. You pay for your licensing, and then you pay for someone to monitor the stuff."
"I feel it is fairly priced."
"We pay about $50,000 USD per year for a bundle that includes Cortex XDR."
"At first, we thought it was a bit expensive, but we negotiated a better price."
"It is not expensive, but it is also not inexpensive."
"The price of ESET Endpoint Security is in the middle range of price compared to other solutions. For example, BitDefender can be more expensive."
"ESET is cheap."
"The cost is a very reasonable. When compared with other products, the price is low (though not very low)."
"I think it's available for a pretty fair price. If you know how to use it, then it's a very fair price for what you get."
"This is not an expensive product."
"ESET is perfect, if you can afford it."
"I rate the solution's pricing a five out of ten."
